[Q] Freeze and restart - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have recently bought a brand new xperia SP but after about 15 minutes the phone froze for a few seconds and than it restarted it self.
This keeps occuring every 5-15 minutes, I've returned the phone to the store, they sent it for a repair but when it came back the seller claimed that the phone is all right and there is nothing wrong with it whatsoever.
I still get these freezes and restarts and i'ts annoing as hell.
Uninstalling all of the apps that could be uninstalled did not help.
Uninstalling all the updates on apps did not help.
Factory reset did not help.
Re-installing the stock rom (via xperia update) did not help.
Removing sim card did not help.
Removing SD card did not help.
Using different launcher did not help.
Any other suggestions?
Also do I loose my warranty if I install pureness rom but I don't unlock the boot loader?
Thank you

No you wont loose your warranty. I suggest you try another ROM to see if that was the problem.

Will try! Thank you sir.

which one! I asked if you repaired or restored a backup.....
If you repair the phone it should be exactly like a factory shipped phone.
My only other thing to say will be have you got anything in your sd card (Both internal or external) that may be causing this? Any init.d scripts that reduce voltage etc...try deleting the contents of the sdcards and repairing again. (Obviously back anything up you want to keep)

i did repaired twice from PC companion and did once i think from the phone itself, and i don't have Scards its only the phone internal storge..
when i did it first in flash tool it didn't give me any error and then i did repaired it twice from pc companion however whats strange in ICS i never had the reboot problem
and if i remember correctly it only delete the programs etc, but the photos/music etc it never left the phone with both options i did...
so you suggesting to also wipe internal storage and repair to see if it reboot or not? i already have back up for all stuff so it won't hurt to try
thanks alot really for helping and sorry for my bad english ^^;
If you have a backup then try it.
Have you got a bootloop or do you have some reboots? What i mean is, does the phone actually boot up and only reboot occasionally or is it just bootlooping?

Sent from my LT30a using xda premium
so now i did wipe to internal storage and did repair and such now im facing new problem the phone turn off and and when i try to switch it on...it wont work i have to remove battery and insert it again to make it work, any idea?
How this end up? Anyone has find a solution for this problem? I have xperia t with same problem. The phone mostly freezes and restarts on long listings like fb/twitter feeds, messages...
i have TX same on my device freeze and some times don't wakeup only when battery pulled out

[SOLVED] Xperia Z restarts after unplugging charger

Hi,
I bought Xperia Z a week ago and there was update available, I tried to update it, but the phone stuck in boot loop, I solved this via Sony Update Service. So there is new and actual software. It works fine, until the first charge, the charging was ok, but after unplugging I tried to resolve lock gesture, but it stuck and restarts, the restart repeat several times. And after every charging, there are frome three to five restarts and then the phone is available to using.
Unfortunately, the Backup and restore app is not working, it stuck at 8% and then the phone restarts. So I decided to use SUS again, but it doesn't helped. The restarts are still there, no matter if original or non-original charger, so there is no connection to used/downloaded apps.
Is there any help to this issue?
I don't rooted the phone, but the phone is bought as used from credible store.
Thanx for answers
FW: 10.1.1.A.1.253
I'd suggest to restore the phone to factory default and return it to the store. It could be a hardware issue, that the phone receives a to high voltage when removing it from the charger.

for several times after restart?
bump
when I charge the phone to 80%, not full, and then unplug, the phone doesn't restart
Something defiantly seems off. It should not restart. Loke other suggestion it try a factory reset, if that doesn't work u might need to contact Sony for exchange or repair.

try option 2 if option 1 fails
option 1: Repair through Sony Update Service followed by a Factory Reset under settings > backup & resets. (Internal Wipe)
option 2: Flash another FTF file
but then again, it seems like a hardware issue. Suggest you get an exchange if its still under warranty or whatever.

1 - how to repare through SUS? when I connect phone to SUS it show me only the option to re-update phone and it delete all files, so after that is wipe necessary too?
2 - where to get FTF file?

if you bought the phone just a week ago, then why dont you ask your phone-company to resolve the issue. Phone-company is your retailer and from where you purchased the phone.
Why to take risks at your side....

op 1- when it says that your phone is up to date there should but a blue line of words saying something repair your phone if you are having issues, just click on that.
op 2- android development section and some in the general section too.
like i said if you seriously dont want to go through all that hassle just take it back to the shop and ask for a new one and show them that youre pissed off and demand for an exchange or something. Show them how it restarts lol.

1 - oh, you mean PC Companion...I don't think, there should be solution with this, because I tried to re-update the FW via SUS and it didn't work
2 - maybe I have no balls for this...
so, I will claim my warranty for this
thanx for answers guys
LitoNi - so the op1 helped, the problem was in micro SD card, after repair the SD card is dead, but the phone is working well, no restart since the repair (three days), even the connection between phone and linux (MTP) is ok and I can move with files...thanx

My XT resets everything to stock after the battery dies...

