Recently purchased a C6902 from Newegg. I rooted it to .257 using the flashtool|vRoot method. If I wanted to downgrade to .534, which version of the ftf should I go for being in the US? Does anyone have the US Version, or does it even matter?

I'm not sure if it matters, but this should answer your question:
Go to phone and dial *#*#7378423#*#* to bring up the service menu. Tap "Service Info," then "Software info." Match "Customization Version" with the appropriate C6902 firmware from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469191
For example, if your "Customization Version" is 1277-1348_R1A, then flash the C6902 14.1.G.2.257 Commercial/Journalist 1277-1348_R1A firmware.

you can flash any version, as long as you un-click baseband , so you do not loose it

Two ways to do it.
Either you can flash an old version of Singapore firmware and then upgrade it to the latest via PCC or SUS
Or
Root you existing firmware and use the Singapore SI number and then do a repair in the PCC or SUS
Please note that both ways will make you loose your data. So backup before proceeding.
Alternatively, find an Singapore FTF and flash it over your existing version. That should keep your data and settings in tact.

Hi!
Sorry if this may have been answered before but...
I upgraded my software OTA from .257 to .290 and after various resets/repairs and reloading the.290 upgrade (via PC companion), I still had Bluetooth problems with my car audio and the hands-free system, which I rectified by using flashtool and "downgrading" my software back to .257 using this ftf -
C6903 14.1.G.2.257 Vodafone UK 1276-0815_R9A
Now that the .136 version is available, my phone still prompts for an "upgrade" to .290 and also informs me of this upgrade on the Sony PC companion.
Do I need to upgrade to .290 then to .136 OR
Can I use one of these ftf files to flash my phone using Flashtool -
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic RU 1276-7743
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic DE 1277-0154_R2B
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic IT 1276-0557_R2B
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic AU 1277-0078_R2B
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic FR 1276-5833
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic BAL
If so, which would be the best ftf to use and would I lose any Vodafone settings etc on my phone?
Any help will be appreciated!
Regards,
Alan

This way you have to do it via PC Companion because it will not let you jump to .136

All the FTF are Unbranded with the specific main language and they are without Vodafone bloatware and you will lose even the Vodafone boot screen. If you do not use any language from the list then I will consider the to flash C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic BAL via flashtool. To keep data on your phone just uncheck Wipe Data in Flashtool and you are done.

Hi eclyptos,
Thank you for the reply! I'm from the UK so if I flash the generic BAL version, will I still get the English language on my phone? Not bothered about losing any Vodafone stuff, apart from network settings etc..

Yes, you will have English language. In the case of network settings you just will have to call Vodafone to send you the sms again with the right carrier settings or do it manually.

Hi eclyptos,
Thank you for the reply.. I will probably have a go at flashing the .136 ftf later in the week and see if the bluetooth works with my car audio.. Hopefully will.. if not, I will flash back to the trusty .257...
Just tried the .136 BAL ftf and the Bluetooth doesn't work! Did not try a factory rest just kept the data when using Flashtool.. so its definitely the 4.3 version of Android that has screwed up the Bluetooth.. Great! Back to .257.. for another 23 months....Thanks Google/Sony NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Phone: Bell C6906 LB 14.3.A.0.681
Cant seem to find the right information on this.
When I tried to flash the 534 Rogers firmware I get a bootloop, however there is no generic 534 firmware for the 6906, only 290 and 257 (Generic CA 290 and 257 both flash fine).
Is it possible to flash a 6903 firmware and exclude the baseband in the flash? Or what firmware should I be flashing to get onto 534?
Flash the Rogers FTF .534 for C6906 and exclude Baseband.

