I don't believe there are any Soaks for the X going on right now.
Yeah, once signed up you'll possibly get invited when a new soak for your device is going to start.
With my Bionic, Xoom and other devices, I didn't get invited for every soak, but many of them.

Good to know thank you

4.4.4? Already?

I just updated KitKat to 4.4.3 a few weeks back. Is there really already a 4.4.4 update? I saw this here, but I couldn't tell if 4.4.4 is intended for the Moto X or not.
The first few paragraphs of that link provide you with all the info you asked

Looks like the article was just mentioning the devices that got 4.4.3. I doubt carriers are going to go through the trouble of testing and rolling out 4.4.4 for the X if they've already put out 4.4.3. I think that's why they only confirmed the GPe Moto G for 4.4.4. Just my guess.
Does anyone know if the SSL bug got fixed in our 4.4.3?

Well, yes and no. I still can't figure out if there's going to be a 4.4.4 for the Moto X. No big deal, apparently, but I'd like to know. If I were hit by a bus tomorrow, for instance, I'd hate to leave this earth without having first gotten the latest Android update for my phone.:cyclops:

The last news for today: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/a0e130cc79
Great news but I through the X was the flagship and not the G. Why the G is always updated before it?

Yes, I find that weird too, I mean no disrespect to G or E owners but why X is prioritize last?
Also what does that mean "Indian users", what the hell will happen to users of elsewhere?

Its written Indian users because our phones are not bound by any carrier . So we receive our updates from Motorola directly. For other carrier based phones it depends on the carriers and not Motorola.
Also its little weird that Moto E is getting the update before X, Since X being the flagship phone :/

Guess that updating Moto G and E prior Mot X is rather a technical issue than question of a privilege. Moto X with its 8 core computing system needs much more adaptation than other ones, which based mostly on the plain AOSP . That's also the reason why is so difficult to mod a useful custom ROM for Moto X with full stock functionality.

[Q] Android update to the Moto X

I was just wondering if there are going to be further updates to the Moto X from 4.4?
Any idea how long they are going to support this device for?
I am betting android L, whatever version they number it, will be the end. And maybe a small bug fix update as usual. ?
I heard it would get "L".

L is already confirmed for the moto x. After that it will be getting close to 18 months old so I wont expect further major updates after that.

Thnks a lot for that; perhaps I need to root and get updates via XDA... I guess its already quite an old phone.

[Q] Android Lollipop Update

Today I contacted Motorola Help for an ETA on Latest Android OS update(lollipop) and I found out Its already been released in USA.. is it true
According to news on the Net, Lollipop roll out was put back, as there was a serious battery drain using Wifi.
http://www.zdnet.com/android-lollipop-rollout-delayed-due-to-battery-drain-bug-7000035508/
Not sure how accurate the ETA is as other sites today confirm issue is fixed. So the answer really is we will have it soonish.

And yesterday, I thought the same thing.
Sheesh, Motorola killing it with the update speed: soak tests for both 2nd gen Moto G and 2nd Moto X, even before the Nexus 5.
So, are the soak tests US-only?
The Moto X 2014 seem to got it now
Hopefully we'll be next!

Yup. Mostly US users. But if you are a ultimate feedbacker to Motorola then you may have received it no matter on which country you are. For that we need a carrier free (unlocked) Moto G. Carrier variants will follow shortly.

Reflash?

Ok so I have searched quite a bit and have not found a definitive answer.
I have a 2nd generation moto x with at&t's ROM and all it's "glory". Is there any way to flash the pure edition ROM to it and if so would it interfere with anything like receiving cell signal or OTA updates normally?
Alternatively, at the very least is there a way to get rid of all the crap applications at&t seems to want to cram down my throat?

You should probably post this in the Moto X 2014 forum. This is for The 2013 1st Generation Moto X.

The moto x style?

Hi,
I'm just wondering if when the moto x style gets the software available, do you think we might get a ported ROM or at least ported apps?

There's a few threads about this. Here's just one:

Ahh thanks for the reply. That'll teach me to look first.
I wonder if the devs would have a better chance with the moto x style just because it'll be easier to obtain here in the states versus the moto x pro. I mean I'd stay with my nexus6 if I could get the moto enhancements. I just have my doubts. If it hasn't been done already, I'm starting to doubt it ever gets done.

Why would you think it would be easier to port from the Style than from a Moto X 2nd gen?

That's just desperate thinking from a man who really wants those features on my nexus6. [emoji12]
