[Q] How to Fix a Carbon Bootloop That Only Happens on Reboot? - Motorola Atrix HD

I am having an issue with a bootloop only after I reboot. I would like to know if someone could point me in the right direction on how I could resolve this problem. I am using the Carbon ROM on MB886 with arrrghhh-Nov3_2013-CM2 kernel and pa_gapps-full-4.3-20131102-signed. I have figured out a handful of steps, that take no more than 5 minutes, to fix the bootloop, but I am looking for help to find a more permanent solution.

Carbon is based on AOSP, not CM. Try the stock version of arrrghhh's kernel.

I tried the other kernel and I was stuck on the boot screen before the Carbon boot animation, so that it not the fix.
Nevermind, I ended up wiping and reinstalling. I was hoping that someone would know what would cause this issue and I would not have to wipe.

[Q] Is my Tab dead?

I've been running CM 10.1 on my 7310 for a couple of months - it's slow, but it does the job.
Today it started misbehaving more than usual, so I rebooted. It's spent the afternoon rebooting itself about once every five minutes - freeze and hard reboot (Samsung splash screen). I tried different versions of CM and AOKP to figure out if it was hardware or software, no change.
I wiped it and flashed CM 9 nightlies a couple of hours ago, and got the same behaviour. After some googling I found aLogrec and turned it on. As soon as it boots and tries to start recording the logcat, it hard reboots. I figure the onboard flash storage is borked - is there anything I can do? I can't even get it to boot into Recovery, it just loops forever.
I'm hoping someone out there can give me some ideas before I go out and spend on a Nexus 7..
Have you tried to see what happens if you install official ICS with Odin?

You could see if odin still recognize it and fish a stock rom. But by the sound of it I think you're sol.

Odin recognised it and has flashed the right ICS official, but it just sits on a glowing Samsung logo.
Odp: [Q] Is my Tab dead?
I will wipe all data/cache from recovery and see if that works, but I'm not so experienced and you should wait for someone with proper knowledge to give you advice But you just might give it a try
First thing I tried, but thanks for the suggestion

Do s factory reset. That'll work.

I just applied the Honeycomb 3.2 shipped image using Odin and it seems to be working. Going to attempt to reapply CWM and flash an ICS build now..
Glad to hear it worked out for you.

It's been stable on the CM10.1 M2 build all day. I don't know why the official 4.0.4 firmware didn't work, but I'm glad I tried 3.2 before giving up.
Thanks again to everyone who offered suggestions.

Be a ninja and paste the link to the rom you used. I've borked my upgrade too. I can get in to loki for oden to send the rom, just need the rom that will work with oden.
Thanks,
R

I flashed the 4.0.4 from here and it didn't work, so I tried the 3.2 and restored it to shipped state using Odin. After that I rooted and reinstalled CWM with Odin, and then flashed the CM 10.1 M2 build from the Development forum here the usual way (copy to SDcard, reboot recovery).
Good. I should have mentioned you have to start with gingerbread. Could have saved you a step.

[Q] Experiencing random reboots w/ Semaphore kernel?

I've been running on stock CM10.1 since it was released. But, then, I wanted to try Semaphore. Alas, every time I flash it, after less then 3-4 hours, my SGS starts rebooting. I've tried it on like 10 or 12 different nightlies, starting from January. Any idea what's causing this? Any suggestions?
My specs are: SGS i9000, iNand version, CM10.1 latest nightly.
I must mention that i've even tried leaving Semaphore untouched after flashing, as in not changing any of the default settings. Sill, the same.
I hope you guys can help me out here. Thanks a lot!
I had same Problem only a full wipe solved it . Internal and external SD completly wiped.

Do a full wipe and cache and dalvik try then if not check semaphore settings with manager maybe some weird overclock settings
Already did full wipes w/ fresh install of CM10.1
As for Sema manager, I never did any OC on it.
Maybe your using the wrong kernel version check if your using the right one. S or no s version?

