Thank you for sharing this information. Honestly we do care and are very greatful for it, its just we needed that little bit more info on the source, as you may have seen its very easy for people to just claim they know things and post them publically and with tensions running so high as we are very happy about the device I feel many of us jumped to conclusions.
Yea, there have been many rumours about the release in the past which makes us difficult to believe on any1

My suggestion, dont use safe terms like:

"If people don't like it i would suggest don't reply"
It sounds very fishy and not very convincing

Hey guys, it looks like the HTC Rezound is close to getting S-Off by Evil. If you didn't know, the Rezound has had a locked bootloader all this time just like us. Can we look to how they got root to help with our own efforts. The method of getting S-Off between these two phones can't be that different, can it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375598
EDIT: Apparently links to his site are prohibited. But just google "s-off think tank" to get to Evil's site.
They look close resembling. Worth a shot and try.

I'm pretty sure the internals are very very alike too. The only difference I've read is the screen size. They both came out around the same time, so I'd think they'd be locked in a very similar fashion.

Apparently he is very very close. The link said days, if not hours away. Would he be the one to tweak it for us or would one of us have to? I'm not even sure if we could post our version on here though, XDA is pretty ant-anything that involves him. Maybe he could post our version on his site.

Look, I don't like the guy and I think his attitude is terrible and he deserved the ban he got. But can we refrain from saying stuff that isn't true? It does nothing for guiding people to an eventual unlocked rezound (or vivid in this case). Open is supposed to be was android is about... not squelching possible advancements based off a personal problem.
C'mon now you're a moderator. Please conduct yourself accordingly. You could have left it at, "You can link his twitter, but you can't link his site."

As I appreciate your enthusiasm for moderating me. The statement was made intentionally. As I have had this thread topic in multiple forums and the dev in question prompts flaming from discussion as to why we can't link his site. Most people on here either love or hate the guy, I am cool with him. My statement is made because that's the reasoning behind not linking his site. I can post it when I did or we could wait until it was asked, I chose the pre emptive approach to avoid someone literally saying something negative about the dev and xda. If you have an issue with my statement please address a senior mod or admin.
I'm not a douche bag here, I treat you all with respect and do what I can to help. Thanks.

Hey Guys,
One of the most hated questions on this forum is :What is the best rom for my device?" I've been here for ages and have seen that to be an issue from day one.
I really don't think its that stupid a question... so to tackle that I was thinking about creating Ratemyrom.com
This site would allow devs to post their Rom screenshots, videos, features and perhaps an acknowledged bug/issues list and users would be able to comment on and rate the rom based on a predefined set of criteria such as speed, efficiency, battery life etc... the individual polls will then be rolled up into an overall score summary creating the Rom Score.
I just wanted to put my idea out here and see what you all think about it.
Do you think this is something that is needed?
Is there something out there that does this that I am not aware of?
Are you willing to help with the creation of the site?
I have basic web development and CMS skills, I could possible do this myself using Durpal, but in order to create a fully intuitive site with a great UI the way I envision it I could use some help.
Fell free to comment and/or PM me your thoughts.
Cheers!
The main issue you will find is that xyz rom will run differently depending on user and device set up.

How are would they put an adult's lung inside a 10 year old girl?
I realize that this is not a charity org site, which is why I'm not asking for monetary donations. All I'm asking for is a couple of minutes out of everyone's busy schedule to just sign a petition that could possibly help the child from my post above or any other child that may face the same situation in the near future.
Besides, the last I checked, this is an off topic forum.
Also for those that feel this is fake...that's why I posted the link to abcnews site. This was also on the news broadcast this afternoon. Check all the news sources online or offline and let me know if you find that this is a scam.

Even when petitions "succeed" they typically do absolutely nothing and the people who sign them go back to their lives feeling like they made a difference. If you really care about something then you need to call or write your representative and encourage others to do the same.
Also for those that are skeptical, the petition to Make Unlocking Cell Phones Legal received 114,322 signatures(including mine) and resulted in an official White House response:
OFFICIAL WHITE HOUSE RESPONSE TOMake Unlocking Cell Phones Legal. said:
The White House agrees with the 114,000+ of you who believe that consumers should be able to unlock their cell phones without risking criminal or other penalties. In fact, we believe the same principle should also apply to tablets, which are increasingly similar to smart phones. And if you have paid for your mobile device, and aren't bound by a service agreement or other obligation, you should be able to use it on another network. It's common sense, crucial for protecting consumer choice, and important for ensuring we continue to have the vibrant, competitive wireless market that delivers innovative products and solid service to meet consumers' needs.

The image that is credited to XDA is the feature image of the Android with working tools only. This framework has not been posted anywhere other than to the small private beta group. Once the developer is happy that enough progress has been made I understand that the next step will be a public beta and that will probably be posted on XDA.
