Hey guys, i'm new to android and i just got my Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.
I didn't like Touch Wiz much so i rooted my device and tried Cyanogen mod 10 that wasn't stable at all (no calls, no contacts), i know that its still in beta.
I saw Miui rom and i liked it very much but found on later that there is no s3 mini version.
Basically i want light rom (low ram usage + longer battery) that is stable with no issues.
Thanks in advance
You can use CM10 from http://maclaw.pl/downloads/

Maclaw's ROM isn't stable and drain much battery.
I'm looking for a stable ROM too.
As i said earlier i tried CM10, i had major bugs which totally disable phone usage.
I couldn't make any calls whatsoever, i didn't see when people call me also phone couldn't read/import contacts from sim card.
I hope someone suggests a good custom rom :fingers-crossed:
for stable rom try dmod v5 I have been using it for a month now and works flawlessly no issues what so ever.

How's the battery life on current CM builds? I tried some July builds a month ago but they were giving bad battery life due to wakelocks and deep sleep problems.

What I'm about to ask will be a pretty stupid question, but don't you have to have installed a JB. 4.2.2 to flash CM 10.1 or is it possible to do it with 4.2.1 as well?

There is no 4.2.2 Stock out there, so you have to come from 4.1.2

Oh! I get it. You have to perform an upgrade on an already installed CM ROM (e.g 10) and then install the CM 10.1
No. You can update from every ROM. You have to perform a factory reset if you are comming from 4.1.2 Stock.
I looked at cyanogenmod and AOKP sites, neither of them show S III mini as a supported device.
- Is it still possible to install one of them via a custom ROM?
- Otherwise are there good ROMs like cyanogenmod and AOKP for S III mini?
I mean, all in all I want to install a good and latest (possible) android versioned ROM for my phone.
we don't have official aokp/cm.
But maclaws aokp/cm run verry good ,
on maclaw.pl you can find more info about it

how about updating?
say, i installed maclaw ROM (CyanogenMod 10.1 based). when the CyanogenMod 10.2 is ready, will i have to manually update (flash again) or is it automatic?
Manual.get used to it.

i´m testing the aokp-version from maclaw, i still can´t find any bugs!
im using Light by somin.n from begin to newest version 6 - working fine:laugh:
im just posting to get 10 posts...its a really annoying limitation!
I'm using Maclaw's CM from a week, it's perfect, no bugs, and the battery life is pretty great

Hello,
Can someone advice me which Android version is the best for Galaxy S III I9305 at this time?
Thanks
Don't know which is the best, they are all more or less same, some more bloated, some less, and all are based on 2, 3, 4 bases.
If you like TouchWiz, don't need root, than leave it, and apply updates as they come from Samsung.
Basically, there are stock based ROMs, and AOSP, and CM based. If you want to stay on stock base (don't have time to experiment, test etc. Want to have stable basic apps like camera, or drivers for sound and video. But you want root and easy possibility to tweak things.) you could try ripper ROM, and Boeffla or Perseus kernels.
If you like CM, 10.2 nightlies are already enough stable IMO. That is what I am using atm, and I'm satisfied. Only thing I had to change is to switch to SuperSU for root, what's pretty easy. Just install the app from the market, and update su via TWRP/ClockworkMod option.
Main reason I switched to SuperSU is because eXperience pro, and skvalex's CallRecorder didn't work well with CM's super user from Koush.

Hi guys,
My girlfriend just got the S3 Mini (GT-8190N) and she wants it to be rooted and also a bit more slim i.e. without the bloatware.
However I can't seem to find that many ROMS for the phone - is it because it's fairly new (being with NFC)?
If you know of any good rooms - please let me know.
Thanks
Jonas
You can install any rom but your NFC wont work.

In other words, it will perfectly safe to install a normal 8190 rom on a 8190N phone with only NFC not working?
Thank for all of your replies guys.
only your nfc wont be working. i have same phone as you and using maclaw cm10.2.
You can root the device and remove the bloatware with titanium backup.
Hey. which rom is better Cyanogenmod 10.2 from Maclaw, android 4.3.1 or Maclaw 4.2.2 ?
