I own a macbook and have a lot of bookmarks on my safari browser, lots of them contained within folders. I used my mybookmarks app to transfer them to my htc one but they are just in one massive list, no folders, i was able to also import them on my google chrome browser, but same thing, they are still in a huge list.
Is there anyway around this?
I also have a spotify account, how to I transfer songs to the stock music player app on the one....?
Anybody know...........
Dont know about the bookmarks but with Spotify you dont own the music, you stream it with the ability to download tracks on the premium version. Download the Spotify app from the Play Store and log in using your account and youll find all your playlists are synced. It integrates very nicely with Sense and the lockscreen so acts pretty much like the HTC Music App.

I have the premium version and yes I can download to listen offline but would just be nice r to transfer them to my music
I presume if I cancel Spotify my downloads are still there

No, you lose them. Spotify is a rental service.

i've had my Thrill for 3wks now, and I'm going nuts now trying to transfer my music to the phone and keep the iTunes playlists and songs I HAD CHECKED TO SYNC but not the songs UNCHECKED i didn't want on my iphone...
Doubletwist doesn't sync the to sd micro card, only built-in memory, itunes agent was unsuccessful... what do you guys use, if not iTunes, to sync your music w/tags and album art and all? i don't put every single mp3 i own on my phone, so i don't want to hand pick individual mp3s out of my over 3000 songs to redo the album art and sync them one by one.
i love the 3D of the Thrill, can't get enough - but android and no useful way to transition music, photos, and videos is making me think about switching back... PLEASE HELP.
Try winamp it can import from itunes and will keep playlists, and sync to sd card.

Google Music
Download Google Music to the same machine that has iTunes on it. Upload the playlists that you want to have on your phone into Google Music. Install google music on your thrill. Select the playlist you want to keep available on your phone (rather than streaming from the cloud) and check the box that says "available offline" while you're connected to wifi and let it do its thing.
It works great for me, and also makes it so that I have 20000 of my songs available on every android device (or other computer) I use.

I feel bad that you've had to get used to iTunes. I've done it in the past and absolutely refuse to do it again. Such a pain the ass that program...
Google Music is very nice as it does most of the hard work for you as far as albums and renaming itself. It's also a lot easier to transfer what you want to a droid device. It's also very easy to dump off the device when compared to an iPod or iPhone.
I have an 80 iPod classic. I've never used a phone as a music player besides the occasional Pandora.
i use spotify on pc
I have all my music on a microSDXC card in my phone, as well as uploaded to Google Play Music's "cloud". But when I try to play music from Google Play Music through my Chromecast, it insists on trying to use my local music and thus gives me the "can't play sideloaded music" error. Is there any way to force the Music app to look only at the cloud as the source for music? The only source options I see are "All Music' or "On device".
If you remove the side loaded music, then pin the music using the play music app, it should stream correctly and you would still have the music on your device for offline use.

Thanks for the idea. I didn't know about pinning. But it looks like this downloads the music from the cloud source, which I really don't want to do, since I have it organized on my microSDXC card already.

This won't work in my case. The music player I use most the time is one I wrote and it depends on getting album metadata from the Android media database, so I can't put the ".nomedia" files in my music directories, since the Android media database metadata harvester would not find it.
I'd like to be able to keep Google Music for cloud content only as well.
I want to use a third party app for local media files though.
Is there anyway to either
1) Restrict Google Music to scanning only a certain folder
or
2) Have Google Music display cloud content only

try adding .nomedia to the local music folder to preve GMusic scanning the folder (need to run media scanner process after this).
then force your local music app (e.g. poweramp) to scan that folder with your local music - hopefully it ignores the .nomedia flag

I used the .nomedia for Google Music then use PowerAMP for my local music. You may just have to compromise one way or another.
Unmount the sdcard

Yes, I tried doing that but I was using PlayerPro, which does not ignore .nomedia files.
I've been using PowerAmp, and it works great. It lets you select your music directory and ignores .nomedia. Rocket Player also ignores .nomedia, I just didn't like the interface.
I still wish I could use PlayerPro, though. Google definitely should've added an option to restrict its scanner.

It gets annoying unmounting and then rescanning the SD card every time you want to use Chromecast. Wouldn't you agree?
Doubletwist even though it claims mtp support my htc one can't get songs sync perfectly. Can someone try using doubletwist and sync a playlist and tell me they don't receive an error? Htc Sync manager takes forever to load and the playlists it imports from itunes duplicate everytime I start the program. Any other options besides drag and drop? I prefer not to use google music as I want my tracks coming my my itunes.

that is drag n' drop but i want to sync my certain playlists which would be a pain if i were to drag and drop them after i happen to update my playlists on itunes
I think you found your answer with iSyncr. It's what I use and it works pretty much flawlessly.
+1 for isyncr. I've tried em all and it's the best. Dev also has a music app that's called rocket player that sync your playcounts, starting positions and basically everything an iTunes desktop client does. Check it out. Pretty neat if your an iTunes user.

As a user of both iSyncr and doubletwist, I can agree and say iSyncr is superior. It's fast and easy.

Hey guys,
I am having some issues with getting my music on to my watch. I uploaded my private music to Google play music on my computer and then I installed Google play music on my phone. There I can listen to my private music without a hitch, so it all basically works.
Now when I tick the option to store it on my watch for offline playback, nothing happens... It won't start syncing, no matter what I do =/
Will it only sync music that I actually bought through the play store?
Or has anyone else gotten it to work so far?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers
Michael

I'm not sure if it is relevant but are you a play music subscriber, i.e paying the £7 or whatever the price is?
I got my watch today and had no problem getting the music to download.
With the option selected, go back to your library and click on the download button again, that might work?
Best of luck and merry Christmas
Yeah I am a subscriber.
I downloaded a playlist from google play music and it synchronized with my watch right away. Just the Musik I uploaded from my pc won't sync.
Could it be because it's missing IDE3 Tags? Or because the names are wrong or so?
Edit:
OK, problem solved! Probably a rather stupid mistake I made, but I bet there are others out there as clueless as me... So here's the solution: The music from the Google play music app is ONLY synced to the Android wear watch, once it is downloaded onto the phone as an offline playlist. It makes perfect sense, of course, but I didn't quite get it in the beginning... So what I did, was create a playlist with my private music and checked the "download to device" button. Once the download was done, it automatically sent it to my LG watch.
Thanks for the reply anyway and a merry Christmas to you too!

Google play music has been a letdown being a "locker" and I don't use Spotify or Pandora. SoundCloud is supposed to be a partner but they haven't updated their app yet... I currently use PlayerPro, are there any other music apps compatible that will play music stored on my phone? Ideally supporting POPM and ReplayGain ID3 tags

You can use Google play music to play stuff on your phone.
If the music you want is already uploaded to Google music, just download it to your phone from the google music app and it will play offline

Have been doing this to an extent, but GPM is just not good enough. I already put a lot of time in to my collection and GPM is requiring even more effort. It also likes playing my ringtone/notification oggs. Very annoying.
The whole idea of this thread is to not use GPM.