Negative. I still get a "SONY" logo bootloop after flashing CA Rogers 14.1.G.1.534. (In flashtool the firmware is recognized for C6909) even though it was download as 6906.
Guess I'm not getting root

Strange - I was able to go from a generic C6906 to the Rogers 534 FTF and then back to generic. Can you do a SHA-1 hash check on your file? Maybe the file was corrupted during the download.
The file that worked for me had the following signature:
D4A87945BA556ED4195C9EB723550AD4921BCFB6

Firmware carrier doesnt seem to make a difference, i am on bell aswell and i just flashed the files in that.
if mobile data does not work you have to add Bell APN's in Settings>Wireless & networks> Mobile networks> Access Point Names
good luck
I had to flash 543 a few times. eventually it worked. was stuck in a boot loop.
Hello!
I have a problem with downgrading my Z3c from LP to KK. I followed this threat for rooting the device http:##tiny.cc#1qs2ay (- change # to /), but got stuck at #12. I am getting into a bootloop or some kind of rainbow-effect. I recorded it with my other phone -> https:##youtu.be#S7nHgrI2MJQ
I used all of this stock firmwares http:##tiny.c#dws2ay and wiped every time the apps and userdata. An upgrade to MM was possible.
My phone has no simlock and the bootloader is locked. I used the flashtool 0.9.20.0 and installed all drivers (OS Win10 - disabled driver signature enforcement):
Sony sa0111AdbDeviceClass - 04/15/2014
Sony Net - 05/05/2014 (Status not needed??)
Google inc WinUSB - 12/06/2010
ggsomc - 11/10/2014
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any help!:good:
I had the same issue it's simple : you may have forgotten to wipe everything in flashtool before launching the installation check the wipe boxes.

Z3 Compact have 2 models, D5833 and D5803 so you probarly flashed the wrong firmware. My model is D5803, dated 15W25 (Year: 15, Week: 25) and downgrade to Kitkat is working fine

The upgrade to MM with the firmware for D5803 worked and the model number in the menu "About phone" is D5803. See the attached file. Is it possible to somehow format everything and than install a new firmware?

the flashtool does wipe everything when you flash a firmware. it does not replace withouy wipe. try dowbgrade to LP, root with Kingroot and flash custom recovery in your phone to flash pre-rooted firmwares
Device: C5306,
OS: 4.12.
Past status: no sim lock and bootloader status: YES,
Current status: sim lock and bootloader status: NO
In Short
I have a rooted device with no sim lock and bootloader status: YES, but after flashing ftf, I got sim lock with bootloader status No
I wanted to update my OS so i downloaded this (12.1.A.1.201_GENERIC ftf from this stock ftf thread). I mistakenly flashed the C5303 ftf on c5603 with flash tool and the flashing process ended with system sin processing error.... .
after doing some search, i found that flashtool version is the reason so i try again with flashtool 0.9.18.6 version and This ftf flashed without any error but on booting the device, My phone get sim lock with Boorloader Status: NO.
Right now, I have no idea of my original customization version,,, I have no backup except a ta backup of my device....
does info like IC, SI, S/n, FCC id on the back of xperia sp can help me to solve this issue.....
Please help
Use Xperiafirm (it should be included with Flashtool) and look for the C5306 firmwares (there are like 4 of them). Use the generic one if none of them seem to be your original one.

Flashtool (0.9.25.0) doesn't work for me
I m using Flashtool (0.9.18.6) and Xperiafirm versiom 5.2.7 but Xperiafirm doesn't show Xperia SP in its list.
Update: In a panic, I flashed the PCT branded ftf , which includes the simlock.ta and flashing process gives error after flashing it.. Do you think this is the reason of simlock and Bootloader status No...
Can you help to download the correct ftf for C5306 using xperiaFirm.......
Update: Xperia SP is removed See this
Please help me
Ugh... If Sony removed the phone from their servers, your only hope is looking for a C5306 firmware over the Internet. There was a thread with almost all of them over here but I don't know if those ones are still up.
About the "sim-lock": yeah, the wrong firmware probably messed with that on your phone. Now, I don't have any idea why your BL allowed status changed from YES to NO, though.
