Hey all,
This has annoyed me for some time with this device. Music controls do not show up when playing something from google play music app.
I use the swipe pass-lock on my phone with no htc lock screen (they dont work with google play music anyway and I find it annoying to swipe a lock screen before I can actually unlocking my phone...) I remember this was a standard feature on 4.0 or 4.1 so I dont know why its not working here. All that I ever see is a date, clock and weather above my swipe pad. I want the standard music controls when there is music playing.
Before you ask: Yes, I do have "lock screen music controls" enabled in my security settings. It doesn't seem to do anything. Didn't see anything relevant come up with search- has no one else noticed this? I know that this was working with my Nexus S, why is it not working here? Any ideas?
I'll also mention my experience with 3rd party lock screens has been... bad. But I've at least tried

What ROM are you running? I build Beanstalk and it has this function working fine. Carbon does as well. If you are running a stock ROM, I'm not sure though.....
I'm on stock w/goodies one 2.07, I was thinking of switching to viper v3.1 tonight but I'll have to take a look at beanstalk. Thanks!
Still, I've never seen this work so I was kinda thinking it was just sense. I cannot believe I'm the only one who misses it though.
I have lockscreen music controls using google music

Does your homescreen rotate? I thought they fixed that in 4.1??? The homescreen on my N7 rotates. Why doesn't it rotate on the X?

Do you have "Auto-rotate screen" checked in the display options?

yes. everything else rotates fine. just the homescreen/app drawer. this was a known miss for several versions, which I thought was remedied.

That is a feature only for tablets. Quite frankly, it would be annoying on phones, but if you want it, Nova launcher.
Download an alternate launcher such as Nova or Apex and you can enable auto rotate on the home screen launcher.

dammit. i hate launchers. i never got the draw. even when i was a victim of the heavy-hand of Blur, launchers never did it for me. i suppose the old method of modifying a parameter of a file requires root. can't really remember the technical details.
anyway, with the USB on the bottom and the headphones on the top, not having a homescreen (or potentially even the active notifications screen) that rotates kind of sucks.
EDIT: that's right... edit the build.prop file, add the line:
launcher.force_enable_rotation=true

I've been trying to figure this out too, but all I want to rotate is the active display.
do you think something like "active display.force_enable_rotation=true" would work?
Hate launchers? Get my xperia launcher & fix.
I really like the GEL. my only gripe is the lack of rotation on the active display and the persistent google search bar.
EDIT!
I download the apk from the link below. No root needed! Works ok. App is a little blurry, guessing it was made for the smaller phone screen.
But hey, FREE MUSIC and no ads. Sweet! Love the "Dial" where we can switch music on the fly. Using it with my car's bluetooth connection.

Can someone create an apk for this app for our Galaxy Tab 7.7?

yeah it works fine, thank you.
I saw a module related to this player in xposed, I think it helps those that can not run it. if you had any problems, maybe that will help you.
With the recent updates to Soundcloud angering me, and Pandora and other similar apps just not as appealing to me, I'm glad to see that there is a version out there for my 7.0 tab 3. I'm going to give this a shot after I finish jailbreaking my 5s (attempting a 7.1.2 update). Now the debate will continue... Samsung Tablet, Digital Camera... should I go for the phone or stick with iFruit... time will tell I guess this October.
Works with no root?
I have an HTC One and I downloaded the app and it installed but when I open the app it says device not supported. Am I missing something or was the "no-root" misadvertised. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any app, watch face or any option to keep the screen always with the active mode?
I know it will use a lot of batery but i only want it when i am at a party or something similar when you want to call atention. Because at after a day of use i still have like 70%, so batery isnt a problem. if anyone know how to have something similar i would be very gratefull.
I searched all forums and googled it a lot and I am suprised that noone asked anywhere for this.. maybe I dont know how to google anymore
Try out the app called StayLit Wear. It allows you to keep the screen on for a certain time or forever until you set it back to the default timeout. Being able to keep the screen on is also available in Wear Mini Launcher. Note that keeping the screen on for a long time may cause your watch to get hot.

On your watch, go to the wear mini launcher toggles screen where there is a brightness slider and a bunch of toggles then toggle the one with a lock icon.

However started from Galaxy S5, never show it on System Lockscreen.
Recently, i tried Good Lock, and i found, it WORK AGAIN!
So how to change my SystemUI to recovery the feature? Actually, i dislike Good Lock because of so many bugs on Chinese.
Well there is something else but almost same
Go to Samsung Music >> Settings >> tick on
( Control Using Lock Screen)
I hope that helps you

Sorry i can't help you more
You can use Media Utilities for downloading the song's coverart and Tasker to set the Lockscreen wallpaper with the coverart. The trigger event is the new song played notification (use autonotification to intercept it).
It works on my S7 edge.

SpotWidget
SpotWidget adds the classic Android homescreen widget to control your Spotify playbacks.
Spotify's recent version removed the ability to have a homescreen widget permanently. This App is a result of the motivation to bring back the unique Android experience for Spotify.
Installing the App, you will find the widget ready to be added to your homescreen as if it was never removed. A one time Notification Access is required for the App to control the song playbacks.
Download now from Google Play Store!

I have the widget on my home screen, it's just doesn't do anything at all. Also, doesn't seem to interact or to be connected with Spotify at all. Is it working for you?
