I have found this question answered in opposite ways, but with my sprint htc one rooted with S-OFF how do I flash the 4.3 firmware ? Some posts say I have to put my phone back to stock then take the sprint ota updates, then unlock my bootloader once again. While others list that I flash a 4.3 firmware zip in recovery and that is all there is to it ? I just dont want to brick my phone, but I think I really need the 4.3 firmware badly. Running all 4.3 roms my call signal will be full bars then none without moving and most of the time no bars, but if I place a call my signal will stay on full bars this all being a place I have full signal, as I have a network extender and no other phones have this issue here they are all full bars constantly. Hopefully someone here can give me the right info on what I need to do and where to get the correct 4.3 firmware download if I can just flash it from recovery and if I can do that rooted or if I have to go back to stock. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
You would want to flash the rooted 4.3 firmware OMJ posted it somewhere. The other method your talking about would be flashing the stock 4.3 firmware, which would work too.

I'll tell you what I did. First I updated recovery the latest twrp. Then I downloaded the firmware for S off users here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46123838
I put that zip in my adb folder on my pc.
Then flashed it following his instructions using fastboot commands.

Since I have s-off couldnt I just flash the 4.3 firmware zip in recovery instead of using abd tools and a computer ? Or could I even flash the 4.3 firmware zip using the flash image gui app ? Thanks for posting guys, appreciate your help !!!!

We don't have an External Micro Sdcard so we cannot flash from the bootloader unless....

4.3 firmware needs to be flashed through fastboot. Recovery wont work.
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot reboot
I did all this, the phone booted up and then the touch screen stopped responding, Now ruu ing back to the first version.! I downloaded the 20 mb file and sent it through fastboot. Then nothing happened
I got my 4.3 firmware flashed on my sprint htc one flashed to straight talk verizon s-off with moonshine. What are the improvements that I"am supposed to see ????
I have had problems with all 4.3 roms and I have tried them all, my call signal most times shows zero bars when its full signal, sometimes it will go full bars but always goes back to none fast and the phone is never moved.
I thought flashing the 4.3 firmware would fix this issue but it did not.
Another thing is I use it on a verizon samsung network extender at home which its the old model the first model they came out with that was call signal only no 3g data were the newer model has 3g, but I notice it does this when I"am not home sometimes also but I have not really watched it while running errands in a good while. When I"am on the network extender when I call out or on a call received my phone will show full bars the whole time.
I think its working ok, but the no bars on my phone is annoying I mean I might as well not even have bars on my phone at all if they are not going to be accurate.
Anyone have any ideas ?

fastboot flash the attached kernel image (its the one labeled Telstra_boot.zip)
extract the boot.img out of this file and place in same directory as your fastboot.exe/fastboot executable
boot phone into hboot/bootloader (make sure you are in fastboot mode)
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
it should complete without error
after that, reboot to recovery and flash rom

I through together a .bat for an easier boot.img flash.
1. Unzip
2. Plug in phone to usb
3. Ensure usb debugging is enabled (Settings/Aplications/Development)
4. Run the BootImgFlash.bat
When its complete just go back to bootloader, then to recovery and flash the rom

DO NOT FORGET TO WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET FROM CWM FIRST! if you dont, you will probably have a whole lot of FC's on your hands (only if coming from another ROM/Stock)(if you are upgrading....you probably dont have to wipe, but if you have problems, wipe, reflash, then report)
obligatory screenshots
If you need to return to stock for any reason, you will need to boot to FASTBOOT and relock your bootloader with:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
reboot to fastboot again, and it should say **RELOCKED** at the top
put this file on a microSD card as is (it should be named PH39IMG.zip), power down phone, insert microSD and boot back into bootloader. it should automatically find the zip file and flash the stock image (this includes recovery, system, everything stock. its the same as running the RUU, only you dont need a windows machine for it )
after that, if you want to re-unlock your bootloader, you will need to run:
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
just like the first time you unlocked it
I can provide the stock rogers the same way if needed.
Attached is the stock boot.img for the ATT Vivid.
downloading now flashing soon thank you for your hard work

battery drain is unreal, and its not stepping very well. about to install setcpu and see if i can get some proper profiling
hmmm.... according to setcpu, the 'default' minimum for it was 1134mhz.
i would recommend installing setcpu if you are having battery drain. so you can at least set a lower minimum

If your problem is transferring files, can you not go to recovery and use usb-ms (while attached to the computer) which will then open the memory of the phone on the computer. That's what I did to transfer stock ruu when I recently bricked my evo 4g.

you have the same problem I had at one point, Does yours boot up and lock up? cant get wifi or cell signal? if so you need the sprint firmware img

Because when you are in bootloader, there should be something that says what radio version you have, by your previous post, it seems that you do not, so try this out!

