Xperia z boot but will not start help please! - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi to all.
I have a big big problem with my Z.
I install the rom with pac and my mobile worked well, but for two days he goes out and does boot on the recovery logo ...
I try to flash another ROM based firmware sony but nothing to do always the concern of the boot logo and kernel then goes live!
So I took the bull by the horns and I will follow tutorial:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454829
but nothing I boot the sony logo and nothing .......
I think it may be a flash rom via Flashtool origin and not just the ftf and rom via cwm I should.
thank you help me please!

what rom are you trying now? Stock based?
CM10 runs on a different kernel to stock. So if you are trying a stock based rom then flash kernel (doomkernel) using adb (fastboot) then flash the zip in cwm to give you wifi drivers

thank you, I have already done this, but now it is impossible to do because my Z does only bootloop!
the bootloop only lasts one second, just the sony logo and stop!
So to be clear: when I plug my Z on the usb cable (or charger) I will bootloop 1 second on the sony logo is continuously quired.
By cons, if I'm not plugged into the charger, I just right one boot on sony (1 second) and Z logo turns off.
I really do not see how .....
I try everything:
flash via flashtool the latest firmware, flash via flashtool
-from a old firmware and after I pass update service for one last attempt was nothing but days!
flash the kernel only doomkernel via fastoboot
but none of this is 3 solution does not work .....

@alessa, flash a stock kernel from any FTF, buy that charge dock and charge your phone.
Stop all and any attempts to revive your phone until you do, you are currently running your battery Dead and when it does it will need a visit to a Sony service center...

I charge my phone all night, morning I made a phone update center, although he flashed the rom, and still nothing ...
Now, mobile is on its dock, I start it, and .... the XPERIA logo, bootanim, but nothing .... it means that he probably is not dead yet.

well, that's it, he started!
but after 1 minutes it shuts itself.

Ok.
Now with 1 minute you will have enough time to flash a stock rom.
Use flashtool, flash the entire FTF (you will lose everything on your phone!) and then turn off your phone. Put it on the charge dock for one hour (it will turn on and show a charge logo).
After that hour you can turn your phone on for real.

Well, if you can enter the ROM, then it's best to start fresh, just to be on the safe side, as you say it still reboots or turns off.
The error message you got in flashtool is one that means only one of 2 possible things: either your bootloader was still locked (or maybe re-locked) or the flash was aborted because of the battery which was just too empty for the phone to accept the flash operation, I had to check that with @Androxyde before I could say so for sure, but the battery was most probably the reason for it to fail the flash operation if your bootloader really was unlocked.
Keep your phone turned off for an hour while on the charge dock, to charge your phone to a point you can play around with it again... and remember to have it charged to 100% full before you try to flash a ROM or kernel again, to prevent these problems from happening.

No, the problem is that you have not unlocked the bootloader yet.
Google sony unlock bootloader and follow the instructions.
But if you are flashing a complete stock kernel then you can flash a FTF for your phone and exclude everything except kernel. Use flashtool to do this not recovery

[Q] stuck on "daemon started successfully"

Hello guy ...
I have a problem with my xperia Z (4.3)
When i run the root.cmd v.(0.17) toolkit then press enter then says "daemon started successfully"
And nothing happen , tried to wait alot but no reponding
What i have done :
1- installing all drivers (all the drivers installed)
2- reinstalling the drivers
3- using another version of the root toolkit
4- changing the pc
5- i am using the original charger (usb from sony to connect the phone to the pc)
6- that happened when i updated my xperia z from (4.2) to (4.3)
7- searched on the internet for this problem and nothing fixed it
wishs that you can help me guys
thanks
You need to unlock the bootloader to directly root 4.3.
If you don't want to do that or cannot, then you need to downgrade, root and flash a prerooted rom.

Not through the usual channels. PC Companion, Sony Update Service or OTA don't work when your bootloader is unlocked. You have to use Sony Emma or the unnoficial Flashtool to update.

You normally only get that error message when your bootloader is still locked.
Did you follow this guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153261
The CF auto root kernel you're using is quite old and newer firmware will not boot when it's flashed. This is the kernel I used after I unlocked my bootloader - DooMLoRD's advanced stock kernel
If you're stuck, you can always restore your phone with Flashtool.
www.flashtool.net
Just download a stock FTF from the general section and flash it. That will get your phone booting again.

sorry for my bad eng.
OK, so as the kernel successfully flashed this time, you already have CWM. When the Sony logo appears during boot, there will be a vibration and the notification led will change colour. Press volume + at that point to enter CWM.

Flash a stock FTF with Flashtool. I'm not sure what's going wrong here, as all the methods and tools you're using worked fine for me.
When you get back to a stock working system, just try again.

