2 hours of screen on time. I'm worried the battery might be messed up on mine and I just want to know if I'm getting odd results or not.

Dude, this is IMPOSSIBLE to answer. We have no idea of:
*your setup
*your apps
*your push schedules
*what's syncing^
*5,000,023 other variables
Just relax. Charge at night, use during day.

How long have you had the battery, is it stock?

My battery performance is less better than yours. I got 7hrs till 5% left after 1 year mark.
Get a original battery if you need spare.

It seems stock batteries generally have roughly a ten month life which sucks, but they are very cheap.

he he.. may be now we need phones running on fusion cells. atleast they will last longer...if samsung choose not to screw the up too.
I just got a new sun global 3000mAh note battery. Let me test 1 week then tell you how is it compared with stock battery.

I read rumours that they've developed a new voltage regulator which has 200% better efficiency and should be released to general market in next cpuple of months.... Touch wood, might be a bit safer than fusion

cool,
Id still prefer coldfusion or non emmision fuelcells (dont want h20 building up in my pocket. lol. it would be lowtemp slow cooker, causing embarising "fake fap" spots, imagine all the std misdiagnoses)
It's really a pity that the batteries just last 9-10 months. Mine seemed perfectly OK but then the note wouldn't get very far past the samsung logo, messed up the /system and /data partitions. Just had a replacement genuine battery, but will be very pissed if in october it will once again be broken. Maybe it has something to do with charging with more than 1A chargers? In my car I use a 2A charger, at home it is the 1A charger that came with the phone.

I personally have always used stock charger until i had to move in with a friend and started using his non standard, i noticed a big difference in full charge times, went back to stock immediately.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
it is why they advise in manual to use original chargers only.
It could also be your not adopting battery best practices from manual. Maybe to many charge/recharge cycles?
You can also be unlucky.
Same problem here .. battery lasts in 12h
Maybe it's a JB leak issue I don't know

ive noticed my battery life depleting too lately.
Im a flashaholic with heavy usage, also my note is 7months old now. Ive done calibrations and crap but i can only get around 20hrs from my battery (8-10 of them are when im asleep)
come payday im gonna buy an extended one, but one that wont need an adapted back case.
Anyone else getting this awsome battery life on stock rom?

There is no way in hell you are getting 10 hours of screen on time per charge...
Maybe it was just a glitch but i spent 3 hours on phone with screen on fully and it went to 70% so i just expected 10=100

I doubt it was a glitch. That's not actually altogether uncommon, depending on your usage patterns. On the other hand, trying to extrapolate that out to ten hours of usage is kind of silly: batteries drain at different rates over different charge periods (particularly the first 10% and the last 20%), and it's unlikely your usage is going to stay constant the whole way through.
Yea ur right. I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing awsome battery life

Mine is considerably worse now. I went into pizza hut tonight with 100% battery. We were in there like an hour and a half and when I checked my phone when leaving it was at 88%. It was in my pocket the entire time.
As I'm typing this I'm at 64% with 4hrs and 3 minutes of very light usage. 1 hr of screen on time...
These posts are just silly and unnecessary. The two of you above me? Our phones are setup completely different, with different apps, syncs, settings, etc.
How long has kitkat been out? Give it a few days. Posts like this pop up with EVERY single android update since android has been around.
My battery life is great - as always.

I have never had any issues with my phones having battery struggle and this is my 5th android phone. That is why I posted the question because it was very bizarre for me not to have great battery life. I was simply asking the question to see if anything has been said about an update or some type of fix other than the typical "battery saving" answers

Make sure Google Play Services is updated. Rumors were that there was a bug in the release version causing battery drain.

Something... Looks like "phone" in your screen shot, is keeping your phone awake for a crazy amount of time. Solve that and you're good again. Google it.
Sent from my Moto X cell phone telephone...
it's the NSA!!!!!!!!!
I'm not sure the cause or a permanent solution. But if you see the battery dropping fast... Whether it's from "phone" or anything else.... A reboot should clear it up and you won't lose so much battery life.
That is, if you notice it dropping too fast. Sometimes you might not catch it till it's too late and you're running for a charger. Lol

It's pretty obvious some app is keeping your phone awake once you have solid mobile network signal. Time for you to find out what it is.
I have Gravity box installed. That's it. last night I charged it all the way up before I went to bed. I woke up with a 50℅ loss! This time it was the media server. Whatever that is......if I look on the wakelock detector there are 1000 little things but nothing stands out. Tonight I'll do the same thing but do a reboot before I lay it to rest.
What's weird is I only get this problem when the phone is not being used. If its of any relevance I leave the WiFi on all night. And have it set to turn off when the phone sleeps.

you should know the drill. start getting rid of apps to see if it improves. or, go reverse and start over, installing one app at a time. other posters above are right. you've got something else polling, that's causing the wake lock.

Seems like you could also just have some faulty hardware? e.g. a bad battery or charge sensor?

This is something fairly new. Unless it went belly up.....I still have more testing to do, which can take a while......since it only seems to be happening when I don't use my phone.

There is a bunch of apps to help you out
Usually i use this two
Wakelock detector
battery widget
Use those and paste a print here
Last night I left the WiFi on. Cleared all tabs in the recent and I lost only 28% .
Making progress. It was some app left running that kept it awake. Not sure what though.
Tonight I'll leave the WiFi off.

I regularly have scenarios like this.
- phone is at 27% battery
- few minutes later it beeps and shows 14%
- 30 seconds later - 5%
- few more seconds and it shuts down.
I don't run anything special and through the day it lowers steady (although 100 to 27 in 12 hours is not that great).
I run official 5.0.1 rom and never unlocked bootloader.
So is it a problem with a phone, the battery or just OS that sucks?
Anyone else having the issue?

Most likely it's the battery. Have you looked to see what is using the battery in settings?

Nothing unusual running. I think Android OS was main battery user, may be with hour and half of screen time.
In this specific instance I was running Toyota app while driving.
But similar things happened before without those factors. And mostly it worked ok in the car as well.

Sorry I forgot that was in your OP. Did you look at the battery to see if it was hot or bulging even slightly? Personally for the $15 it takes to get a new battery, I would. Worst case scenario is you end up with a spare. I don't know how old your device (and this your battery) is, but it's not uncommon after 9+ months for them to start dying.
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
Yes, it probably makes sense to get new battery. I got the phone last November or December but problem started early summer. Seems pretty short time for battery to go bad.
Thank you
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
It's not unheard of by any stretch. Heat will kill them fast as well. Does the phone ever get hot?
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
I haven't noticed it being hotter than other phones I used. Yet I carry it in external pouch so would not always feel it.
It definitely wasn't hot when battery was dropping.
More over, last time I turned it off for 3 hours at 14% and when turned it on, drop just continued and it was 5% in 30 seconds.

I got not only a new battery but a new phone and have been experiencing a similar problem. Seriously might just jump ship to the N5. Any suggestions on what else to try? I really don't want to shell out $20 for yet another battery if it's not guaranteed to fix anything. I'm running PopRocks v14 with the stock kernel. Any suggestions?
I had the exact same issue. It was from letting the battery die too often. A new battery fixed the issue 100%
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
That's true. Running it down to 1% all the time definitely shortens the life. I'll try to find the article I read that interviewed battery scientists.
