[Q] home screen froze, alarm suddenly goes snooze - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hai.. I have a problem with my HH and I really don't know why that happened..
my home screen like frozen. I put a clock widget on my home screen and it's show the wrong time, it doesn't follow the system clock. Froze, and I have to refresh (I re-size it) every time.
I also install apps that control my screen to awake when I open the flip cover (I use Smart Cover or Auto Screen On Off) but it's doesn't works the way it should..
I also have a problem with my alarm, every time I using it, it's just turn on 1 second and suddenly goes snooze.
I really don't know why and how this happens.. and maybe anyone have the same problem n find out the solution..
thanks..
I am really appreciate the answer..

What ROM you have? try to wipe your cache/dalvik.

I don't know the ROM I am using but it's already rooted
my baseband version I8190XXALK6
I already wipe the cache using recovery mode but that give no effect.. it's still the same..

Well if it doesn't work, then you may need to reflash the rom. That's the fastest way instead of searching one by one for what and where the problems are. If the problems still there after you flashing then you need to find another rom.

[Q] Problem with S-Pen. Not working at all

Hello,
I have a problem with a friends Galaxy Note N7000, he is running XXLB1, he's phone is branded TIM network.
After the update to LB1 trough Kies the stylus doesn't work anymore at all, with the button pushed or not, not even in the *#0*# => S-Pen Test.
Could you give him a helping hand. Thanks
Have a great day

He is stock and not rooted. Could that be the problem? That he didn't do a factory reset? Judging by the fact that he didn't ever root the device?

did you try his s-pen on another note?
don't have another note to try it on... will sugest going to an orange or vodafone for that
PS: he said after a software update it stopped working... could that be the issue... and be a coincidence the pen broke when he updated the soft.
PS2: dunno if the pen has anything inside that can break:-?
yeah..first of all be sure the s-pen still working good, maybe a coincidence but everything is possible
true ... i agree... will advise him to do that
Just try flashing a different stock rom/kernal. Its probably just a software issue (yes even though it's probably official due to updating from kies). They're all located in the development section

After he does the spen test that would be the last test to do before sending it to the samsung service.

did you have the pen out of the note for long time? If yes it has been discharged. search for anatomy of spen there is a thread somewhere with photos of the inside parts.

Only by sending it to Samsung repairing center or any local repairing center .
They will change your mother board .

try this to see if your phone can be forced to boot up..
remove the battery from phone
connect the phone to pc, and when the pc beeps put the battery right away..
I tried it on my mini since it can't powered on a few days ago. and it worked.

Doesn't matter if it beeps or not actually, my PC didn't beep too when I plug the phone but I just put the battery back on and it booted.
I'm afraid your mini is indeed bricked.
You can try a USB jig or "Jtag (correct me if I'm wrong)..

Dude its expensive (about 150 $)
And it might not work . just send it to Samsung repair center and they will fix it for a cheaper price .
N.B : I did that , my phone got bricked too and as u can it is working .
Sent from my GT-S5570
To me, it looks like it needs to be sent back to Samsung. See if you can get it fixed under warranty, if not you'll have to pay. Good luck.

Hi dheeraj, is it possible that an empty or totally dead battery could prevent your phone from "memorizing" the flashing you do with Odin, so to send the device always in boot loop? I'm asking this since I'm having the same problem that the user who opened this thread has described, even if with a GT-S6500. It can only go into download mode, but not into recovery mode (could it be soft bricked?). I don't know what the previous owner did, but I'm trying to resurrect the phone. Thanks in advance for your help.

thought your problem got solved
no it cannot happen that without battery the memory would be washed out as it is written on a storage kind of device
what you can do is just flash a four package firmware through odin (phone, pda, csc etc. slots filled)
let the phone reboots on it own, after rebooting the mobile will automatically go into stock recovery and will do some processing and you would be done

Weird thing with my LG :(

Hi guys, few months my girlfriend dropped her LG P880 down the toilet... anyway now I have managed to get it to work, I had it in rice for like 2 months.
I had to re-flash the firmware to bring it back to life. If i reset the phone i need to re-flash it so the phone boots up (I have rooted the phone and then I can reset the phone, turn it off and back on and it works), but the minute I take the battery out or when the battery dies it will not come back on. All I get is black screen and BACK / HOME / OPTION is glowing without me pressing the power button and thats it.... Now for me to get the phone back on i need to flash it every time. After rooting POWER + VOL DOWN does not load up the recovery.
NOW IM STUCK Any ideas guys?
Your girlfriends device
for again 2 month in rice
then get a new one for low price...
Sorry for that...
But I think it's verry hard bricked...

If you still having problems after flash with LGFlash Tool ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38838927&postcount=7 ),
my only guess is that you have a hardware issue. Can be caused by some water remains and with time disappear or its some
permanet damage, in that case only LG Service can deal with that.

Manual selection is to let you choose the .dll. You can leave the connection as UART, then select the USB port on the port settings.

See the space between the button and phone body may have some dirt and got struck inside or sometimes if u are a very strong user and press power button very hard, inside of it can break, it becomes very loose and little press is needed to get it active, i hope am clear

Installed all my stuff from scratch with custom ROM and full wipe. Everything is the same and works as advertised. I have no adverse battery side effects and get more life out of my device than on 4.1.2 and 4.2.2. Don't really mind that it says Android system... Plenty of stuff out there that can likely break it down for you if needed.