Installing radio firmware is not done in ADB and it certainly cannot be done through recovery. It's done using the fastboot tool (fastboot rebootRUU).

The URL from which my phone downloaded the zip file was
Code:
http://fotadl.htc.com//secure/OTA_DLXPLUS_UL_JB_50_hTC_Asia_HK_1.23.708.3-1.11.708.1_release_33417443z3iqny0zggdtbr.zip/surl:kid=25,et=1380040924,h=694B5DE0FC46CD0CD069E539232CF864
That would mean it was released by HTC directly.
Anyway, there's no way a telco could push out an OTA for the Butterfly S as to the best of my knowledge, there's no branded version of the phone.
4.3 is being pushed out to the HTC ONE. Hopefully we will b seeing it soon as well.

Actually I have a problem with the new update,
Installed it today (901s) by OTA and now my phone just resets every now and then,
already 4 times by now
I think the update just wasn't installed properly, because after reset I get a message that my device was updated..
the problem is that I don't know and don't think it's possible to re-install the update without unlocking the bootloader,
in the meanwhile i'm just hoping 4.3 will roll out soon so the problem will be solved
if anyone knows what to do i'll be really thankful!
edit:
just noticed notes update is gone after a reset, had to install again, so it really makes sense that the device is stuck on the update install

Thats the worst part of it- I can't perform a factory reset.
tried through the settings, than a hard reset through HBOOT, even got into recovery without root by this method:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K0zdRPwJ0g
But nothing seem to work. I get the Boot animation, a black screen, if i'm doing it through the settings or the hboot I get a screen of red triangle with exclemtaion mark(that indicates I don't have root), and then, device just starts up again.
This is really weird, I never saw something like that, and I have no idea what to do.
install custom recovery and reset from there?
if your bootloader is unlocked ofcourse and dont forget to put the stock recovery back afterwards
If you don't want to unlock your bootloader, you can try fastboot boot custom-recovery.img to boot TWRP or CWM without flashing, although I'm not sure that will work. Still, worth a shot.

I don't want to do anything that can void the warranty, since if i'll need to send it for repair back to Hong Kong it'll cause problems and very expensive fees for the repair.

Exactly as I wrote. Download either CWM or TWRP and try to boot them via fastboot. Boot, not flash. You'll need to reboot into the bootloader (hold the volume down button while the phone is booting up) and type the following command (assuming the file you downloaded is recovery.img):
fastboot boot recovery.img
It's possible it won't do anything or that it will just boot the regular system, but if it does succeed, it won't flash anything, just boot into the custom recovery. Then you can perform a factory reset or reinstall the stock ROM from a ZIP.

I'm sorry, i'm new to HTC device. had HTC Hero once, but it's all different now.
How do I write the command? and where should I put the CWM file?
I had another random reboot last night while it was on charge.
Any one else had this after this update?

the only problem i am havin is the flickering that happens when i cut the phone off and its on charge. I think this happens because of the battery animation but after a while it does stop and shuts off completely and starts to charge

I recommend googling a tutorial on how to set up adb and fastboot. The general steps are to download the Android SDK which contains both tools, extract it somewhere, add the location to your $PATH, then download the recovery image, save it somewhere, navigate to that directory within your commandline, connect your phone via USB, reboot it into bootloader (either by rebooting it and holding volume down or by typing adb reboot-bootloader) and then type the following command (substitute recovery.img with the actual recovery image file name):
fastboot boot recovery.img

Same here, in Singapore... yet to receive the update... whats the change log?
while trying to get a recovery to work with no avail, i wiped cache and did a factory reset and now i am in a boot loop. wish i could remove the freaking battery. just got my phone today and the first thing i did was updated to sense 4.3. I then unlocked the bootloader successfully. I started having problems with flashing a recovery even though the bootloader said unlocked and tampered. twrp would not boot, but i got cwm to boot. the problem on cwm was i didnt have access to all the folders like the downloads folder that had the su zip. I did have avast already installed while i was trying to root(going to activate antitheft once rooted) i thought avast might be the problem so i uninstalled went back into recovery wiped cache and did a factory reset hoping cwm would access the folder i need nope. so i was calling it a night and booted up the phone and now it is STUCK. It was easier rooting my evo 3d with brick method. PLEASE HELP ASAP