I used the non-S version, that's the one for CM10.1, isn't it?
This is bugging the hell outta me. I've tried 11 nightlies, including the M2 CM10.1. All the same, after no more than a few hours, the random rebooting starts.
Any other ideas?
@PB I've been experiencing the exact same issue with Semaphore for months.
I'm on a different variant (Vibrant), but the outcome is the same.
At this point, I've sort of given up & am chalking it up to something in the kernel (bigmem?) is incompatible with my particular device (kind of like how some phones can OC & remain stable while others of the exact same model cannot).
Did you ever figure out how to get it to play nice on yours? :fingers-crossed:

I need some help with my S3 Mini, please!

The problem is that when ever I play any game, or use YouTube, my phone will just random restart and dain the whole battery to the point of not even starting again.
Please help me, I have a rooted phone using Maclaw's ROMS.

I'm currently using AOKP 4.3.1 the update from 2014 - 01 - 23 from Maclaw's, before I used to have CM 11 and before PAC 4.3.
I been changing ROMS because I tooguh that would help the problem but it's not...
The apps I use when it restars are Youtube, Mr.Driving, Minion Rush, etc.
Hmm weird. I don't have any problems with any of those apps. Have you tried doing a factory reset and wipe cache/dalvik cache?

Yes I've tried that, I reinstalled CM 11, factory resert, wipe dalvik cache flash the ROM, flash the gapps and nothing. I moved on to PAC, did the same when flashing and stuff, will have the same problem.
The most weird thing is that my battery will long all the day using Facebook, Messenger, Kik, Twitter, PowerAmp and all those apps, restart free and no issue at all, but when ever I play any game, BOM restart and baterry drain...
Well then I guess it's probably a hardware issue. Did you also have those problems on stock?

I have not tried to get the stock back but I guess I'll give it a try. The problem started just a frew weeks ago when I flash the CM 11 I've no idea what to do, changing ROMS is not the solution so I'll try the stock.
By the way, any advice you could of give me to maybe disscard it's a hardware problem? I mean, how can I be sure where the problem is?

I don't know for sure either. Sometimes a fully clean installation could help (by that I mean formatting all partitions on your phone, except the SD card, because that's where the installation package is located.)
Or you could also try flashing through Odin, but I don't think that's going to make a big difference.

problem:I can't pull up air command and my most beloved live wallpaper is now unusable :crying:.
Background:I flashed azure rom to the first rom slot in safestrap everything was working fine but I wanted more customization, so I flashed hyperdrive rom to the second rom slot to test it.
where I am pretty sure I went horribly wrong: I desperately wanted youtube to have a black background, I looked all over for modded gapps for an android 4.3 touchwiz based rom. Finally, thinking that what I did in one rom slot wouldn't affect the others I decided it flash the modded gapps for slimbean :silly:. Finally I got bored and went back to azure rom and noticed the problems.
how I tried to fix it:
I tried wiping the test rom slot
I tried deleting the rom slot
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app
I tried rebooting
I tried booting into the stock rom
more information:
The wallpaper is vr tunnel max v2.1 and it force closes when I click use album art
I am very sad now
my phone is an at&t note 3
The s pen and the wallpaper are the only problems I have found so far
P.S. I apologize In advance for everything that might be wrong with this post.

[Q] Need help with Bionic, that has Safestrap 3.6 installed but no OS

I work at a cell fix shop and one of my customers brought in a Bionic that his son tried to root and ended up with Safestrap 3.6 installed but no OS. I have done OS fixes by completely wiping the phone and re-installing the stock OS but I would like to just be able to place the stock os in the stock os rom slot but I have no idea how or where to start looking for those files and I have tried searching here for them but I don't know what the official os is for this phone. Any help would be awesome, until this happened I had never even seen safestrap, and I have no idea how to use it and not the time to figure it out by myself. Thanks guys!
If I remember correctly I don't think your going to be able to because he wiped the system, you could try installing the deoxided stock and see

Ok so should I look then for "deoxided stock" for bionic? or is there a specific version # or something specific I should be looking for? Also if you happen to have a link to that it would be awesome
Here's a link
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php?/topic/16256-[Bionic][MODs]-Deodex-&-1%-Battery-Mods-for-Stock-JB-98.72.22
But I did notice it's just the os not the system so I doubt it'll work. You could flash a stock based ROM like FlyingJelly and that should take but it would have tweaks and themes different from stock

FXZ that baby back to stock! I made an oopsie and that was the ticket. Restores file structure and bootloader, etc. Reinstall Safestrap.
