sound problem with cm - Nook HD, HD+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i dont have any sound in videos (all my videos are using ac3 or dts sound) when using the gallery player or mx player.
youtube and the stock music app are working fine, but i'm also missing the sound which you hear when you turn the volume up or down (the sound is enable in the android settings)
i tried cm 10.1.3 as well as 10.2 nightly, same problem.
the only player which seems to be working for all videos is bs player. moboplayer is working on some videos, on others it's not
is there any fix for this?

I had a similar problem but when I updated to 10.1 11/8 nightly, it fixed my sound issues.

Video Player?

Do we have a video player for android? Its disappointing that there is not ONE decent video player for the Android.
theres a default video player with the phone framework. if you have astro file explorer or similar, you find your video on your sdcard and it will play great in a default player. theres also meridian player. if you update to JacHeroski the HTC video player in that ROM is awesome!
with LukLuk you can stream movies online, i think it will play videos off your sdcard too. I havent tried playing anything off the sdcard yet though...
Cinema has a great interface, Meridian works well also (though one of the last updates it messed with my stock music player when I set it not to be the default for the headset buttons, and it's idea of random music playback is a joke - it makes a single shot randomly sorted playlist - instead of randomly selecting upon skipping tracks).. So, I am sticking with Cinema now.

[Q] Galaxy and playing 720p .mkv movies

hi
First of all i want to say that i don't wana to use players like bsplayer, dice player or mx player.
I want to watch a movie in built-in player or m video player.
The thing is that these movies are working good on stock 2.2.1.
And one time is working for me on 2.3.6 (but i forgot on what rom and now i can't find it)
Maby some one know what to do to watch that type of movies.
MX player play this only in Sw mode.
One developer say's that this is maby kernel feature.
I think this could be some video drivers.
I recall that GamerzRom was able to play 720p mkv very well, but not with a stock player, it was with Moboplayer rather.
I don't think any stock player will be able to play 720p mkvs, due to the lack of hardware decoding support without proper codecs (Samsung does slap in quite a few already, but unfortunately not for MKV IIRC, presumably due to it possibly sucking too much RAM).
I guess your best bet would be to try that ROM with a 3rd party player like MoboPlayer, Dice player or MX player.
ok, i like the rom , video speed is little better but it still lagging and played in software mode
look at the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dz-mh1RzmpA
It works just fine for me. On ICS CM9 with mx player. Very smooth and clear!

maby more info?
becouse i don't think that .mkv is playing smoothly for u.
Try this: http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=torrentinfo&tid=322020
Diceplayer
i'm using devil kernel with XL memory and without any problems. 720p videos work perfectly with Video player and Diceplayer.
So try and see if devil kernel helps you out too.
Good Luck
for me on CM9+devil's kernel 720p movies runs smooth without any problems, I'm using MXplayer.
slim ics + devil3 +mx player or dice player and video playback (.mkv, anime) is terrible.

[Q] Crazy audio distortion

When I watch some 720p MKV files with Dice and Stick It players, the audio is pretty badly distorted. It will sound fine for a few seconds, then make crazy bleep-bloop robot noises.
I found the the VLC player nightly actually will play the videos with sound, but it isn't really suitable for use because of lag/sync issues.
AVI and MP4 files work fine.
I've been using CM9 for a long time and haven't had this problem before. I moved back to older builds when it worked fine, yet the issue persists.
I can't blame the players, because they haven't changed. Can't blame the ROM, because old versions that used to work now don't. Can't blame the sound hardware because other videos work fine. Did a system wipe/factory reset as well.
Any ideas?
Try MX player .It plays all my files Inc MKV.

MX Player is great, it plays all my files also. Don't forget to get the codec (Armv7).
MX is a another player that used to work for me and doesn't anymore.

The only thing I can think of is to run acmeuninstaller, then install android again with acmeinstaller 3.
Good luck..

CyanogenMod WMV video playback problem

Hi everyone,
I'm on official CM 10.1 and when I play WMV video files using MX Player, they play only with SW decoder which becomes laggy if the video is in 1080p with high bitrate. These videos play fine on Stock ROM with HW decoder and of course with default video player.
Is there anyway to import LG video player, video libs or whatever responsible of this to CM to make this videos work properly?

Although it may not solve anything, consider upgrading to the latest nightly also. As of July 12 I saw all my GPS issues disappear, so perhaps your issue was addressed as well.

Best Movie Player App?

Just wanting to know which movie player apps everyone is using on their Note 8. I have several movies on my phone and I usually use MX Player Pro or VLC player to play them but some of the movies I have, the audio does not play or sounds real low and squeaky. Maybe I'm missing audio codecs or something?

I've always used BS Player. Excellent for network drives and also you can offset the audio track, which is very useful for out of sync audio, which can sometimes happen with a Bluetooth headset or a bad rip
I didn't play too many movies but I don't remember even one that VLC wasn't able to play yet, so it's my player of choice. I know Samsung doesn't have AC3 sound codec included, so any player relying on internal codecs won't work with AC3, but VLC does. If you load the movie onto computer, you can find out what codecs it uses and maybe you can install those as separate package, but as I said IMO VLC is probably the best.
VLC is all you need. I use it on both my phone and computer. It plays everything you throw at it.
MX player. Recently VLC Player is good

When you hit the screen, while a video is playing, under the BS logo there is an arrow pointing to the right. Expand that and full screen is the last option
