32 gb next week
I checked today as i wanted to buy the 16 gb version but the guy in front of me took the last one at Media Markt in Rotterdam.
I asked about the 32 gb version and the guy told me next week they bring it as well. Probably will be around 450 euro.
Got it for free with HI contract at Belsimpel

Media Markt Rotterdam
I checked again today but they're out of stock and it's a waiting list I've seen. 25 people are already on waiting list with preorders.
Not to mention that the bastards increased the price from 400 euro to 459 for the same 16 gb model. Probably they've seen is big demand and want to make some extra money from buyers.
Also Saturn shops are out of stock.
No sign of 32 gb version yet. Nobody knows when it comes to Netherlands.
Small update:
Mediamarkt: Sold out.
Saturn: Sold out ETA: Week 51
Ordered a back Nexus 5, 32GB on November 12 through the German Google Play Store with my Dutch cc.
Just received an e-mail that it's been shipped out earlier today. While initially it was set to ben sent out December 11 :victory:

That's a real + for the Google Play Store. Next time I buy a Nexus, I buy it via Google Play too. I just got a mail from Saturn for the fourth time, telling me the delivery of the device has been delayed.
Enjoy your Nexus

Got mine at Ekodeal, ordered it 15th November, got it 19th, payed €395 incl sending.
Now I see the price is €430 !!
Ordered mine at Belsimpel.nl,
Early this week they could tell me that it "should" be there this friday if not early next week,
After being curious I tempted to send them a E-mail asking if they already know more about the ETA
The reply wasn't really the thing I was hoping for,
Bedankt voor uw bericht aan Belsimpel.nl!

Nice !
Bought mine from Mediamarkt Hoorn, returned after 2 weeks due to dead pixels/dust under screen.
So afterwards I went on a calling spree across NL, then some employee of Mediamarkt Amsterdam Noord gave me the N5 even though it was reserved for someone else but wasn't picking up his phone for 2 days
Nexus 5 german Play Store?
Is there any way to order it from the german Play Store? I've seen several info that you need german address, or credit card... not to mention the ordering process through proxy. Another way I've seen was through addressgermany.com but was for nexus 4 and they changed some rules since then.
Anyone did it? and how?

A question to those who already own the N5 what is your current best/worst spec about this phone? also what was your previous phone.

I came from the HTC Sensation with a custom 4.3 rom. I can really feel the performance, especially when multitasking. The camera is even more awesome than before with the 4.4.1 update.
I ordered mine today on smartphoneshop.nl. Its getting delivered tommorow. It was switching in- and out of stock all day, so I guess I got lucky . So now i'm scouting ebay for cases, chargers etc. Any suggestions?

This, I got my n7 16 the day it came out and I absolutely love it. Now a few months later I can get one for the same low price with twice the space? I'll be buying it the day it's out.
Fact is if you want to be up to date, you'll be buying a new device every 6 months, it's just how it is, but hey, who doesn't have a hobby they like to throw money at?

Hi, I'm wondering how did you get the 25 bucks play store credit? I also purchased mine last weekend, but only found the 25 Google play store bonus is no longer valid (after September 30)

I got my Nexus 7 yesterday from newwegg and I didn't get the 25$ credit. I don't know if it may be related to my location - I live in Europe but I am visiting US now. Even if I try to access redeem codes from google wallet, I get the message "Gift Cards are not available in your location.". Anyone knows how to tell google that my location is now USA?
EDIT: Sorry for little off-topic - I found an answer to my question, in case someone is interested, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838710
the thing that stands out in my mind
The way these companies justify their pricing is hilarious... one quote in the article states
Right now, Google only offers the Nexus 7 in two sizes, 8GB and 16GB. 8GB is an extremely small amount of space but it enables Google to sell the device extremely cheap at $199.
Click to collapse
Just seems rediculous for anyone to believe that 8GB more storage would cost $50 ... and with the cost of memory per GB nowadays it would be a no brainer to up it to 64GB and 96GB just to stomp out the competition...
I guess Google was thinking this would be a more wireless cloud based device but consumers are showing that we don't wanna go that way ... would make sense to meet the demand and just flip everybody out with memory numbers that are huge.... cheap way to set this tablet apart from the rest (besides the other things it's already got going)
Got my 16gb n7 a few weeks ago for £180 UK pounds + £15 store credit + Transformers movie. Otg cable gives me unlimited storage if I need it.
I don't think I would be able to get the 32gb model for this price when it comes out, so I am not worried.

