hi all,
my problem is when i put to charge my tablet with the travel AC adapter i think the tab only recognized 0.5mah of 2000mah total and i dont know why.
i use cm 10.1.3 (22-oct-13)
is problem for the jelly bean? and other problem, i dont see the lightning in the battery when is charging, i go to the adjust /battery and the tab not show nothing info when is charging for usb or AC.. not show nothing. only the green line at bottom, this reflect the charge.
sorry for my english and sorry if this post must placed in other section.
You have to use the official Samsung charger. Most other wall adapters won't pull enough amps. Same goes with USB ports.
i have the original samsung charger, i think one posibilty is the usb cable, this is not original. I need try whit other USB cable.
actually i buy the "original" usb cable, in next days i try charge..

I think samsung galaxy tab needs the original charger to charge the battery, or you can use a converter to pass the original check.
There must be some pin in the cable that check the original issue, CMIIW

Recently my X1 cannot be charged with USB cable through wall outlet & even car charger , but able to charge with USB cable through PC.
Anyone do encounter the same problem?
Well that's a strange one - how long was it connected to the wall?
Without getting into the discussion about volts and amps provided, and amps drawn by the phone, any method should charge.
In terms of speed, I would think the wall would charge fastest (see above), and the USB slowest.
Did the phone show on the top bar, the charging icon when attached to the wall? Or after a period of time there was no increment in the % charge showing??
If the battery was down to 0%, you probably wouldn't see an immediate increase in the % charge. The % charge is orientative, especially at both ends of the scale.

I do agree with you. Charging with wall outlet is faster. Therefore, normally I'm charging my X1 with wall outlet, unless in office, will use PC USB.
Top bar never show charging icon, but once I charge it with PC USB, the charging icon show up immediately.
It seems like no power for the USB when connected to the wall outlet. I've tested with battery removed, plugged in USB cable connected to wall outlet, there is no charging illumination light. I cannot power on it.
I tried to recall, it happened after I used a USB charger for my MP3 player. The next day, when I tried to charge with car charger. To my surprise, the USB connection notification showed up (I do remember, while charging with wall outlet or car charger, it will never prompt me for USB connection).
I don't think, it is the ROM issue. Try a few ROM still having the same problem.
From now, I got to live with PC USB :|
X1 Charging problem
I have same problem. I can not charge via both USB-PC and Wall. In order to charge the phone, I have to switch it off and then charge it.
This happened after I used CHEAP car charger from dealexteme.com
Now everytime I want to charge my phone, I have to switch it off.

I'm using the original SE charger!? I would not think the problem with the charger, but my X1 was screwed by the incompatible MP3 USB charger
Yep same with me, not sure why mine started doing that though, I never got used a cheap charger. Maybe its the rom... I am trying a new one now.

it's not caused by the ROM, I'm very sure. I've installed different ROM. The problem still exist.
I am having a similar problem. When the phone completely discharges , i am unable to charge it with any power adapter or even car charger. I have to initially charge the phone using a PC , then after the power is around 15% , then the phone gets charged with a normal adapter.. any suggestions??
same problem. It happends when the battery is completely discharged.
what I do is use a charger w/ low amp rating (.1) and plug it in for at least 10-20min. Give it some time, it will start charging after a while (indicated by the blinking lights). After that, you can turn it on and charge it normally
I had a similar problem twice. Both times I solved it by replacing the charger.
the same happen to me and i have another issue
my xperia doesnt work as usb mass storage!!!
the solution was buying another charger but..the usb mass storage issue still not working as a flash drive!!

I don't know , but I think even if you were able to charge via usb it will took very long time in order to full charge it because capacity of battery is big
Need to make your self a universal usb charging adapter, look it up on here.
Works and been tested with 7.7 aswell!
You need to solder resisters 33k and 10K To the data and power lines...
Look for it in 10.1 forum
How to make your own universal charger for galaxy tab.

