OK so I have set "USB debugging mode", but all 3 programs that aparantly root the Xperia Z1 dont root my phone, all 3 say "failed to root" why?
Seems only root for downgrade firmware.

Which firmware are you on? If you are on 257 then read one of the many threads in the general section on how to downgrade, root and then upgrade back

Yes, you will lose root with any official update completed using cable and pc

Is there anyway to force an OTA update?

Does this mean I could keep root when *not* using cable, but OTA?
Additionally I have SuperSU with root survival mode which is my last hope to keep root...
Thanks
Hey Guys,
I've been trying to try to get a root on my LT25i on JellyBean.
Till date, I am unable to get root.
I'm looking at using my Carrier's stock firmware.
Build: 9.1.A.0.490
Carrier: M1, Singapore
Read the all in one thread.

Yes it is, just flash an ICS ftf

EDIT,
Sorry my mistake, now I am at my PC I can see you have a V.
In which case rooting is easy..just unlock you rbootloader and flash an insecure kernel.

There does not appear to be a method for locked bootloader.

if you are locked bootloader, you must go back to 2.67 FW,and root by using doomlord method, flash to 4.3
you can't root 101 FW WITHOUT unlocking bootloader.
search it please.

Seen this app that can root phone easily without downgrading and any hard stuff that most of us don't want to risk so can anyone update that app so that it can root our 4.4 kit Kat update
Sent from my C6602 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No. It doesn't work like that. A new exploit has to be found to root KitKat. It isn't just a matter of updating existing tools.

I'm currently on 4.3 nb4. I got my note 3 already rooted. I want to move on to kk. My question is how do I know what root method was used. So I know how to continue.

To my knowledge only kingo and vroot worked on 4.3 and they were the same just different websites