A week ago I noticed that after my phone's battery was drained out it reset itself. Every app datawas deleted permamently. The phone acted like a new one. The only apps that were untouched were system apps. Some of the apps installed a previous day were also deleted but its data stayed untouched in /data/data. I had to move these datas one folder up, install these apps again and then move datas back to use the apps just like the day before. But this case with datas happens only for the "uninstalled" ones, the rest of the apps that were not magically self-uninstalled were reset to the state when they are just installed.
About 20 minutes ago it happened again. But I noticed how my phone acted before the battery-drainage death. It dropped just to 2% and then suddenly switched off without any information about "shutting down" or anything. Only the LED blinked 3 times but nothing else... I plugged my phone to the charger and switched it on and voila... it was turning on for about 3 minutes nd everything is reset AGAIN.
Is anyone able to help me? I use .141 FW but this happened on .140 too. Also I have DooMKernel v7 flashed...
Tapped from The Bond Phone!
I have similar problem, after doing many restarts with usb dis/connections, partitions remounts, etc.
I have endless bootanimation and from log I can see that IMEI has 0 lenght and ATcmdfwd service won't start.
Manual factory reset solves it. (I learned to make backups with titanium every day)
Sometimes this happens after shutdown without notification.
Also using DK7 and my rom.
What other mods do you have same as I do?
No serious mod installed at all. Only DK7 on stock ROM and nothing else. I'm really worried because it never happened before, my phone was shutting down with an information and everything was ok. But for a week I was insanely careful not to discharge the battery completely because I didn't want to restore old backups again... but I was curious if this happen again and my thoughts became true...
Tapped from The Bond Phone!
Hmm, so I am suspecting the kernel. I think I will try to return to v5 for a few days.
Maybe it is caused by the Dynamic file sync.
Try everything stock , stock ROM ,stock kernel ,no mods at all. See if it still happens.

Try flashing a other kernel if that does not maybe trying a different ROM will work "cough" cm10.1 "cough

Thanks for the tips! I discharged my phone again and this time it shut down at 4% but with the notification so everything is ok this time but earlier I uninstalled Kernel Tuner and these two resets happened with KT installed. I've installed it again and I will drain the battery another time and see if this was a cause.

Damn, guys... my phone did that again. I'm on XperimenT 3.0 ROM and I was playing Galaxy on Fire 2 when I fell asleep and my phone died. I woke up, turned it on and it was like waiting in a huge queue for about 15 minutes and voilĂ  - everything is reset to stock except from all messages were kept, all accounts were kept, all setting were kept. This is pretty annoying as I don't want to do a backup every single day...
Is anyone still able to help me? If this problem persist I will be thinking about selling this phone and moving to another and I don't want to do this because for now it's a waste of money for me...
Returning to DK v5 solved this kind of problem for me.

[Q] HTC One M7 - Noscreen lock/off after Android Lollipop update

Hello everyone,
I received an OTA update last night for my phone for Android Lollipop. If I had known better, I wouldn't have updated it.
Since the update, my screen doesn't timeout or lock, it just restarts. If I press the power button to turn the screen off, it restarts. I can either shut the phone off completely or keep the screen on, which obviously kills the battery pretty quick.
I tried doing factory reset already, issue is still there. I tried wiping cache partition, same issue.
At this point, I would really like to downgrade to KitKat. Is that possible? And if so, how? I'm on a Vodafone UK contract. My phone is not unlocked.
Any other solution that might help. I don't know what else to do. Please help.

sounds like your phone is broken ..return it if it's Locked and never rooted
Finally fixed
In the end, I had to unlock the bootloader, root the phone and flash a customer ROM (Android Revolution). It worked! Now, I can finally switch my screen off without the phone restarting!
Thanks,
Rose

you also lost your warranty in the process. If it had not worked you would have been stuck paying for a repair
I'm happy it worked out for you

Help! Razr i stuck on boot (again)

So here's my story: my phone was JellyBean. I didn't tinker with it, didn't root, just used some launchers. It upgraded to KitKat. I kept using it, even though I liked JellyBean better. Then one month ago it froze and stopped responding even to physical buttons. I managed to restart it, but it wouldn't go past the intel logo. Somehow I got it to go past it and give me like two seconds on before it would freeze and become unresponsive again, so I got to enter safe mode (all following instructions on the internet, which buttons to hold to manage to get into safe mode). Once in safe mode, I deleted every app that had been recently updated or installed, one at a time, trying to turn my phone on each time, until I finally deleted facebook (that enourmous blue monstrosity taking all that internal space), and the phone seemed normal. I re-installed the other apps I had uninstalled, then one day later, it froze again. Now it wouldn't go past the intel logo. Only then I gave up and used RSDLite to re-install the firmware - BUT! The firmware I managed to find was JB, but I had been wanting to downgrade for some time, anyway, so I unlocked the bootloader and flashed JellyBean. And it worked. I was proud. Then one month later, today, it froze again. I can do the same procedure, and lose all my data again, but I fear the problem will remain unsolved and it will freeze/crash/explode one month from now. Can someone help me figure out what my problem is, or give an alternate solution to try?
TL;DR:
my razr i was stuck on the intel logo screen, I unlocked the bootloader and flashed JB, it worked, one month later it is now stuck on the WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED screen. Please help thank you.
