Can't remove apps from Device administration [CM7.2 2013.10.28.2353-N1 KANG]

Hello.
The problem is that after I deactivate some application in the Device administration, after rebooting the applicatioan is granted for permissions again.
I also tried to stop these applications before removing from Device administration, but it does not solve the problem.
Phone: Google Nexus One
ROM: CM7.2 2013.10.28.2353-N1 KANG (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723844)
Step to reproduce:
1. Force stop the application (for example "Power Toggles")
2. Setting -> Security -> Device Administrators --> "Power Toggles" --> Dectivate
3. Reboot the phone
4. Setting -> Security -> Device Administrators --> "Power Toggles" is checked (activated as Device administrator)
P.S.: I can't report about this issue in the KANG's rom thread because I don't have a sufficient amount of posts, and it is possible that the problem is not related to the KANG's rom only.
P.P.S.: sory for my English.

createTarFork() process ended with ERROR=255

Hi all,
I was backing up with the unofficial TWRP and found out that I started getting error 255 after having set and removed (because otherwise TWRP could not decrypt) the PIN. Yoink in this thread pointed out that:
"You need to look at /tmp/recovery.log while in recovery (adb pull it). Look in it for the last file that it tried to read before it gave the error. Your options are either delete that file or pull it then delete it. However, the file is corrupt in some way and the backup will never finish. Restoring an older nandroid fixes this because it deletes the existing files and writes your nandroid back over them."
I tried doing what he suggested but found multiple files with gibberish names at the location.
I understand that the TWRP that I used is an unofficial version, and only want to point out that the error only occurred after a PIN was set, in case someone experienced same issue.
I had the same error when I tried to do a backup on my P20 with the unofficial TWRP. I pulled the recovery.log and it noted a folder '/data/system_ce/10' that it couldn't read. So I jumped into the File Explorer withing TWRP and surprised to find that folder's contents all encrypted whereas nothing else was encrypted (I've removed all lockscreen PIN/fingerprint etc).
After some digging around, that folder is created when you use the App Twin feature as it creates encrypted account information when you duplicate say WhatsApp or Facebook. Removing the duplicated apps removes the '/10' folder which I can then do a full nandroid backup.
I could resolve my nandroid /data backup error on my EMUI 8.0 Mediapad M5 device with those following steps:
1 - Use a correct TWRP implementation
TWRP need to access the uncyphered partition /data.
There no possibility to backup it, if TWRP does not implement deciphering user data partition.
2 - Remove all users except user 0 (the administrator)
You can verify that there is no unwanted users, looking at directory /data/user : the only subdirectory should be "0".
To remove the others users :
Remove the PrivateSpace if you have one (Settings > Security & Privacy > PrivateSpace, and tap on the garbage can).
Remove all the secondary users (Settings > Users & accounts > users, and tap on each users to delete them). Keep just the main administrator user.
On EMUI, remove all twins applications (Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Twin, and disable all twin apps).
On OxygenOS, remove all parallel apps (Settings > Apps > Parallel Apps, and disable all parallel apps).
On MIUI, remove all dual apps (Settings > Dual Apps, and disable all dual apps)
On others devices ... you must find all parameters that create those unwanted users.
If you are not able to get the correct settings to suppress those users, in last resort you can try this command : "pm remove-user user-no. (For example "pm remove-user 999").
3 - Do not forget to protect your backups by a password
This would be stupid to cipher your /data partition and keep backups of this partition unprotected.
These steps fixed the nandroid backup problem for /data partition on my Huawei Mediapad M5 device.
I post on this forum because I hope that this will be helpful for others devices owners.

also don't forget if you had use appLock on Miui... it also restrict the backingup... so disable those apps that are locked...

CN version: "There is a problem parsing the package" solution?

I'm sure some of you have seen this error: "There is a problem parsing the package" when trying to install an APK.
I have the Chinese [CN] variant of this phone running Realme UI.
I get this error with ALL apk packages. Can someone help me solve this conundrum? :crying:
The APKs where downloaded from Chrome Browser and resides in my Downloads folder, which I open with my default File Manager
Things I have tried (Tried to install on both ON/OFF states):
Settings > Additional Settings > Device & Privacy > Unknown Source installation: Ticked App Market; Bluetooth; Browser; Chrome; Download Management; File Manager; Game Center; System UI.
Settings > Additional Settings > Device & Privacy > Installation Authentication: Verify app installations not from App Marker (The only other option here is Verify installations from all sources)
Settings > Additional Settings > Device & Privacy > Secure Apps Recommendations: Turn off
Developer Options: USB Debugging ON/OFF
Developer Options: Disable Permissions Monitoring ON/OFF - Apps from Play Store does not install when it is "ON"

⋆ [NON-ROOT] [AD-BLOCK] Blokada Setup for RealmeUI v1.0 ⋆

Blokada Setup for RealmeUI v1.0
(non-root Ad-blocker for Android)
Some things to know:
• Color OS / Realme UI use their own private DNS servers at system-level, which makes ad-blocking impossible.
• Using Blokada we can bypass those restrictions.
• You may need to re-verify and re-apply these settings after each OTA update.
• This method should work for other devices running RealmeUI v1.0
Steps:
• Download & install latest Blokada from here: https://blokada.org
• The Blokada version on Playstore is a SLIM version and does not support host ad-blocking.
• Apply the settings as listed below and restart your phone.
• Verify if the applied settings are persistent after restarting. Open Blokada App and activate Blokada.
Settings App > App Management > App List
• Blokada > Data Usage Status > Enable "Background Data"
• Blokada > Power Saver > Select "Run In Background"
• Blokada > Enable "Auto Startup"
• Blokada > Permissions > Allow "Storage"
Settings App > Additional Settings
• Recents Tasks Manager > Enable “Blokada”
• Get Recommendations > Disable “Get Recommendations”
Settings App > Other Wireless Connections > Private DNS
• By default it should be set to "Off"
• But it doesn't work, it is probably a firmware bug.
• Select "Auto" > Now Select "Off" again.
Blokada App > Settings
• Ad blocking > Ad blocking Settings > Download on WiFi only > Select “No”
• Ad blocking > Ad blocking Settings > [BETA] Advanced ad blocking rules > Select “Yes”
• DNS > Recommended DNS servers > Choose as per your preference
• DNS > Manage > DNS servers list > Select "Sync"
• DNS > Manage > Alternative DNS Answer > Select "Yes"
• App Settings > Start on Boot > Select "Yes"
• App Settings > Reports > Select "Yes"
• App Settings > Keep Alive > Select "Yes"
Extra features: (for advanced users only)
• You can selectively block domains by going into Blokada > Settings > Ad blocking > Host Log > Select the domain you think is serving you ads > Select “Block”
• Alternatively you can use wildcards, but it is still in BETA. Blokada > Settings > Ad blocking > Blocked Hosts > Add a new host > Enter your hosts as wildcard entries > Example: *heytapmobile.com
Wildcard entries: (for advanced users only)
Code:
*coloros.com
*heytapmobi.com
*heytapmobile.com
*oppomobile.com

Dear all, I've tried to install this app following this tutorial but it seems that I'm last version the configuration is completely different because blokada settings are different and it seems that works through vpn and not like a traditional ad blocker. Is there any way to use it or other recommended app for ad blocker purpose?

As far as I know Blokada really works via VPN (therefore it's also usable for not-rooted devices). Only if you're rooted other options/apps that edit the hostfile are available. Personally, I'm using AdAway for years now, also because I need my VPN for other purposes.
