Hi there
I'm desperately trying to unroot my O2 UK HTC One and not having much luck. I've followed several tutorials and tried Liquidperfction's Quick root/unroot tool but to no avail.
It looks like I need the O2 UK RUU. Does anyone know where I can find this? I have searched through this site and Google and not come up with anything though I could have easily missed it as I am new to all this.
My Recovery screen info is as follows:

Any help or advice would be greatly received.

Question: why do you want to unroot?
Anyway, you could use a Guru Reset ROM, since your version is not there, you could use a 2.24.401.x version. Or am I misunderstanding the question?

Thanks for the reply.
I want to unroot as I am not able to use my banking aps whilst rooted and it is important that I can access these. Also I have not really found any useful reason for me to be rooted. I foolishly jumped on the rooting bandwagon without thinking it through. Thirdly I can not receive the OTA updates whilst rooted.
I am not sure what a Guru reset rom is I'm sorry. Any pointers would be appreciated! Thanks

If you really want to go back to 100% stock (in order to receive OTAs), then follow @stovie_steve guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2519259
It's a bit of a long procedure, but it's the only way to get back to 100% stock. The Guru Reset ROMs are found here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/, but since there isnt a version for O2, you won't get any OTA updates.
Good luck
PS: Hit the thanks button if I've helped

Well I've given the above method a good read and I'm afraid it's just beyond me. All the terms and phrases just go over my head. I'll keep researching but in the mean time could anyone point me in the direction of a KitKat rom that would be suitable for my phone? I've had a look and I just can't work out which one is right for my device.
Thanks.

We could walk you through it one step at a time, but it will probably take a couple of hours, so better postpone that till the weekend. (you are at least somewhat familiar with adb and fastboot commands right?)
Don't know any KitKat roms, you'd have to search; but it's probably just going to a JB base with some KitKat features, as 4.4 for HTC One isn't out yet (nor leaked, as far as I know).
Cheers

Hi there,
Is it as simple as just flashing a stock rom (RUU)? If this is the case, which RUU version do I need, I have an unlocked phone (Europe, Belgium).
Need to revert back to stock because I need to get it fixed under warranty.
I am aware there are some guides on the forum, but I haven't found a clear one yet...

I would try running this one:
RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.30.405.1_Radio_20 .2808.30.085AU_3805.06.03.03_M_release_199308_sign ed
Thanks for the link. I've tried it and it all works, yet my phone is still S-OFF.
Bootloader gives this info:
-Revolutionary-
VIVO PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.13.1002
RADIO-3805.06.03.03_M
eMMC-boot
I'm not sure what they check in order to find out if the warranty is voided, but I reckon they'll stumble upon this info.

Yes now that you have the ROM installed, you need to remove S-Off and Revolutionary HBOOT if you want it completely stock to return for warranty.
Search this forum for the process to remove Revolutionary.
I've searched the forums and came up with yet again a number of posts all describing another process. I really don't want to brick it, so if you would be so kind to give me the link that'll work on my incredible s .

Alright, worked like a charm. Thanks a million, now I only need to worry that they don't see the broken void sticker on the screws inside(wanted to see if my problem was due to a faulty connector) .
Hopefully all goes well

As expected, I didn't get any solution on the HTC site. I haven't done any mods on my phone and it's still running an all-stock OS since I took it out of the box.
Here's my software info (my unit is the Europe version and I'm located in the Philippines, if that helps)

HTC Sense Version

Software number

that's strange.. the software number is correct.
and you haven't changed anything before? can you start your device into bootloader (power+volume down) and tell me what you see (does it show locked, unlocked or tampered?)? a screenshot of the bootloader would be helpful

wow, and you haven't modified anything? has this device been used before? your device is unlocked and even s-off!! :silly:
now it's clear why it didn't work. you'll have to relock your bootloader for an OTA.. the command would be "fastboot oem lock", but first you'll need to learn a bit about fastboot/adb stuff..
here's a guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2281365
Thanks! Hope this works (crossing fingers). By the way, what's this update anyway? I read somewhere that the 4.2.2 update for the HTC One came in two installments... one just a few MB in file size, then the other is around 400MB.