So I tried other methods presented here in the forum eg the program (DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v17_perf-event-exploit) and appears the error "ADB server is out of date" and (ADB did not hak) when i try without being in the way fastboot, and when i try in fastboot mode whit sony mobile flasher by androxyde, the software show me this ---> (08/059/2014 14:59:45 - INFO - <- This level is successfully initialized

Can anyone help me or have had this error?
You are trying to flash a kernel on a locked bootloader..you can unlock it and flash the kernel but since you are a noob I would suggest you to downgrade back to 4.1 and root your phone using doomlord's method for locked bootloaders and then install a 4.3 custom rom
Don't try to apply things blindly to your phone, hoping for root. Might end up with a brick. . There's no exploit found in newest firmware to root it while in locked bootloader yet. You can go thorough this index to see what it means and other relevant info about our SP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618222

Happy rooting!
Edit: corrected the link
Can someone please help me as well.. I have an Xperia SP currently running 4.1.2 rooted, bootloader locked.
My aim is to upgrade to 4.3.3 and root, for which i will have to unlock the bootloader. To do so I need a TA partition Backup, for which again, root is required.
So, my question is that is it okay if I take a TA Backup now [in 4.1.2] and then upgrade OTA and unlock bootloader, root and then restore the 4.1.2 TA backup onto 4.3.3 in order to restore DRM keys and Relock the bootloader?
Has anyone done this?
is it safe?

try to boot your device in flashmode
install stock rom
If you failed to install a custom kernel is because you did not have unlocked your bootloader. You need a unlocked bootloader to flash boot.img, otherwise it will fail.
You got a black screen because you have not followed the right steps to install the ROM, some ROM needs to wipe everything (except sdcard) to work properly.

Cant install recovery / can't unlock [Xperia Z]

I Unlocked someones Xperia Z and installed Cyanogenmod and TWRP on it some time ago. It was too unstable for their liking so they reset it to its stock settings using Sony Emma (or whatever its called).
Well now that they've got a nexus 6P, they've given the Xperia Z to me, so i tried to install TWRP and i get errors trying to overwrite the recovery.
Upon inspection of the bootloader lock settings i found it to say "bootloader unlockable: Yes", which indicates it is unlockable but not yet unlocked, and it continues to say this no matter how many times i attempt to unlock it.
Below is a demonstration attempt to unlock the phone and install TWRP:
Code:
[email protected] ~/Desktop $ sudo fastboot oem unlock 0xC431F679A4E1ECEB
...
OKAY [ 0.408s]
finished. total time: 0.408s
[email protected] ~/Desktop $ sudo fastboot erase recovery
erasing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.002s
[email protected] ~/Desktop $ sudo fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
sending 'recovery' (10656 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.337s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.339s
[email protected] ~/Desktop $ sudo fastboot flash boot twrp.img
sending 'boot' (10656 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.337s]
writing 'boot'...
OKAY [ 0.563s]
finished. total time: 0.900s
I've also tried it using flashtool on Windows and similarly it doesn't work.
I can't understand why it would work the first time, but now that its been factory reset the unlock doesn't work.
Have you tried with Xperia z dual recovery? (XZ dual-recovery) . It's very simple to install, for more info please refer to the official thread.

To do that i'd need a custom recovery, and i can't install one because the bootloader is locked and there is no recovery present on the device.
EDIT: ah i just saw the install exploit for unrooted devices. I'll give it a shot.
Didn't work unfortunately :/
I wasn't able to to use dual recovery to unlock the phone.
I downloaded and then installed a 10.3.x.x version of a stock xperia Z rom using flashtool, then i ran the dual recovery setup. EVERY operation reported that the file or folder didn't exist, and that the install had failed.
I was able to root the phone using Root Genius. I then installed TWRP manager and tried to install TWRP from there (this worked on that phone before), but it corrupted the rom so now it just freezes and restarts on the boot animation.
Recovering with Emma does not relock the bootloader. So bootloader should still be unlocked. Recovering with Emma also removes root so you need to root your device before you can install a custom recovery.

You are indeed right! although the problem appeared to be a locked bootloader at first, it now appears it was a corrupted recovery partition.
I, again, set the phone to a stock 10.1.x.x ROM (it was still corrupted from last time so i had to reset it again using Sony Emma) using flashtool and rooted using Root Genius. I then tried to use flashify to install XZ-dual-recovery but it told me the recovery partition was missing.... so i searched around and found the cure to my woes may be DooMKernel, so i set it up, and everything fell into place from there! below is how i believe it worked:
1. Used fastboot on my PC to install DooMKernel v22 as per the official page instructions
2. successfully booted into TWRP
3. used TWRP to install XZ-dual-recovery
4. successfully booted into CWM recovery
5. used CWM recovery to format all internal paritions
6. used CWM to install ROM and root
Thank you everyone for your help!
My xperia z has the 5.1.1 rom and is rooted.
The boot loader is locked and I couldn´t unlock it.
I cannot get into recovery with PC, neither with the buttons.
I like to install a custom 6.0 rom.
any suggestion?
thxs in advance for your support.
