Files to push, stuff to tweak? - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since we don't have a way to flash anything (and may never will), could there be a thread for devs and users to share stuff to manually push or tweak? I've done this with combining two themed roms from sprint and international forums, but only the themed phone, mms, contacts and touchwiz. Are there things to tweak or add that would normally be built in a rom? I would love to see a thread with some att stuff for us to work with. I would post pics and stuff but I'm not the developer so it may not be okay.

Have u had any issues with the themed apps you are using from the other carriers?

Juzt one. I've used apks from bobcat rom (international) and jellybomb (sprint). The dialer from the bobcat rom gave me fc issues when I opened the phone app so I had to use a third party dialer. The call screen and dialer works once the call is engaged so I don't know. Kinda why I'm hoping devs will share some att stuff

Contacts and dialer one app

I don't really like how there is an app dedicated to "people" and one "phone". Anyone have a good method of combining them into one app? Right now i just have them paired in a folder but i think there can be a better way of grouping. Suggestions please?
Thanks in advance

They are combined, hit search button on dialer, and it will bring up contacts..

Not sure why the stock app isn't more like Dialer One. T9 search seems to be a basic functionality feature (With room for more than one single result). Why is Blackberry the only company that has basic functions like that embedded.
Dialer One needs an update...it looks so old.
I see it now, thanks!

Dialer / Contact / MMS Themes?

I would love to get rid of all this white and green! Are there any projects in the works? I have no clue how to do this or I would do it myself. I tried messing around with the apks, but I don't know what the hell I'm doing
Bump this. I've themed most of mine but the dialer drives me crazy!

I simply am using GO SMS pro and using their themes just wish all those nonsense ads weren't there but just throwing it out there also there are a few other apps that also let you theme your contacts and dialer I just dont use it

Restored my 17000 texts and now texting apps are lagging!

This sounds like an extremely obvious problem with an extremely obvious solution but the thing is my Nexus 4 handled it like a champ. What gives?
As always thanks in advance and love you all!

Each device will work very differently. You can not compare it to the n4. Having that many messages restored is never advised.
Bat cave One
obviously it would lag with 17000 messages on HTC Sense Messaging app
Nexus 4 Stock Messaging app is quite light, that's why it handles them smoothly; IMO :silly:
why not deleting some messages
try any other messaging app from PlayStore, like 8sms
I use chomp on the Nexus 4 and now on this as well. It is strange that chomp will lag with the One and Not the Nexus 4 which is technically inferior.

Its not if your running a non sense rom. The nexus was made to run AOSP roms as to where the one was not. Also your transfering them from one device to another. This can cause issues due to diff in the system.
I see so I have no other choice but to delete my texts?

You could try other apps to see how they fair but in the end yes I think your gonna end up deleting some of the texts. To be honest none of the sms apps are really made to handle a messaging data base that size. I have noticed after about 500 they start lagging.
Thanks man I'm going to delete them all now.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to amass 17,000(!) texts?
3 years haha!

How hard to port T-Mobile ROM?

As Dev is booming in T-Mobile section, how hard is it to port a ROM for use on our phones? I have basic ROM building skills and such so in my boredom may take a stab given a proper start...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Shouldn't be hard at all. Just remove the T-Mobile junk, change APN settings and some build.prop settings.
I am willing to test if you want to take this on.
I am personally desperate for new ROMs.
Just remember to ask any ROM dev for permission to port.

secure box

Not sure if this is the proper thread guys so dont kill me. Since my company moved to verizon i have noticed that my device does not have the secure or blocked box under the messaging app. i was wondering if the sprint devices had it in their devices.
Are you talking about this?

Thanks and yes that is it. I assume that you are running stock if not which Rom I well pull it and put it in the Verizon threads and give credit
