Anyone else having active sync issues? I cant seem to get any of my corporate emails to sync anymore.
Most exchange servers require encryption to connect to corporate email.
Something like touchdown will work. That's what I use.
Active Sync has been fine in the past. I want to test but I've been avoiding adding my work email lol.

I have Hotmail set up to sync to Android through ActiveSync. One issue I am having is that if I move a message to a folder in the Android Email app, it doesn't reflect that change on the actual Hotmail server. However, if I delete a message, it does delete on the server.
I'm not sure if this is just because ActiveSync for Hotmail is so new, Google doesn't really support it, or if its just a crappy native email app in Android. I hope that isn't the case, since I can't get any other mail app to connect to ActiveSync. Any ideas?
Ended up buying Moxier. Cost me $20 but it solved my problem so it was worth it.

Anyone found an APP that will work with Hotmail with a Captivate? Stock, tablet and even K-9 don't support it. There must be a decent one out there! Thanks!

I just forward my live account to my gmail.

Stock email app works like a charm with hotmail. I got 2 accounts configured under it and my local provider email also. Never had issues getting hotmail.
If you want to fully managed your hotmail (delete mails on server) then your right default email app on the cappy cannot do it but it can fetch the mail.
EDIT: Tried delete on the server option and it works. Fluke bug probably.
Do a Google search on "Hotmail activesync android" and you should be on your way use stock email to do push Hotmail. server deletion is supported last time I checked.

Correct .. last time i tried it failed miserably.. maybe just a bug or a bad connection.
Haven't tried it personally, but I do use Maildroid for gmail,Yahoo, and my ISP email. All set to push, even free Yahoo.
I used the exchange server for hotmail on my Captivate, worked fine with the stock email. Set it up as exchange, using m.hotmail.com as the server. Your username is your full email address. I don't have a Captivate anymore so I don't know if you need anything else (like port numbers). Google should give you the rest.
Also, if you set it up as exchange you can choose to sync your contacts and calendar with hotmail.

Hi,
is there an app like chronobis (for windows mobile)
or maybe one like "Outlook Mail" (for IOS)
I'd like to have a convenient way of access my Exchange mail and calendar
without using active sync etc .
has anyone any ideas or successfully used an app for this on the Note?
Gary
Hi!
You mine to have a app like outlook? Not to have data on your phone only "interface" to your exchange account? I use the normaly EMAIL App with "push" activated, nearly like "online" account.
regards
i think the built in exchange client uses active sync to access outlook.
I use Touchdown (free trial available on market) to access my works ms exchange server as touchdown uses different protocols and my work blocks active sync.

I suggest you have a look at www.syncdroid.net
They have a comparative grid and an honest review of almost every good sync app for this purpose of syncing with outlook.
By the way, companion link is thier favourite... but then it just depends on what YOU need!!
Why you ask for OWA and then ask for an app ?
OWA runs in your browser.
I too use touchdown for exchange access w/o active sync... . Works well . .
FWIW prior to gb 2.3.6 (but > froyo) there was a funny obscure boog (ssl related android boog) that caused booth touchdown (in owa mode) and owa in browser to malfunction.
Because of this and that i use linux on my worksations and laptops full time. . .I use a widget called davmail (goto sourceforge to find it). DAVmail is a sort of exchange proxy that turns owa into other common mail and calendaring protocols. . .
It is not an app. . .but an application you run on a desktop, workstation, server etc... Then you can configure just about any email app (on about any device) to pop or imap email to your davmail install. . Etc.etc.etc.. it worked fine using whatever the email app is that comes stock or with common roms for an SGT.

Intersting site but no owa sync that I could see
I might try some of the software regardless

Yep OWA is accessible via the browser but isn't offline
so I effectively want to save it's data. there are program/apps that work by effectively attaching to echange as an "OWA" client and bring the info over

I'm running Gear Manager 1.5.120903 and Software UAMK7 on Note 3. I'm considering returning my gear because i don't not get full body notifications from Touchdown, my work email exchange client, I do get the title of the emails but to see the full body I have to go manually into the app on the watch. On the other hand gmail works just fine. Any fixes?
I understand the Sony SWII gives full email content notifications.
I believe that it is because your Outlook server has security settings that make it that way. Mine did. Also made it so I had to have a lock screen with a pin code to unlock.
I Google searched Outlook no pin for android 4.3 and found a solution that worked. I had to flash a zip file.
Anyways. I think the issue is with your email server. Not the watch...

Thanks but can't root my phone as IT can tell. However why does Sony S2 work? Just bought one today and the touchdown email comes thru as a notification complete with entire email body
My company changed over to requiring Maas360 and TouchDown for accessing the 2010 Exchange Server. I poked around through the TouchDown settings to find the new server address and was able to setup my work account using the stock email app. TouchDown is still installed but pretty much disabled. I have had no issues with my work email account and get most of the email body on my gear. Don't know if this will work for you, but it's worth a shot.

I'm fairly certain that this is because Touchdown isn't specifically designed to work with the Gear, and as a result it's just trying to do its best. If Nitrodesk updated their software to specifically communicate with the Gear it'd work ok. You may want to send them a request email, I'm probably going to.

WOW this was great advice So Simple never thought to give it a try or even considered it would work. I now have complete email messages on my gear thru exchange. Thanks
Hello-
I have been banging my skull all day trying to figure this one out. I am trying to set up my gmail account using the stock email app using exchange. I am trying to have a combined inbox from all three sources of my emails vs having different apps for each email provider and I want instant emails (hence using exchange). I have set up my msn and live accounts with no hitches using exchange but I keep getting the error "you do not have permission to sync with this server".
Questions: first off, is what I'm trying to do even possible or do I need to use IMAP? Will IMAP get me "instant" emails since the settings only show frequencies to receive emails (i.e. every 5/10/15 mins etc.)?
Please help, I'm losing sleep....

"Still getting same error...you do not have permission to sync with this server". Thanks for the info though, any other ideas?
Are you trying to setup a gmail account to sync using activesync? If so, you won't be able to as google stopped supporting that last year:
