Is this file for rooting the .141 firmware?

No, it does not root anything, it just provides the correct files for managing root access after rooting

Yes it is, just flash an ICS ftf

EDIT,
Sorry my mistake, now I am at my PC I can see you have a V.
In which case rooting is easy..just unlock you rbootloader and flash an insecure kernel.

The one in xda thred is old.it didnt work 4me.but 1.7 or somethin..latest worked fine
Sent from my C5502 using xda app-developers app
it has nothing to do with version, but another thing. vroot gets stuck on my system for an unknown reason. probably a missing service that I've disabled.
Try also searching for framroot here on xda, it's an apk you install and works on most phones amazingly easy

I think that app should be patched directly on device you want to install it. Or maybe you had installed "normal application" on xsp first, didn't work, patched and tried to update? I had a problem with gta:sa where obb files blocked me from installing patched app. Deleted it and it worked just fine.

There are threads in dev section. I think custom fw is worth trying as well. Even better than stock. I didn't want to dabrand my phone when i got it and later go away from stock rom, but now i'm sure cfw are being done to be greater than stock. There you can find detailed instructions

Have u tried rooting via Flashtool itself? But a fair warning, rooting via a PC will most likely erase all your SD data, so backup and then try..

OK root can be obtained on .283 , what about recovery like CWM or TWRP ??
I've seen Hodor and XzKernel both are on .230 sources so they are not a match and sony is yet to release .283 sources.
What recovery are you guys using on .283 that is Android v4.4.4??

The TWRP version is 2.7.1.0 on the dual recovery, whenever there is an update just check nut's repo you would be able to download the latest recovery from there

Thanks a lot
I learned how to compile a boot.img from sony sources and include recoveries in them through DooMLoRD's tutorials.
But that requires the latest twrp ramdisk packed in .cpio format ,
Can you help me find the latest twrp ramdisk packed in .cpio format ???
This is because I want the recovery to be in the kernel so that when i flash a custom rom the recovery is still there and deos not get deleted from system partition.
