Problem with timescape gingerxperia v8

Hello. I folloe the instructions from gingerxperia v8 topic on how to install timescape but it doesn't work. I tried again and again and nothing.. any help? Thanks

Have you try full wipe then install gingerxperia v8 then install timescape then full wipe?

If you look at the instructions, there is line you have to add to the build.prop.
Install GXV8 then the timescape update, then after boot add the line indicated in the instructions and reboot.
Timescape is added as a widget.

Before this I have a same problem too with GingerXperiaV8.
My solution:
First step:
Extact all folder in timescape.zip (META & system folder)
copy 'system folder' only to sd card.
Second step:
open root explore, copy every file in sdcard>system>app/etc/framework.
paste into system>app/etc/framewor
make permission for all file rw-r-r.
Third step:
open built.prop with text editor (system>built.prop)
enter this line - ro.semc.timescape_keys=Sony_Ericsson_Xperia
save built.prop
reboot ur device.
hope this one can help ur. its work for me.

I installed timescapre in gingerDX v018 but the background is too dark, I can hardly see the image.. it's all dark compared to the timescape in the stock rom

i think Timescape is only for stock ROM thats why you have this problem

I've done it all, still wont work. anyway my rom is GingerXperia V10.

installing theme is not rockking your X8...
learn how to installing custom rom..it will really rock your X8..
u can find the way how to work with it here..
follow properly and you'ill love your X8 dude..

what do you mean by installing custom rom? how can i do that? can you give me the easiest way to install that custom rom? i scared to do that.. ahahaha..

root your phone first before you can install custom ROMs.

when you are ready do it
Installing custom rom very good way it can make you phone up to date
Totally new look
and this is what developpers work here
1- u have to root your phone (find 'super one click' v1.9.1 and download)
-Go to setting/application allow unknown source, and usb debugging
-Connect USB (PC and Phone)
-"don't mount!"
-open SOC.exe
-Click ROOT
-Wait until finnish (done?) let go to step 2
2-Download Custom rom which one you like (I prefered GingerDX)
Makesure it in .zip file
3-Download Xrecovery.rar
Makesure when you extract u'ii get 3files listed bellow
i-Xrecovery.tar
ii-busybox
iii-chargemon
4-Download RootExplorer.apk
5-Download ClockWorkMod easy install (it should .zip file)
6-move the 3 files obove (i,ii,iii)in one folder name it xrecovery (on desktop)
7-then move xrecovery folder (u just created) and RootExplorer.apk and ClockWorkMod(easyInstall type) and don't forget the custom rom file 'updateGingerDXV20.zip'
8-Install RootExplorer.apk
9-launch RootExplorer
go to sdcard/xrecovery
U will see the 3 files u just copy (from step5)
10-U have to move the 3files to system/libs
tap or click and hold a few second on the file, then click copy or move.
press back button 2 times,
tap or click system, then click or tap libs
click mount RW on top right
click paste, Done? do same thing for another 2 files on xrecovery folder
11-when u successful move or copy this 3 files, U success install xrecovery
now u can reboot your phone and keep pressing back button continewsly when u see SE logo
12-U should at recovery (instead 2nd sony ericsson logo)
13-In Xrecovery choose install custop zip (sellect ClockWorkMod.zip file)
(this action will install CWM recovery on your device)
14-choose install custom zip (and now for gingerDX.zip file)
15-choose fullwipe
16-choose reboot
17-you done..hope for the best
Dont panic if your phone bricked
just use SEUS

its not dat scary unless u follow each steps carefully,when u install a custom rom u will get theme chooser from which u can install gud themes for ur phone

Hi!
I'm searching for a CMW.zip for replace phone.apk and contact.apk.
I've installed a rom that have preinstallad the black temed contact.apk and phone.apk. I want to raplace with the whites app but i didn't find the zip to flash.
Can someone tell me where i can find it?

hi,
sometimes i do changes in the ROM itself by copying the apps that i like from a ROM to another ROM.
when u open the ROM by winRAR, open system/app, then drag and drop the good apps that u like. better that u make a copy for the ROM which u want to not loose the original one. i will upload u the Phone.apk and Contacts.apk from a ROM that its white themed. and then reflash the rom. i don't know if it will work or not but other applications worked with me. anyway make a backup to not loose anything and try it. plz tell me what will happen with u. i wish it can help u

Thanks!!! It's works!! I've changed phone.apk, contacts.apk and mms.apk and than i've flash via CMW and all works well!!!
Instructions: download the rom.zip on your pc. Open the rom with winrar(dont't unzip it) and copy the new file(phone.apk, contacts.apk and mms.apk) in the folder system/app and replace the existing app. Than move the new rom.zip on the sd of the phone and flash it!

[Q] Tutorial for stock rom

hi there. i am wondering if someone can help me and guide me how to **** mine own rom?
at least how to change something basic in rom...like put other launcher , video player...etc. and all ZIP it than flash it via CWM.
i was searching forum for it but... cant find anything ( maybe i missed it ).
btw... it's for Win 7 64 bit. platform.
any way...sry if i am missed some similar post but... ty for any info.

you can change launcher by using 3rd party apps such as 'home switcher'.

y, know that mate. just need someone to explain me how to make all that what i ask and than make flashable zip file.

download a lauchner like GoLauncher.apk open your Rom.zip,dont extract!! only open it,go to the directory system/app,put the golauncher.apk in and delete the LGLauncher.apk ,you can do the same with camera,videoplayer,sms and somethting.
you must have a replacement for the original,thats all.
for optic,first go copy systemUI.apk and framework-res.apk from the open zip to your PC,then go to the xda kitchen,make your style,open the downloaded zip and copy the backed framwork and system apk to Our rom zip,of corse in the right direction;-) and then you flash your own styled rom

So I did this mod a while back on my nexus 5. Took me a while and few incorrect APK's were decompiled but I got it right this time. It's simply a custom app drawer icon replacing the stock image with a custom root pirate droid image. When pressed I added a blur effect/animation. Keep in mind I am on stock 6.0.1 rooted with Xposed. Not sure if it will work on custom roms but I think it should.
Instructions:
**make a nandroid backup. I am not responsible for any loss/damages you encounter while using this mod.**
1)Download base.apk
2)move apk to data/app.
3)set permissions to rw-r-r--
4)move apk to data/app/com.google.android.goglequicksearchbox-1
5) select the option to replace/overwrite the existing file.
6) an error notification will appear saying that the Google app has stopped working
7) ignore and reboot.
8) enjoy

Also, I never got into the habit of making flashable zips outside of using zip themer which unfortunately I don't believe is compatible with MM. If anyone can make a flashable zip for this mod and can post it here please do and I can go ahead and add it to the OP.

So the directory data/app/com.google.android.goglequicksearchbox-1 is not there on Dirty Unicorns, you wouldnt happen to know where i should put it on that rom would you?? I would be willing to try it out.

You can do that with a custom launcher. That being said I'll create the flashable.zip for you on Saturday if not done already

That's because this is for google now launcher. Im also on DU. I'll check, but it will probably be in velvet.apk
EDIT
ok, so I'm pretty sure the stock launcher for DU is Velvet.apk. with that being said you would need go decompile it, mod the images and recompile. If you want, I can do it for you and use the DU unicorn image to theme it toward the ROM if you'd like. I can post the apk here when finished.