Do you mean D+ and D- lines of USB need to be pulled up ? and which D line should have 33k or 10k ?
Link please .
yes thats the one..
(make sure you join the resistors to each other at the middle aswell.)
Look at the resisters you use and make sure they are both facing the same direction. My first attempt to do it failed and at first i thought it didnt work on 7.7
Then i noticed one resister was back to front.not 100 percent sure if this was the problem but after i changed this from looking at pictures online and comparing the pics to my resisters i noticed what end the 2 colored bands are at.the 33k one with the gold bands and the 10k one with dual black bands.
The end of the restister with the gold bands(33k) and Black bands(10k)
is the end that the power joins to.
The other end of the resister should have matching bands on 10k and 33k.
this is the end that joins to the data line.

once i left my turned-off 7.7 connected to my running PC for few hours, to my surprise the battery seems to be charged-up during that time
yup... its still charging... but slowly...
Actually you could get faster charging with that USB data cable when the PC has been installed with the proper drivers. The standard downstream port could deliver up to 500mA ONLY after the USB hub has negotiated power draws with the host interface. Otherwise the port might just deliver less that 100mA power.
Kies provides the suitable driver. You may uninstall Kies afterward and keep the driver installed.
In addition, PCs have two kinds of USB port — standard downstream port and charging downstream port. Some older PC would label them 'SDP' and 'CDP', but I found that most modern PCs don't distinguish them at all. As you might imagine, you could get faster charging plugging into a CDP than into a SDP.
FYI., those ports used in wall charger is the third kind of USB port, CP - Charging Port.
Hi!
After installed the Battery HD soft, when link with PC, That programe showing the charging time and progress charge. but still not sure.
I am charging via USB as we speak.
I am doing it using a standard mincroUSB cable (that I use to charge my GNote and SGS2) and added an adapter I got on eBay for my SGT10.1
You can pick one up here: http://goo.gl/EMzpJ
It's not as efficient as the AC charger but it's doing a good job and will get you by if you haven't got access to a power point.
Can use this hub to charge as well
This SIIG INC - SYNC/CHARGING HUB AND READER FOR GALAXY TABLETS - CE-H21112-S1 gives you the capability to charge your Tab through a computer USB port. Seems to work pretty good used it last night. Checked the net prices vary per vendor.

The connector on the 7.7 tab is exactly the same as on P1000. There is no trouble in charging.
My original cable came with the tab allows me to charge via USB @ my laptop, but the charging speed is very slow. So I prefer to use an external portable charger over this most of the time. Not sure if there are any apps or software that allows fast charge kinda stuff?
Im using my xperia sp for few months.i forgot my original data cable at work place last friday.then i tried to charge my phone using tab's charger.but it wasnt charge with it.then i found another usb cable.i connected it to original charger and tried to charge it.then charging led was lighten.but charging speed was very slow.it took 6hours to full charge it.and phone heats 45'c.i'm feeling very bad about my phone.how can i fix this.how to charge it as normal? The Sony charger and cable are specially made for faster charging. If you connect your original charger and cable to a samsung phone, you'll see how quickly they charge up. Other cables will take more time.
Always try and use the original cable and charger. Otherwise it will charge slowly. But I don't know about the heating.
thanks
thanks everyone. i visited repair centere and they said it was problem with my charging ic.not any cable or wall socket.
i tried different chargers yesterday, he said one of my chrger's ampier rate was above 1.5A and that may cause to this error.
Hi I have an international rooted Galaxy S-III i9305, bought it in June . The charging has been unstable, as in sometimes it would charge up just fine while sometimes it even discharges when charging. I went to the Samsung service center and they gave me a new charger without checking my phone. The problem persists. I borrowed another charger from a friend and the same thing happens. I bought a new port connector and same results ..
I came across an app in the XDA forum, Galaxy Charging Current. Tested it to realise that it's the phone problem it should show 1000ma but it show 1000ma sometimes and 500ma sometimes and 100ma sometimes ... , I had to keep reconnecting the charger to obtain an efficient charge and its not stable it change :\ :'( im really tired i hope you can help me .. I tryed to change my android version (4,4,4) and i flashed unofficial cm12 but no way

First, use imgur.com
Second, change your language to English, the French translations does not ditinguish between USB and AC charging (just for this test, you can revert after)
Then, plug in your wall charger. It should say Charging on AC or Charging on USB. Check it.

I dont know what the real problem is- is it because i used a defective otg or my tablet has the issue. please help my tablet is 2 months old

Get some juice into it then download the app Galaxy charging current and see what it's putting out.
I have a charger for my s6 and one for the tab s2. They look the same but reading the fine print, the tab s2 is a quick charger while the s6 is a normal one. It does make a difference, the quick charger is definitely faster
You have a faulty cable, specifically there is a break / bad / intermittent connection.
