Rooted my phone and installed Cyanogenmod (the latest version) a few days ago. I fell in love with the theme and don't want to switch back to stock.
However I really miss the Sense TV app, not only for the IR blaster, but the whole TV guide thing where it shows a recommended list and touch on shows/movies So such apps like universal remotes won't cut it.
Does anyone have the apk for the sense tv app, or an alternate with the same experience?

Sorry the TV app is for sense based roms only. Cyanogenmod doesn't support IR blaster (yet).
That's what makes it a [REQUEST], right?

That's what makes it a [REQUEST], right? This is a pretty big hardware feature to just not support....or is this being looked at differently by others?
I've been using Smart IR Blaster, but regretfully it doesn't record any more. :crying:
Consider this a second request.

well cynogen mod 7 works. i havent done tuns of testing.
It becomes annyoing having to flash and test every single cappy rom.
That is the main reason why im also asking people to test it using the test app on thier roms post a reply so i can post it in the forum
https://market.android.com/details?...patibilitychecker&feature=more_from_developer
BUT asop or not it doent matter it is just a bluetooth protocol that any custum rom can have.
This looks super cool. I wish I had a playstation. Xbox controllers don't use bluetooth, do they?

im almost certian they use infared. I THINK it would be possible to play with the 360 controller with an ir dongle. sort of like how you can connect your phone and tv and use your phone as a remote. It would need a special app and dongle.

The 360 Control is not IR based. It is RF based, however it is not Bluetooth based, it is proprietary. There is a USB receiver for the controllers but it can not work directly through Bluetooth.
FYI, this has been digested and discussed on many a thread, and just to save everyone a lot of trouble: yes, you must be on CM7 or MIUI to use this. It requires a corrected Bluez bluetooth stack, which only AOSP ROMs have. For Samsung ROMs, the only controller you can use is iControlPad (which you can buy here: http://icontrolpad.com/) to use with the Bluez IME app (from the market).
Typical Samsung, they have released a remote tv app for their Smart TVs called Allshare Control.
It installs (Play claims it is compatible with the Note), then flops with the usual bad grammar "AllShare Framework does not installed, the application will exit". S3 users claim some success.
Thanks Samsung - why can't you make products that integrate? Ever heard of product integration? It's when products you make actually work together?
But then again, this is Samsung. Silly me, of course they can't.
These are the people who convinced me to buy a "Smart TV" with apps, like a browser. Er, how do I type? With those big arrow keys on your tv remote, of course!
Ever tried to enter text using one of these? Absolute joke, no it's worse than that, it's some form of primitive torture. Practically fraudulent it's so awful.
Anyone anywhere know if there's a way we can get the Note to interact with a new LED Samsung TV, with or without AllShare Control? Can we hijack the AllShare Framework from an S3?
No replies - but found an answer, entirely unofficial but brilliant SamyGoRemote. Works pretty well for text input, which is the killer app for tv browsing. Recommended.

Hi, I have Samsung UE40ES6100, the "samsung remote" app works, but there is no keyboard, and the slide/mouse works too slow. The "sammyGo remote" app doesn't seem to discover the TV. Are there any alike apps you know ?
P.S. I have an xperia neo, but I don't think that could be the problem

Hi everybody,
yesterday I have the Paranoid Android Rom installed. As I sat down today in front of my TV and my HTC One wanted to use as a remote control, I noticed that the TV app is gone. It is logical that it is up to the Rome.
Can I install the HTC Sense TV app?
If it is possible could someone send me the apk?

This is normal as PA is built off of AOSP and not Sense so you will lose all Sense apps and apks. Find a different app to use

To add to what z said - the HTC Sense TV app relies heavily on Sense Framework, so just taking the APK and trying to install it won't work. There are other IR apps available (SmartRemote, One Remote to Rule them All, etc), but unfortunately there are not currently any apps that include a guide feature as well, just remote.
I'd suggest smart remote and get the tvguide app. Smart remote will work on roms that don't use the ir patch it will ask for root permission but it has been the most reliable for me

Does anyone know a solution for remapping or reutilizing the Bluetooth AVRCP control buttons for a set of bluetooth headphones (LG Tone HBS-700 specifically) on the LG stock ROM? All I want is for the play/pause, forward/previous track buttons to work on my headphones with the SiriusXM app. I came from CM11 and it worked perfectly there. When SiriusXM was playing, the buttons would affect it, and so forth with other music player apps when they had control. Now that I'm back on trying stock ROM, it of course doesn't work because LG's ROM is a piece of junk. Any recommendations?
App in play store called media button router allows you to designate a specific app to be controlled by bt devices.... it's free, maybe that'll do the trick for you

I didn't know about that app! I downloaded and installed it, and unfortunately, it isn't recognizing SiriusXM as one of the music players on my phone. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Maybe email the dev and ask if he'll add it to the app list... couldn't hurt to try.

Not a bad idea. I'll try it!
Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread, but has anyone found a KK ROM with functional AVRCP play / pause support? Media Button Router is a viable alternative for me on 4.3, but does not work on 4.4. Development of the app had basically stopped from what I see... Thanks for any suggestions.

The only ones I ever found to work are AOSP-based, namely Cyanogenmod, but I'm sure any AOSP-based KK ROM would have fully functional AVRCP support for whatever application you're using, provided the application utilizes the system's audio player.
As its written above, i am open for hints about ir blaster app what works.

What would you do with the IR first at all? If you know what, then according to your need, you can download some app.
id recommend the stock MIUI app for the IR blaster. has tons of functionality and lots of different applications preinstalled its called Mi Remote and can be downloaded from the play store

You can find it on google somewhere, the Miui remote app. I find it the best one as it has all devices available with just one touch.
as mentioned before, its available on playstore as a regular app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duokan.phone.remotecontroller&hl=en
