For some reason I just cannot get it to install. I was unlocked and rooted with custom recovery but I've gone back to stock recovery, unrooted and relocked the bootloader and even done a full factory reset. I've tried to download the OTA 4.2.2 update multiple times but each and every time the update hangs at around 35-40% on the stock recovery screen.
My HTC One is from O2 UK but is unbranded and originally had a generic International ROM on it.
Any ideas how I can remedy this?
Same with me.... I did s off and ran the RUU for my phone.... All was well and ota was done successfully..... Bcoz even u put stock recovery and stuff, there are few files missing / changed, which prevent the ota to happen...

I've had mine Rooted with a custom recovery and a custom rom for months now, I was just wondering when the Sense 4.3 comes will it update everything for me as I cannot get OTA? If not, what do I have to do to get OTA back? Do I just have to install an official rom and recovery img? I'm guessing rooting doesn't stop OTA as I was able to OTA in the past on another phone with it rooted.
thanx.

If you're not updating via OTA, then you're only updating ROM. Firmware and radio can be updated manually if you are s-off or if there's a firmware package that matches your CID and MID.
Flashing back to a stock ROM and recovery will allow you to accept OTA, then you can reroot and reflash custom ROM.

Hi;
I have rooted my HTC one GPE (from google) phone and installed clockworkmod recovery.
The day after i received a system update from Google for KitKat but couldn't install it; it failed updating.
How can i get the update again?
i tried manually downloading the KitKat from HTC site for my phone and install it as "Install from a zip" but it didn't work, claiming that i download m7 version while my phone is m7ul phone.
Any help? should i really be going through all the S-OFF stuff before?
Appreciate any links or help
Rami
if you flash the stock recovery image back to the device you should be able to re-check for the OTA and apply it - you can also search for the OTA.zip and then from clockwork you can try to sideload it.
sideloading didn't work
as i mentioned at my original post; installing the OTA.zip didn't work!
I have that same question lol, I cannot flash anything other than 4.2 from CWM. I have the new radio version it seems too. 4.4 finally loaded fine from OTA but it bootloops at welcome screen
I'll let you know if I find anything
You need to do a full conversion to GPE 4.3/4.4, and NOT while you are S-ON.. You will most likely run into issues!

Are u saying that i need to go S-OFF first?
Do u recommend using RUMRUNNER for HTC One GPE device for such task? it didn't work for me
Thanks
Rami
Hey guys
A friend told me, he updated his htc one via OTA with just flashing stock recovery and not relocking the phone.
Is it possible?
I doubt because from the begining I have read everywhere that bootloader needs to be relocked.
Thanks for your answer,

the last update worked for me without locked bootloader

Just stock recovery and unchanged stock rom, rooted is oK, bootloader doesn't matter
there is NO need for (re-)locking the bootloader in order to get the OTA.
You should just have anything stock, i.e. firmware, recovery and unmodified hboot of course.
You receive the OTA if you are UNLOCKED and S-OFF!
Thanks guys.

OK, some dumb questions... I have a rooted stock Tmous device with 4.3 on it. The OTA obviously didn't work. I tried flashing a stock recovery I found online, but it may not have been the right one as I was never able to get it to upgrade.
So can you be specific of the steps necessary to get back to stock firmware, recovery and unmodified hboot? or is there another way to flash Kitkat easily?
I have TWRP right now, and have successfully been able to communicate with my device via ADB etc...

The T-Mobile OTA is very picky about the stock recovery. I had to run the RUU for the T-Mobile stock 4.3 which put my phone completely stock. Then it did the OTA to 4.4.2 just fine. Since I am S-OFF, it was then easy enough to unlock and root. I've since found what appears to be the recovery.img from the OTA 4.4.2 update, so when they release another OTA update, I should be able to simply flash that recovery and get the update as normal. I hope.

Can you point me in the direction of the RUU you used? Of would you DropBox it to me (or some other file share method)?
Also, I'm currently S-On, so do you think my first step is to S-Off?
I've stayed with stock because I need WiFi calling, although I was just about to try Revolution HD 61 which supposedly has WiFi calling.
Any help is apperciated.
I didn't relock, but I did s-off
I've been trying to upgrade to 4.4 for weeks and finally figured out how to do it....
1) Installed Rumrunner to get s-off. I found Rumrunner and instructions here: http://rumrunner.us/
2) Downloaded older TMOUS firmware package that I found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43383588&postcount=2 and extracted recovery.img from it (to get me back to stock recovery)
3) Used Fastboot and flashed the stock recovery
4) Ran the standard update from within 4.3 and let it follow standard OTA process
5) Flashed latest TWRP via Fastboot (for some reason the openrecovery script method from the goo.im app didn't work) which I found here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
Hello,
Let me start by just saying that I'm very new to the whole rooting and android development scene and I'm.sorry in advance if this question is noobish. Anyway I have an at&t HTC one m7 that I unlocked the bootloader on, flashed twrp and rooted. The device was working fine no issues ,recently there was an ota update that my brother got for his all stock m7. So I flashed an img of the stock recovery and relocked the bootloader in hopes of having the update install. I know it would remove my root access but I didn't mind that .
Anyway now my device is telling me there is no more ota updates available.
This is odd because I tried to do the update before changing anything back a nd it got stuck when twrp launched .so there is an update available.
Is this normal or is something wrong? thanks!
Edit, i cant words
