Hello All,
I've been getting double calendar notifications for events since day one. I ignored it for awhile. Then it bothered me enough to do something about it. So i looked and noticed there were two Calendar apps so I disabled one and am still getting double calendar notifications.
Does anyone know a fix for this?
Thank you
Bump, please anyone?
Possibly uninstall one? You could also try turning notifications off for one.

I immediately disabled the stock calendar app and installed Google Calendar from the play store, there are no conflicts and it doesn't affect anything.

any idea why 1. the X has the android calendar (and not google) and 2. why the google calendar doesn't automatically replace the android calendar?
they're functionally identical, just one has Google's signature.

It might be an AOSP versus Google ROM kinda thing. Doesn't make sense, seeing that the Google Keyboard is built in.

I've got my g-Tablet set up just about the way I want it. I like the stock ROM. I have Market working.
My problem is that I don't have any use for the stock Calendar or Contacts apps. I'd like to get the proper Google ones installed without messing up anything else. Some of the replacement ROMs do a good job of this (Google apps run and connect and sync properly to my Google account), so I know it must be possible.
I did try the cyanogenmod update file, but doing this caused several problems and I had to restore from a backup. These problems included causing Market to crash any time it was run as well as Contact and Calendar apps that wouldn't connect or sync to my Google account.
Is there anyone who can walk me through the process of adding a single Google app such as Calendar or Contacts and get it up and connected to my Google account?

I'd be interested in figuring out what this means.
I want the real Google calendar as well.

I finally figured out that "Tom" possibly means "ROM."
So, can anyone point those of us who are interested in adding just Google's Calendar or Contacts apps, rather than a replacement ROM or all-in-one "Google Apps" add-on, in the right direction?
Hey guys,
For some reasons I can't figure out how to reset the default app to open an attachment in Gmail. The way to do this either changed in Jelly beans or in the new Sense :S
More specifically calendar invitations open through the calendar in the *browser* instead of the calendar app. I probably selected the wrong option the first time it asked...
How do I reset that?
Cheers
/lys
Answering my own question. The only way to do this seem to be resetting *all* app default preferences.
As it happens this was not my issue. The real issue is that the new Sense calendar does not accept google calendar invitations. So even if you select that as the action when you click on the gmail calendar email, it goes to the google calendar on the web.
I don't like that. The Sense calendar on the Sensation did not do that. It accepted the invitation in app.
Quick solution was to download the stock calendar. Happier this way...

That may be Gogole's fault, not HTC's. Google have closed off exchange syncing which may be what HTC were using. It's caused me problems in Windows 8, wouldn't allow mail to open from Gmail unless I deselected calendar and contact syncing when adding my Gmail account;
Hello guys
As it is written on the thread name I just cant get my Calendar entries to show on Blinkfeed.
Furthermore my eMails from my Gmail account arent showing up on the lockscreen despite having it setted as "Productivity"
I hope some can help me, becaue those issues really bug me a lot.
Thanks
Are you using the stock mail and calendar apps? Blinkfeed and the productivity lock screen only pull data from the stock apps.

Ok I use Gmail for my Mail account. That explains the lockscreen issue.thanks for that!
Is it right that with Android 4.2 we can use lockscreen widgets,so i can customize with Gmail?
In case of the calendar issue I am using the stock app, which was preloaded on the HTC One. Any more suggestions why it doesnt show up?

for the first question that'll depend. android 4.2.2 stock comes with lockscreen widgets. whether HTC decides to add them to their lockscreen setup is a completely other issue lols.
as for your second issue. check the blinkfeed topics and services section. scroll to the left and see what services you have toggled on. you have to have calendar on for it to show. it shows fine for me. also it does not pre-show events you have coming up only when the event is happening at that moment. so i have my calendar setup for my classes. say i have class at 3pm. blinkfeed will not tell me i have a class coming up at 3pm if i update it at 1pm. it will show up though when i update my blinkfeed around 3:20pm though. An interesting tid bit is if you have way too many topics and facebook stuff your calendar blinkfeed will get pushed down and you wont see it. (IE it wont have priority space on the blinkfeed area)
hopefully that helps explain it a bit.

Thanks for answering, but it still doesn't work. I guess it's my blinkfeed, which is bugged somehow and I can't see a way to get in working despite trying hard. Maybe I just have to live with this and adapt to it or wait for an update to fix this bug

Are you on a stock ROM? Or custom? I'm on ordroid 5.0.0 and it works fine. Are you sure your Google calendars are updating? Do you see stuff when you go into the calendar app?

It seems that Blinkfeed only show the calendar entries that is due for today. Try adding something in your calender for today and reboot your phone. It should show then.
Hey guys,
I know that this isn't a new topic, but I having some problems with my HTC ONE.
My calendar doesn't show the events, events is in it`s data base, but still not showing in application.
When i use search i can found my events.
My HTC is updated to android 4.3
I've tried to reconfigure the accounts, but have no effect.
I using the default application, that came with the phone.
Someone knows what I need to do for correct this issue?
Below some screenshots.
Same issue
I have "Contacts Birthday's and Events" calendar subscribed in my Gmail and I maintain the birthday dates of all my contacts in Gmail [format: December DD, YYYY]. In HTC calendar [Accounts] i checked the Google option and in that i checked "Contacts Birthday's and Events" option, which takes the birthdays dates from my Gmail contacts and sets reminders and notifications. But I am not able to see any notifications from the calendar.
Now, i have another option in HTC Calendar Accounts called "People (Birthdays & Anniversaries)" and i have no idea where this option came from and from where it takes the birthday data from but it displays the birthdays. The annoying thing is when an event is about to occur this People thing displays 4 reminders for the same event, which is irritating.
I want to know where this People option came from and from where its taking the data and why the hell cant i see the Gmail contacts birthdays through the "Contacts Birthday's and Events" option??? :crying:
If you go to the Play Store, there is an updated Google Calendar app. It is Version 5.01579230.
When I install it , it gets installed in addition to the Google Calendar app that comes on the phone, even though it seems like it is intended to be a replacement. Does anyone know why the new app doesn't replace the old one? When I get notifications, I get them from both apps. I can easily uninstall the newer one. But, I prefer it. I'd rather just have the new one. But, the new one can't be just uninstalled. I'm afraid to go disabling things on the old version because I do not want to interfere with the new one functioning.
Any ideas? Thanks!!
The Note 4 does not come with the Google Calendar app installed, it comes with the Samsung Calendar app. Unfortunately the Samsung Calendar cannot be fully disabled. You can remove all the calendars to display though if you want to use the Google calendar app.
Haa. I had no idea that was Samsung's Calendar. They seem so similar. Thanks.
So my Calendar is showing Google+ birthdays...I have no way to turn it off without turning off birthdays all together. I want to see contact birthdays but not Google+!
Anyone have this issue and/or figure out how to turn it off yet?
P.S. Google+ birthdays don't even show on the web calendar! I think it's an exclusive annoyance to the app!
Thanks!
I am in the same boat. It is all or nothing. The only (sort of) work around I found was to use some widgets that let you display only contact events and turn off the birthday calendar. Android Pro Widgets and Month: Calendar Widget are the two I use.
This change came about in Calendar itself, not Lollipop. I'm runnign the latest Cal on my GNex on KK and have the same issue since upgrading.
So it has nothig to do with the N6, or Lollipop - It's the App. Sorry.
