Why have they still not released the Moto X in the UK? Or anywhere else outside the US for that matter? I'm really keen on the Moto X as I think the ability to use Google Now from screen off state is awesome. Now that the N5 details have been released, I'm really gutted the Google Now feature isn't the same on the it. Also, shame it doesn't have the Active Notification too (but being an LCD screen, it would kill the battery).
To order the Moto X via eBay would cost around 2.5 times the cost of the N5 (after paying all the custom charges and VAT). Plus, not even sure if warranty would be covered. If I wait for it to be officially launched in UK then got knows how long I'll be waiting for and it'll still cost around 2 times the cost of the N5.
May be I should just get the N5. Is the Google Now on the Moto X really that practical or is it just a gimmick?
I am also having hard time deciding whether to wait for N5 to launch here in Israel or wait for Moto X.
Moto G will be announced soon but it seems a bit disappointing compared to the X...
Is it possible to buy off contract Moto X in USA and use it outside USA?

I believe it is, you just need to buy the Developer Edition which is a GSM version. Assuming that's what Israel uses. If it' uses CDMA then I've got no idea as I believe the Moto X handsets would be network locked to those CDMA networks.
as far as i can tell the moto X isnt coming to the UK im actually really peeved because the Nexus 5 might be a nice fast phone but the moto x has some really useful features that i would actually use. Shame on Google for not implementing them, i would of prefered a 720p amoled screen instead of the 1080p lcd ips.

Hi guys,
I want to buy an unlocked Moto X (1st gen), should I buy it now ($ 350) or do you guys think the price will drop when we're closer to the new Moto X release?
I'm guessing that once the new Moto X becames available at motomaker, the 1st gen won't be available anymore, right?
I could wait until no further than Sept 20th because I don't live in the USA and a friend of mine is staying there until the end of the month so he'd bring it to me.
Thank you!

$350 seems really high when a new 2014 Moto G is selling for $179.
What does everyone think is a fair price for a used 2013 Moto X now that the 2014 Moto phones have been released ???
I bought a new Gen 1 as the Gen 2 offers me nothing I feel is worth waiting for, and I do not like larger phones.

I'm in the same boat and wondering the same thing. I currently have a GS3 and prefer to stick with the 1st gen Moto X.
I'd buy a developer's edition
Hi guys,
I really want to buy the Moto X, but here in Germany the price for a bamboo one with 32GB ist a whopping 600€. And buying the Moto X for 600€, whereas my Nexus 5 costs 250€ less? Yeah no. In addition, the Nexus 6 will probably be cheaper as well, so I just cant justify spending that much money on the Moto X. Does anyone know, where I could get it cheaper (import etc.)? I mean, if I converted the USD price in euros it would cost 450€. Would really appreciate any suggestions

Someone mentioned that they were able to buy the Moto X with a key for motomaker at the Phone House (DE site) with free upgrade to either wood or leather.

Thanks. Do you know what XT model is European Moto X or which LTE bands are supported? Are there different builds for EU countries like were for previous Moto x? You can't find any useful information on the sellers sites and asking them for help is fruitless. They don't know what they sell.

At this moment the pure edition doesn't support European LTE bands. It only supports bands 2, 4 and 17. Motorola said they will unlock bands 3, 5 and 7 soon via a software update. 3 and 7 are the important ones to Germany.

But we still don't if it's pure in the sense that the boot loader is unlockable. Can anyone confirm?
Motorola makes amazing phones but on the other hand it' s full of dirty tricks that annoy its customers. Remember that previous version was different for unlocked USA model, European and even Asian model. Does anybody has already new Eropean Moto X and can confirm that it is XT1095 and not 1094 or 1093 model?

Huh? 95 pure is USA only. Of what dirty tricks do you speak?
Well, it's a long history of them. Browse Motorola forums. Motorola is far to servile to the operators to the detriement of its own customers. Never truely analyzed whether such a policy pays off. I personally believe that their phones could sell better. It's not normal to not reveil significant parts of specifications for different models, weird mess with lte bands, blocked tethering, voip..
And those are only last issues.
Just done a quick live chat with Motorola support regarding Lollipop on the Moto X 2013 and he advised that the soak test is already under way. Does anyone have this update yet? I'm too impatient to wait for the OTA so wondering if anyone has the ROM uploaded anywhere bugs and all?
Not sure how to show screenshot on here but have attached a picture of the chat
The chat guys don't know that much... I would take anything they say with a grain of salt.
@richwright1, I wouldn't consider that "confirmed"
There is no mention of 2013 vs 2014 until you bring it up halfway through the chat, and the Moto rep never mentions 2013 vs 2014, or Gen 1 vs Gen 2.
I also chatted with support here in india.
he said that the soak tests are going on for moto g gen 1 devices in india and he had no info on moto x
I was on the 'MOTO X 2013' support chat and not the 2014 so the live chat was regarding the specific device already if that helps

Here in Brazil a friend of my also received information about the soak test of the 2013 Moto X in India.
Yeah they don't know anything about android 5 update . In morning i read that motorola has started chat support in india. So i thought i would give a try. Here is a screenshot of my conversation with motorola. They are not giving any information about update.
Its gonna be equal of the second generation, first the moto g and after that the moto x.

What does that have to do with the 2013 model? Wrong forum.

HELP !!!
GUYS GUYS HELP ME.
I'll keep it short. Moto X XT 1052 . Screen broken. LCD working. Getting just the SCREEN somewhere but for Moto X XT 1060.
Will there be any difference in the size, shape or compatibility between XT 1052 and XT 1060.
The catch is seller is selling XT 1056, 1058, 1060 outer glass at Different Prices. So, if screen size is same then why different prices ??
PLS HELP !!

You might have more success in a new thread, or another thread about the LCD glass, not the soak test.
To my knowledge, all the phones are physically the same size/shape/etc. The screen should fit regardless of what model it says it is for. Anyone else can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in that thought.
Yaa buddy sorry for posting here. Wanted a quick opinion.
Even i feel that the variants shouldn't vary in the pricing, though i also have no idea why is the seller selling different variant screens at different prices.
I think that they are unaware of the variant number and have used it randomly. I think ill buy that outer glass and wish me luck that i could get it replaces successfully cuz its damn difficult and risky to do that ..
Does anyone have any ideas when the Moto G 2nd gen (I think its 2nd gen?) 4G version will be released?
I've not heard anything other than the specs that were released by accident on Motorola's Brazilian website.
I am debating whether it is worth waiting or if I should pick up the present 4G model at a discount or a used one on ebay.
I'd wait...Retailer Argos in the UK have already announced they will be stocking it. Wait awhile its gonna pop up any day now.
Moto G 2nd generation
Just missed the bid war on the new in a box Moto X for £53.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTO-X-XT1052-16GB-Black-/332122211690
How much do they run usually, new in a box? (XT 1052)
XT1052 never was cheap ) USA models can be cheaper, but prepare for sim/bootloader locks, and limited choice of radio bands.
I'd name 75-90USD to be fair price for mint Moto X 2013.
i am selling mine for $50, unlocked
