Red Warning caused by? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This has properly been asked over and over again, but hard to search on the xda app.
The so called "Red warning" is that there because of being S-off or unlocked?
I mean just unlocking the bootloader using HTC dev, will that trigger the warning, or is it fue to s-off.
I am a bit confused about it, as I did not see any post regarding the red warning prior to Rumrunner bering released..
Did s-off using revone also give the red warning?

i belive it is caused by having a custom recovery installed s-off has nothing to do with it but it can be removed if you are s-off http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316726

Ok, I only imagined that custom recovery caused tampered to appear in the boot loader
So the red warning is also triggered along with a custom recovery being flashed..

it will come up when anything is not stock also running a ruu will remove it

Just to make sure I am not misunderstanding... I am not asking what causes "Tampered" to show in the boot loader...
I am only asking about the Red warning when booting

Oh sorry misunderstood that shows up when you unlock bootloader

Yeah done that still saying tampered and re-unlocked
Read this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209616 - for reference. Vendor should Fix/Replace/refund the purchase even though the phone was rooted/unlocked/tampered. I assume you want a replacement from mechanical defect (gap?) and that is difficult to cause by malware.

Help I am stuck in bootloader

It says tampered, security warning, relocked. I used hasoon2000s toolkit to relock bootloader and now it is stuck. What should I do? I can not get out of bootloader either and there is nothing I can do? Can anyone please help?
Either unlock it or run the RUU. A locked bootloader will check for discrepancies between what is supposed to be written and what is written.

From what I've read is S-Off is base security off completely and bootloader unlock isnt needed. Im just leaving my bootloader unlocked in case.
Hi
greetings,
unlock bootloader gives access to partial system files
where as S-OFF which means security off will give you full system access
if your s-off and locked bootloader then you can not use fastboot\abd commands. for that you need a unlocked bootloader.
but you being S-OFF you can directly flash a patched hboot which will give access to bootloader option ( do not know if its available right now)
so you will have to unlock your hboot or flash a patched hboot.
you need fastboot\abd commands to flash recovery and that needs unlocked bootloader.
I don't believe that's true. You have to use fastboot to unlock the bootloader and I used fastboot getvar all while locked.
I just wanna know if I can flash a Rom with locked bootloader and s-off.

I have a HTC butterfly and I already did that we now have s off and we can change our relocked to locked on our bootloader. Once ur s off u can use custom recovery and root and also flash roms when bootloader is locked I did it couple times jus make sure u have cwm or twrp as the recovery. But for ur phone I don't think so because we don't use fastboot oem lock command no more we use a flashable zip to lock

Yes you can flash a ROM with S-OFF and locked but you can't flash a custom recovery whilst locked unless you have a ZIP you can flash via fastboot (like it used to be with the Sensation/Desire). Leaving it unlocked doesn't actually matter as if you ever need to send it back to HTC you can reload the stock ROM and lock it again before doing so. Everyone wins
Thank you for the answer.

[Q] 4.1.2 to 4.3?

Hey all I'm new to the HTC one and am a bit confused. I just got this thing yesterday and have unlocked the bootloader(HTC Dev), rooted it(SuperSU), and tried to S-off but it ended at this"must sanitize, skunky rum is nasty
hold please..............................................
[TTTT********************************************************]" so I'm not sure if it completed fine? Oh well. My question is...Can I upgrade from stock(4.1.2 to a ROM like ViperOne(4.3)? With no problems? I used to build SlimRoms for the Samsung Infuse and I know we couldn't just jump up builds like that. We had to go one android version at a time. Is this the case with the HTC one? Any help would be appreciated Thanks guys
Which hboot do you have? (you can check it in bootloader longpressing power and vol- when the phone is off).
If you have 1.44 hboot, i advice you to use the revone tool!
I believe I do have 1.44. I tried running sujo(?) Again and this time my phone rebooted to bootloader then to my phone's main screen and I had no data and couldn't unlock my phone. It said adb failed to load or something like that and "YOU fix it.." so I rebooted it and it's fine now..maybe dumb question how do I find out if I'm s-off or on? Because it may have worked..

What's sujo?
However, reboot in bootloader and check the s-on/s-off and the hboot

Reboot into bootloader (adb reboot bootloader or longpress power and vol- when the phone is powered off).
At the top you will see a line with the S-ON or S-OFF Text.

Same thing happened to me 2 nights ago, you have to install through redrummer twice, everything sticks the second time. I didn't read it completely when I did it.

So, I tried rumrunner again and this time it worked perfect. Now my device says S-OFF!
Now, Why does the OTA update not appear for me? Is it because my bootloader is unlocked? If so what's the safest process to go from 4.1.2 to 4.3? I'd like to update to the ViperOne ROM. Thanks for any help guys I really appreciate it.

The OTA depends about your cid.
However, you can upgrade to the ViperOne, just flash it in recovery.
p.s. I advice to flash the 3.62 firmware, so you will have a phone like the stock but with the Viper