You've changed the CID. you have a Vodafone handset but the unbranded CID so it won't work. You need to change it back to VODAP001 and then see what happens
If you want the unbranded handset, seeing as you're S-OFF, then flash the 1.28.401.7 RUU and then you can get the OTAs to bring you up to 2.24.401.8

It will wipe everything so back up anything you want to keep first, and no it shouldn't brick the phone so long as you are fully charged

Basically being as dumb as I can be in this situation in the beginning after just getting this device I managed to load this old TWRP recovery here
Then I realized I also downloaded the incorrect GP edition rom (which i blindly missed NOT FOR SPRINT, im used to my old 3d which was enough for me at the time). So I sideloaded some other custom sprint roms trying them out then whoops, I accidentally wiped everything. Still nothing worked after trying new recoveries and roms. After a week or so of not having a phone to use ive been forced to try and get it back to stock with STILL no luck. If I can get this situated soon AND have something fancier than Sense than that would be extremely helpful. Ive even tried that recent factory ruu method that has been on here recently and nothing

Not sure why I still cant get S-Off, the all in one toolkit doesnt budge when I try to set permisssions.
However the RUU methods you provided worked like a charm, and I was able to start fresh and load pacman which I LOVE!
Okay, I am really new to all of this modding business.
I wished to install a stock android rom, simply because I preferred it over Sense.
I used the autoinstaller to install, Cyanogenmod 10.2.
Anyway, I done research and checked that you could use the EQ in the rom to sort of, replace the 'beats' audio, although simply it isn't good enough for me and I just prefer stock sense over the rom.
I didn't flash it myself, the application done it for me although there were a few hiccups.
I simply wish to unroot the phone, and lock the bootloader and just generally return it back to how it was.
I do not have any back ups, because the phone wasn't rooted before hand, the installer done this all for me.
Is there anyway I can return to the stock Sense
If it helps, I am living in Europe - England, and the phone is sim locked to EE.
Any help would be appreciated returning my phone to stock.
Thank you.

I'm pretty sure when you look for an RUU, you'll need to get one for the Europe release. Ignore the Cingular or Sprint variants.
There are plenty of guides, you can use the ones from clsA.
There are loads more:
http://android.sc/unroot-htc-one-re...roid-4-2-2-jelly-bean-firmware-using-toolkit/
For the official RUU updaters for full stock I'd use these:
http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/
Reboot the phone into boot loader and try to match the radio version with the RUU updater online. If you are in a lower version then it will update you. If you are on a higher version you won't be able to run it without gaining S-OFF and downgrading.
The RUU must be the same version or newer than the version you are currently running, but make sure it's the Europe version.
My S seems to already be on, so thats one step I would have to miss, although I am confused regarding which RUU I need, the data I have follows:
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT 1.54.0000
RADIO- 4A.17.3250.14
OpenDSP - v31.120.274.0617
OS - 2.24.61.1
eMMC-boot - 2040MB
-
It seems for some RUU files I need S-OFF? I am quite confused, could anyone lead me to the correct direction please

There doesn't seem to be an RUU that you could use without gaining s-off and downgrading your hboot.
I think you may have to gain s-off. Then running an RUU after downgrading. I have tried to look for one you could use right now but they all require a lower hboot version.
Take a look at this:

Hi folks, long time listener, first time caller.
I have an HTC One (M7_UL) from EE UK.
Last year I unlocked, rooted and tried a few methods from XDA (toning down the crazy vibration, etc), then wanted to go back to stock in order to easily receive the 4.2.2 update that EE were sending out OTA. I messed something up and ended up having to sideload Teamwin recovery and the European 4.2.2 (2.24.401.1) ROM in order to have a working phone again. My own stupid fault. Have had no problems with it since and just left it as is.
However, I recently realised that I wasn't gonna get any more OTA updates, and having very little time to update to different ROMS myself these days, I'd kinda like to go back to the boring, easy life of getting the OTAs (probably six to nine months late, but whatever!)
I have been searching for a while but always end up with about twenty XDA browser tabs open and end up really confused.
The two issues I need to get sorted:
1) Does anyone know if EE UK have their own specific ROM, or if it is just the General European RUU that they send out? I can't find any specific EE ROMs anywhere, months of searching.
2) I only have access to Macs, not Windows machines.

I would very much appreciate your input, please bear in mind I am not a n00b but neither am I particularly advanced in this stuff. So basically… I'm a n00b :silly:

Thanks for the quick response cr1960!
First issue:
"First you need to be S-Off, this will NOT work with S-On!!!"
I'm S-On as seen in my bootloader info above. I've read it's dangerous to go back to S-On from Off, so does this mean I can't use this guide, ruling out going S-Off then S-On in order to follow it?

1- you can stay S-Off, it won't affect OTA updates
2- the only reason for going S-On (in my opinion), is if you're selling the phone or sending it in for warranty
3- it's not dangerous to go S-Off to S-On (unless you're using a modded hboot), however, if you do that on hboot 1.55+ it will very likely trigger a "tamper detected - rebooting" and TAMPERED is back in the bootloader, hence the guide says to go from S-Off to S-On at a very specific time.
