Hello
when I'm out all day it could happen I have to put a secondary battery. When I do this (I have to wait a few seconds after powering off and removing the empty one to clear the battery stats otherwise the new one carries the old percentage) and I start the phone the date is reset to Jan 2007 1 AM and changes back to the correct one after a few seconds (because of automatic date feature). The problem is that in the meanwhile some apps/services that start get the fake date and this messes things up. For example if I receive offline Viber messages they go as "received in 2007" or I lose all the stats of Internet usage for the day from 3g watchdog.
Is this a normal behavior? I'm ALMOST sure this wasn't happening months ago. Is the phone supposed to lose the date when you remove a battery?
I think that is normal. When the battery loses a lot of power somehow the phone is unable to keep time and date.

On the contrary it is not normal...maybe the little internal battery that feeds the clock is discharged...it is like the battery of PC motherboards
Accidentally thanked you

are you sure about this? could you try if it happens to you too? just remove the battery for 10seconds and see what happens

It happens exactly the same.
Wrong time and date and after some time it gets corrected.

Its usual if you are replacing it to quick then it will remain otherwise if swapping takes a little time settings will be lost

OK thanks. problem is that if i replace it quickly the charged battery will carry a wrong percentage
Have you tried deleting batterystats.bin when you change the battery?
I have no idea, but you can try if it works..
i tried but it usally makes no difference. the only way to actually get the correct percentage is to lose the date. I wish there was some other way to swap batteries without having these problems
I just noticed that when the gear 2 neo is off and charging, it shows 24hr clock. Is that normal? While it's on its always on 12 hr and so is my phone. I reset the device but still shows 24hr while off and charging
Does it turn back to 12 hours mode when you unplug it?

Yes when I unplug it and it turns on it goes back to 12 hr
Mine is still shipping and so I can't verify but... Is there a recharge options menù? Maybe that's a function similar to daydream for Android...

can any one describe the difference between them ? now im rooted and installed xposed module then installed battery guru then greenify so i need to know is it ok that the 3 features can work together ?? will it be beneficial for me ? why when im on data internet the battery drains so fast !!!!
I would advise you to use stamina and battery guru or greenify.
Only Stamina is quite enough but you could add one app more but to have three or four apps for same thing - that won't well...

This is up to him...
I've had stamina and battery guru and greenify the same time for 2 weeks. After this I've removed battery guru and seriously I did not find any difference. This is my exclusive experience.
You must test what combination is the best for you and your way you use the phone...

I have none, I have rooted the phone and debload t removing most of sony apps and a few google apps (left only gmail, play music, calendar and news-stand)
I always leave on 3G, wifi, gps and automatic sync, plus I have Google now and position enabled... and batery is terrific
At night even if all the above is turned on it uses maybe 1% of battery
What discharges the most he phone is, in order: GPS, SCREEN and 3G
Do not believe those saying that automatic sync in background is bad: it almost uses less than 5% of battery in a day
Uninstall all battery saving app: they are useless
My P9 with B378 is eating my battery like a hungry monster see atached screenshot what can cause this?
Already did factory reset not working.
I suggest you to show us also the apps consumption... But tell us more details... Are you using SD... As external or internal ...Try to format from phone as sometimes excessive consumption is due to old android files on SD ... Also try to locate which apps is draining more gsam battery monitor may help... And you can reflash from zero but this important you read carefully all threads to document yourself... Other cracks here will help you better than me I am quite new on Huawei...

Here ya go
Have you chosed apps to be closed when locking the phone? Only apps i have running when locking is Snapchat and Messenger.
Facebook is a battery killer, maybe you should try Friendly instead?
Also, have you turned off 4G for any apps? Its probably a good idea to disable 4G for the apps you dont use.
I lose about 10% every hour with medium to heavy use (surfing, instagram, friendly, Messenger and so on).
What version of Android are you on?

Apart from androidOS the app that consumes more is email... Could be sync problems?.. regarding Snapchat I cant say nothing as I do not use.. as with muviz... Disable Google backup and check on accounts is someone is getting sync errors...These are fist things to check or try to use the phone without those two/three apps to see if are not properly adapted to nougat for some reason... Or boot in safe mode to monitor how it goes

On B361 my P9 had a bigger battery drain than it had before on B182.
Now on N378 battery life is as good as it was on B182. I'm happy again.
So maybe it's an app that sucks your battery.
Thanks everyone problem seems to be solved now, i disabled or removed all huawei or google related apps now battery life is fine

After a factory reset it's normal to have bad drain for the first few days, google is gathering stats .

Resetting your phone over and over does not solve anything.
If after 5 days you still have drain then it must be some app or config.
hi, my huawei p9 also have battery problem but its kinda different. today before i restart my phone, my battery was left at 42% but after the restart the battery was at 1% and the phone switched off. when i charge it, it starts charging from the previous 42% percent. the battery is also very unstable. sometimes it lasts for long and then suddenly drops very fast with the same usage. is it the battery problem or the hardware. should i change the battery?
Yes thats a known bug. Im waiting for a better nougat version to be honest.

Beter to have a Oreo one on P9, becuase I think that Huawei will not provide to us better version of nougat.
HI everyone.
I have exactly the same issue as here, "SystemAndroid" (with multiple applications) is taking much battery. Some time ago it was more than screen took, however I was able to identify couple of things which were charming battery:
1. SD card was used on Samsung phone and then swapped to P9, formatting it helped a bit.
2. I disabled "Ok google function" as it seems it was keeping microphone always on - few percentage less on SystemAndroid.
3. I have turned off history of location - it helped significantly, now SystemAndroid is on around 17-18% while screen is around 26%.
What also I did:
4. Scanning for BT and Wifi is off.
5. Network data always on is disabled.
6. Wifi is set to do not keep it in sleep.
7. Only 3 applications has unchecked cleaning while screen is locked.
8. Removing of messanger, whatsupp etc did not bring any results.
9. Removing SD card also didn't help.
10. Factory reset didn't help.
11. Clear partition cache also didn't help
But still.. most of people has SystemAndroid very low, around 6-9%. I have no idea what to do next to get rid of it. What is strange I set all settings 1:1 comparing with my second phone (P10 Lite) and on P10 lite there is no issue with this. Same apps, same setting, different usage for SystemAndroid. I had this with B397 and now with B398. Any ideas what could be the reason?
Hi Guys, i need help. After updating my Huawei P9 to EVA-L19C636B381, it takes too much battery to my Phone even though its on idle mode. After checking the battery consumption level, Android OS is the main reason for my battery drain. I've done calibrating my battery and factory reset. How can i minimize this consumption? Is it the new Update problem?
thanks!

same problem here, hope someone can give us a hint in how to avoid the excessive battery drain
Cheers
With my p9 i get 1h of on screen time! ?
It doesn't last 10h of the charger...
I already did 2 factory resets, and it keeps coming back!
Almost 50% of the battery drain is made by Google account manager (28%), android system (9%) and android os (8%).
For me as it is now, the phone is useless...
Tomorrow i call the service...

Found somehow a weird solution that seems to work you need to disable a specific permission within the google play services app disable the motion sensor permission ignore the warning! After disabling it android system stays low
Body health sensor disable on permissions for Google Play Services App right? Going to try that and see if battery life improves noticeably.

Didn't work. Battery lasted 7h... I'm on power bank atm.... :crying:
1hr 20 screen on time. WiFi browsing. 30 mins Spotify. Tiny bit of Facebook.
Load of crap. P9 lite I would get like 7 hours screen of time with loads of Facebook.