Actually, I remember reading an article about this pricing that said the 8gb didn't provide any real room for profit and the 16gb version is more so that resellers could actually make money on the device.
At first this seemed true as I couldn't find a reseller that even sold the 8gb, but now most seem to, so perhaps the build cost went down.
As for a 32gb coming out for the same price as the 16gb now...I doubt it. This thing hasn't even been out for a year. As for the 8gb going to $99...no way. Not unless Google is doing a fire sale and dumping Android like HP with WebOS.
More realistic would be something like $279/229/179 pricing for 32/16/8gb versions...

Hey Guys!
So the Nexus 4 has been released upon the masses with the first batch of the 16GB being sold out in 22 minutes and the 8GB being sold out a few hours later.
This thread will be a general area for Australian owners and potential owners to hang out, ask questions, get advice and get help quickly and within your time zone.
If anyone helps you or offers you advice don't forget to hit the ":good: Thanks" button in the bottom left corner of their post!
Please let me know if there's any important Australian specific information and I will put it here in the OP!
I'm buying one as soon as we are able to on the 13th. I purchased a nexus 7 on release day from the Google play store and received it 3 days after the funds were taken out of my bank account.
Generally they're pretty good with postage. I wouldn't trade my nexus 7 for anything!

Not sure about the price to ship to NZ but the shipping cost here for me when it was the N7 launch was $20 2 day shipping.

Same here, really hope that it is going to be released 12am on the 13th which means we will may - if they start shipping that day - have our orders start to be processed before the US even has the option to order hehe..
That is provided they do something similar to the Nexus 7 launch but in a more organised manner. Which I believe is the case.
(ie. Send large amounts of stock to each country that is selling it, wait for them all to get to respective countries, open orders, all send on the same day worldwide.)
I'm getting 16gb model a few days after launch (pay day)
Do they come from an Australian retailer or do our orders get shipped from the US?
My SGS2 has been good to me. My girlfriend will love it! I just can't pass up paying $399 outright for a phone that on paper, is probably the best on the market? You couldn't pay less than $400 for any other phone on our market could you?

Someone in one of the other threads said that this will lauch with a bumper case for the nexus 4
I'm totally buying on the 13th, it just annoys me that I have to pay $40 more than in Canada, considering I've only been here for 2 months... WHY COULDN'T THEY RELEASE IT WITH THE NEXUS 7?!
I'm looking at upgrading from my Galaxy S1 to the Nexus 4 when it comes out. I really don't mind the lack of LTE since I'm on TPG (who don't give access to LTE anyway). I'm pretty sure they do give access to Optus HSPA+ though, which should give me a speed bump from my S1 anyhow.
The only thing I am unsure about is using the Nexus 4 as my main music player, which is one of the main things I use my S1 for, apart from the usual phone and mapping stuff. Registering (through an American proxy) for Google Music and uploading all my music seems like the easiest method of doing this, but I am worried whether all the music streaming I would do would chew through my 1.5GB data allowance per month. Can anyone speak to their experience with music streaming with their monthly data allowance? Any better methods than Google Music in Australia? I've tried Spotify and found they didn't really have all the music I would like to listen to, and their app was still Gingerbread styled... ew.
Another (minor) problem is travelling overseas and having music. Data is too costly if travelling, so I suppose I would be stuck using my S1 while travelling, which I would probably keep as a backup phone anyhow.
I'm going to get this in store rather than on the Play Store since I can't convince my parents to shop online so I'm hoping that JB Hi-Fi will sell this by the end of the month (Does anyone know if it will be in stores next week at all?). Otherwise, can anyone name any stores in Melbourne or Sydney that has a possibility of selling this?

2 weeks ish. The thing that worries me is last year the N4 went on sale in the US and Canadian Playstore at the same time. This year, with the new Nexus 7, I believe we had to wait a few weeks to grab it from there. Here's hoping the N5 doesn't do the same =[. With the original Nexus 7, did we have to wait as well? Anyone remember?

