Ok I know I've seen it some where but can not find or figure it out at all anymore...can't get in the lap top due to ask the running for the little ones dance and the search box for xda likes to disappear when I click it...
Ok anyways the question is I hover on 5-9 gb free on the sd card... There is also another folder in there that shows "sd0" had the same exact info pix,etc in it...am I running into duplicates on my phone robbing up space? I'm lost on where to go or look Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I notice that when i mount my sd card in ubuntu that there is a folder that says tombstones. i was wondering if anyone knew what it does or is? will it be a bad idea if i were to delete the folder. i have a class 6 8gig with a 570isg MB ext3 and im looking to make it a little faster if possible.
that's where we keep iphone corpses...
I honestly have no idea, it must be something that came with your card. Are you looking to make the card itself faster?... or the phone with a swap partition...
just mount it and see what there's in there. Back it up if you feel you should, and then partition away...

Could be a folder associated with an app you have. Don't really know tho. If there is nothing in the folder then I would say you can delete it. If it is associated with an app then whenever that app is ran it should put that folder back.
first off, i do hope it has not been covered anywhere else, my searches did not find any answer.
I am currently running PA JB 1.991
all is fine and dandy, but i can't seem to make my note put pictures it takes to the external SDcard (who named the internal memory sdcard anyway ? )
in the past i thought there was a setting for this, but i cannot find it anymore in this version.
any help will be greatly appreciated !
cant help with original Q, but good point, why name sdcard confusingly sdcard. Its like inviting us to hack hardware and place bigger sdcard in. However, that is not possible, because I dont think it even litterally is an SD card, lol. Probably a workaround in android. Who knows.

This is what I did using stock ICS: Open camera as if you were going to take a photo. See the settings icon at top of screen? Scroll through until right near the end and you will see "storage". Make your choice. Hope that helps

that's indeed what i did in the past, but in the JB camera app there does not seem to be such an option ...
would it be ok for me to install the ics camera app onto my gnote while running JB ?
Hey, looking for a bit of help here. Just yesterday, I updated from trickdroid 5.4 to 7.0. I followed the instructions on the website for upgrading to android 4.2.2, and everything seems to be working fine... except that my SD card is nearly out of space for some reason. Currently, windows is showing 7.31gb available out of 25.4 total space. The strange part is that none of the files contained within are using any of that space... in fact, when I select all of them and check the total amount of space they're using up, all the folders total to only 5 megabytes. MEGAbytes! No hidden folders, either.
I'm wondering if any of you know how I can get that space back? Would be wonderful.
Thanks in advance!
PS. I posted this in the Trickdroid thread as well. I searched around and I haven't found a solution to this one yet. If I missed something, feel free to call me names and point me in that direction.
EDIT: Formatted it. Works fine now. Commence mocking.

I know it's been awhile, but I have the same issue on my wife's Note 2. Did you find a resolution?
It's here! I love the look and the feel. Great phone, but I have two questions. First, I thought as superuser you could transfer all the apps to the SD card. I tried, but there are a bunch on there I can't move. I am using BB9.
Second, I need to transfer my contacts from my old phone. I might be able to sync it with T-Mobile, but I just got off the phone with a rep (I did not mention that I am not running a stock UI) and apparently none of the contacts I synced with T-mobile.com are there.... Is there a way to send these? I'm not going to type 500 names individually.... I looked for an answer, but couldn't come up with one. If this question has already been answered (which I am sure it has), just post a link to the response.
Thank you for all your help

Looks like the difficulty moving contacts may be the SD card. For some reason, the Galaxy S is not writing the contacts to the SD card. I am going to try a different card, but I suspect the problem is with the phone, as apps store on the card just fine.
the SIM card

contacts problem solved.... now, it's just the app question.
ok i searched this issue but found nothing useful or helpful to fix this but every picture i take seems to dissappear after a few minutes and all i get is a gray triangle with an ! mark inside it for all pictures taken by the camera. anyone else have this issue?
im on bady boyz rom
rooted s-offed
h/k m8
No body is having issues with pictures not displaying correctly?? Im on ViperONEM8 rom but it did this on the stock rom and badboyz as well. must not be rom related but i dont know so sum one have any ideas what the issue is? thanks
Have you tried changing the storage location? Also, are you restoring your gallery each time you try a new ROM? You could have the folder hidden on accident and as you restore the gallery that folder becomes hidden again. See if you cannot find the photos another way, for example: Quickpic or ES File Browser.

thank you for helping.
unfortunately yes i did try changing the storage location, in the camera app i changed it to ext sdcard & phone storage both same issue. also i used the Xposed module "Downloads2SD" & "Pictures2SD" both to change the location but still same issue. as for restoring my gallery, no i dont restore it at all when installing new rom. unless somehow it automatically restores from my google account but i dont think it does.
I also have used Root Browser & ES File Explorer to look in every directory on phone and sdcard for the pictures and they cant be found anywhere.
thanks again for replying and trying to help appreciate it much. any other ideas tho?

What happens when you use a different camera app? If that doesn't work either I would suggest an RUU. If an RUU doesn't work I would suggest returning the phone.

still not working with other camera apps. im gonna try RUUing once and see if it still does it. i took a few pics today and all seemed fine until i went to view them later on then they were just displaying the gray triangle thing.. one pic was there and viewed fine one sec then the next its just like the others. i just looked in the gallery now and it shows the previews of these pics but i tap to open them and get the triangle again. its weird & really frustrating i took tons of great pics over the time with this phone and lost them all from this, except of course the stupid test shots ive taken of my wall or whatever pointless shots.. they seem to stay fine its just the important ones that wont.. aarrrghhh gonna RUU right now.
here is a screenshot of what displays for the pictures.. View attachment 2782818

I am having the same issue i moved all my pictures to the external storage card to free up space but now the pics are in limbo i cant find them i just have the triangle where they use to be. the same thing holds true for apps
im beginning to suspect that KK write protection with the external sdcard is the culprit for this but im on viperonem8 and have tried the fixes i found that are suppose to fix the write protection issue and still having same issues. so anyone have any working fixes at all please let us know thanks

I am having the exact same issue and it is frustrating as hell. Especially when I get a great picture, then I go to show someone and it is ****ING GONE.. The only way that I can seem to save them if is when I take them, I immediately share them. After doing extensive research, I have narrowed it down to 2 possible issues.
1) The SD card is somehow corrupted, I purchased a 64GB SD card from eBay and I just recently read about an SD card scandal that was going on which could be the culprit. To test this, I am first going to try with a smaller card that I know works. If that doesn't work, I am going to have the pictures stored on the phone and see if that keeps them.
2) This problem really started to show itself after I downloaded an app called OneGallery, I don't really know if that has anything to do with it, or if it is completely coincidence. If replacing the SD card doesn't work, deleting this app will be the next step.
I love the phone too much to just turn it in or swap it out.