What about ordering from the american play site and getting it shipped to a mailbox just at the border. (I live around Vancouver, BC)
I'm hoping it goes on sale in Canada and the U.S. at the same time. I haven't had much luck finding out much for carrier release dates though. In Canada, I use Rogers (AT&T) and in the U.S., I use T-Mobile. For the most part, their networks are fairly compatible. Happy Thanksgiving, Canadians, happy Columbus Day Americans!

Yeah! I prefer to get mine in-store as I get to enjoy it right away. That whole camera sticking out I really want to see as well. The inconsistent reports of the removeable battery is yet another thing I need to figure out. I like to have apare fully charged battery on me when travelling.
Highly doubt that there is a removable battery. Power bank works quite well

So who has a good idea on pricing? If it's under £250 for 16gb i'll be tempted. Any closer to the £300 mark and i'll probably go with the MI3. I'm currently using a THL W200 i'm a phone addict
Well when the Nexus 4 launched it was $299 in the US and £239 in the UK, and the price leaks for the 16GB Nexus 5 have been $299 so if we were to believe these leaks then the UK price will again be £239.
I think the 16gb would be either £239 or £249 and the 32gb £299. Reasonable price to be fair. Xiaomi Mi3 only will have MIUI support no other custom ROM just like the previous Xiaomi.
I'll be upgrading from my nexus 4, if rumours of a larger battery for the 32gb then I'll go for that if not 16gb is more than enough for me with all the cloud storage etc available.
Come on Google, just release it already damn you!

I will be ordering mine as soon as i can, i have £350 just waiting for it to go on sale. Cannot wait as been waiting months already for it, as for the prices I reckon we could be looking at £280 for 16gb and £320 for 32gb
My family lives in London, I bought my Nexus 4 from Carphone warehouse ( They did for me and sent it to me later on ), it was for sure more expensive than it was on Googleplay, any UK resident can tip me how do I have to buy the Nexus 5 this time for a cheap-google price? I should only go with Googleplay ?
Unless it's already sold out, you're buying it subsidised with a contract, or you're impatient enough that you can't wait a day or two for shipping, I can't think of any reason not to buy it directly from Google.
Just checking in, Will probably be getting the 32GB if I can.
Does anybody know if the Nexus4 Launched at midnight UK for the UK or did it launch at Midnight USA in all areas.
i've had my n4 since launch and hoping for these from the n5
improved camera esp in low light
better battery life
a buzzing free earpiece w/ improved call quality
<£300 simfree
gimme those and and i'm in

if it is the same googleplay setup with subsidized pricing then that is the ONLY place to get it without others adding on their £££
I think I'm willing to go up to £350 if it ticks all the boxes for me.

Fellow UK brahs..
Do yous reckon it's a worthy upgrade? Kind feel like I'd be paying for something the same but with white status icons and a slightly bigger screen?
..
if the camera is as good as the lg g2 then it is worth it for that alone in my eyes

Despite my Nexus 4 still going strong, one of the major reasons I'm going to upgrade is proper 4G LTE support. 4G services for the rest of the networks have started going live. Being on the Three network on The One Plan lets me take advantage of it as soon as it is available. But of course I need a phone that supports LTE, and thus my upgrade.
Hmm still not a peep of it yet...I'll keep checking back all morning not sure why as if I get it I can't afford it til Friday at all.

In my opinion, no. And for the following reasons:
The only worthy (to me) improvements will be a larger 4.95" 1080p screen and slightly smaller phone dimensions. Things like purported camera improvements and faster processor are not important to me cause I wont notice the difference. I am also not ready to pay LTE prices as I only ever use mobile data when I am commuting so the inclusion of LTE doesnt matter. Finally the N4 is such a beautiful phone and the N5 has nothing on it in the looks department.
If you currently use a GNex then it would be a worthy upgrade, if you have an N4, less so.

I'll be getting it as soon as it's pre-orderable (if that's a word).
My Galaxy S3 is on it's last legs and would like to turn it into a dash cam after getting a new phone.
Currently hoping that they announce a Nexus 10 2013 as well because I can't justify getting a Nexus 5 and a 7 since they're so closely related...a new 10 inch tab would be lovely though. I dropped my Prime and it shattered into a thousand pieces so this month will be an expensive one.
I am wondering if they're going to do a staggered release like they did with the 2013 Nexus 7. I think it did prevent a lot of ordering havoc but we had to wait an extra month after the initial release in the USA which sucked.
I'm already to go for this as well... but that being said, not having a firm release date is a pain..
Hi,
I'll probably upgrade just because it has LTE and 32GB .... I always had 32gb phones with the exception of my current Nexus 4 and i'm already struggling with space... The only thing that bothers me is the size... i already had a 5" phone and it was very unconfortable to use the phone with only one hand....
I think the size of the Nexus 4 is perfect for me
Hello Wallachian! :highfive:
Here is the place we can talk about Nexus 5 in our country.(specs, tips & tricks, accesories, price, roms & kernels...etc)
Enjoy!
Users have to speak english, also in "national thread".
The price in our country will be for sure around double than the original one...
I hope I can get it from another country such as USA or Germany

Guys, even if this Thread is called "romanian thread", the one and only allowed language on xda is English.
So please stop posting in romanian, but in English in future posts.
I want this device at 2200RON price range
Ok, sorry for my bad post but I was really thrilled about a 'national topic'. Anyhow I must say that the price of Nexus 5 ( or Nexus 4 2013) will be much higher in Romania, around 2500 ron for the 16 gb version and 2900 ron for the 32 gb version.

Sad but thrue, in our country first price is double. When i purchase nexus 4 i expected to lower the price.
After a couple of months, the price will be reduced, for sure. see how N4 or n7 prices evolved during the following months after the launch. I took the second N4 in August at 1600ron (~350e). The same price at which I took the first one in March from Germany's Playstore.
We cannot compare the price in US with Europe, anyway. nobody can.

2500RON is to high.LG G2 is 2400RON on eMag.ro.A nexus device is cheaper. My phone now is an LG Optimus Hub with cracked screen. The touch still works.Nexus 5 will be a big jump for me
LG G2 is NOW 509euros on orange.ro.,standard price. that means around 2200ron.
Nexus 4 was 2200 ron when was first introduced at emag, and then the price was reduced slowly...to 19,18 and 1699ron. Now, its 1549, which is still very good for the phone. I am selling my N4 as we speak.
i know this because i followed closely the price. both for N4 and N7 2012 & 2013. But if you dont believe me, i can search and post the links from other forum, softpedia where the discussion started at the launch of N4.
i can bet that the N5 price will be ~2200 at launch and after January will decrease below 2000 ron.
just found this link

I purchase my Nexus 4 two weeks ago from evomag.ro, price 1389 RON. Now is around 1600 RON there.
probably it was some kind of sale. If you have said it, i would have sold it mine for as low as 1200 ron, still in box 2y warranty.
So, it has been released! Now we have to wait until some reseller brings it. However, I assume it will be pricey (2000 RON for 16GB version, which IMO is a rip off).

You are old enough (hope so:silly to realize that in our country, even if most of the population is poor, everything is a rip off
Alredy is available in Romania , 2007 RON / 449 euro ....good price for start http://www.alex-gsm.ro/NEXUS-5-16GB-BLACK-PREMIERA-IN-ROMANIA-c144-p7676.htm
@Octavius69 that's the sad truth. In all the poor/third world countries everything is expensive. Even so, this doesn't seem to stop people buying overpriced things. On the other hand I can understand that the price displayed on Google Play is subsidized by Google, hence the other retailers will have a higher price tag. And this last part applies everywhere. What's frustrating is that Google is not stepping in and release it's devices on more countries.
Going back OT: The 16GB version is available at PC "Garbage" as well (~2100 RON). Let's see if other major reseller will join. I am curious to see the price for the 32GB version.
EDIT: Same device on cel.ro for 2000RON, but still no news about the other one.
I would wait if I knew they will brig the rumored one, which has bigger battery or the 32Gb but I'm pretty sure they will not import it in the next weeks, not in a decent price range at least. Therefore I prefer to buy it now, I was waiting for too long this almost perfect phone.
Stefan, they will bring for sure the 32GB version in the coming weeks. However, please note that the capacity is the same, 2300mA, on both versions (16/32GB). There is no 32GB version with a 3000mA battery. That was pure speculation (just a rumor).
I just purchased mine 16Gb from evoMag at almost 2000Ron which for the 5th day after release date is a decent price. Good luck to finding yours.
Regards,
Me

@icsulescu what is the expected delivery date? For the time being I'm waiting for the 32GB version, which is not yet available in RO.
