Downgrading from 4.3 to 4.2.2 using RUU. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

בס"ד
So now I'm on :
Bootloader *Locked*
Android 4.3 Google Edition - RUU : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781
system vers: 3.07.1700.1
Cid: HTC__K18
Mid: PN0711000
And I'm willing to flash Sense 5 - 2.24.401.9 - 4.2.2 RUU. ------- which only workes with my current Cid and Mid.
Would it go smooth? I'm going from 4.3 to 4.2.2... (I'm also asking about the downgrade, but generally on the whole procces..)
Thanks

Hi @TunneIVision, you mean this thread??
Please post a "fastboot getvar all", ie boot into bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, open a command prompt, go to your adb folder, and type "fastboot getvar all", copy/paste the output here (remove IMEI and s/n)

OK I understand
wish it could be shared though
Anyway, yes with s-off you can run a downgrade RUU, it will fully restore your phone to previous condition, you will keep S-Off, it won't change (a good thing)
I saw you are already LOCKED (not relocked) and have you removed TAMPERED? If LOCKED, no TAMPERED, go ahead and run the RUU. should you receive an error 155 (I think) while running the RUU, then you may need to downgrade hboot.
Go ahead an run it, and let me know if all good

Both , my phone in it current condition and the 2.24.401.9 RUU use same Hboot 1.54.

Sorry, didn't explain, sometimes (usually hboot 1.55) when running a RUU it gives an error 155 (on the PC), that would need to first flash an older hboot to get the RUU to work.
So everything good now

As for root, as far as I know, it won't affect OTAs, and you can also keep bootloader unlocked, doesnt affect OTAs. But definitely keep S-Off in case you wanna change something later on.

run this exe: http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...2706-1027112701-release-308001-signed-2-4exe/
then you'll have stock rom and stock recovery. after this you can relock your bootloader with "fastboot oem lock" and you're as stock as possible for you since you have s-on and hboot 1.54 (so you cant "lock" it, only relock).

i've looked into the cid-list for you and it seems you're using a russian version. i could not find a matching RUU in the collection and don't want to give you any wrong advice.. :/
the problem is that you're on hboot 1.54, so you can't get s-off to change the CID..
maybe someone else can help you with a matching backup..

1) Verify antivirus/firewall is turned off and possibly uninstalled- this is a requirement of rumrunner
2) Which rom are you using? They ask for rom with insecure kernel, or a stock rom
Point is, read over the instructions on rumrunner.us

My point is , that there is something wrong with my phone.
I bought it and except from unlocking the bootloader , I didnt do any changes at all.
I get OTA that m carrier didnt released , even dough I have their CID and MID , and system vers (like I said , didnt do any changes)
I cant change my CID with simple fastboot command.
and rumrunner is just another problem , but its probably has something to do with all of the problems above.
and yes I disabled firewall and I don't have antivirus..

1- remove IMEI and s/n
2- use a 2.24.401.8 ROOTED rom, you can try Guru Reset (select ROOT, unselect "stock recovery"): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
then use rumrunner
I could be wrong, but from what I read hboot 1.5x+ do not allow you to S-OFF, so if you originally had HBOOT 1.44, you should have S-OFFed back then. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

doesnt matter it's not firmware, it's just a stock ROM close enough to your firmware (2.24.401.9), and rumrunner needs a rooted rom. (you install the rom just like any custom rom)
you can always try rumrunner with your current rom, if it doesnt work, then use the one i posted
good luck

2.24.401.9 and 2.24.401.8 are almost (if not fully) the same, the 2.24.401.9 is for the M7_U edition, 2.24.401.8 is for the M7_UL edition; don't know why HTC decided to release different numbers, but software wise they're pretty much the same.

hold on, which rom did he flash?
1- if it's a GPE 4.4, then he needs to be s-off
2- also for 4.4 roms you need this TWRP 2.6.3.3 recovery: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7 (dont use a download manager or it will fail, and check MD5)
flash that recovery, then reinstall the rom

why not just leave your device as it is and flash a custom 4.19 rom?
most of the posts in this thread are from people who have screwed up their device trying to relock and RUU.
I've allready locked the device, stock recovery.. but still can't det rid of the root.. and it doesn't even run.. from the begining it didn't.. said su binary.. bla bla bla...

i like it.. but on my mind is stock.. i've got problems with my old phone (htc one x) with custom rom, but it was carier dependent and wouldn't recieve OTAs
Have you tried flashing the RUU your device came with? Then OTA update to latest
now i'm on custom rom, S-OFF, Unlocked, Rooted and hboot downgraded (1.44) so at this point i can flash the ruu.exe for my htc one (x.401.x.x) but still i don't know if i'll manage to get it back to the Cosmote rom (had some cool programs installed on it)..

if you want to go back to stock and you have s-off and 1.44 hboot then the only thing you need to do is to download and run the 1.28.401.7 ruu.exe from htc1guru.com
it will wipe your phone and restore to stock rom and stock recovery. you will still be s-off. Just don't forget that if you want to remove the tempered flag, you should do it before the ruu

[Solved] Need Help with S-On

Hey guys need ur help with going back to stock.Essentially I flashed the stock ruu and locked the bootloader and toggled my device from S-OFF to S-ON but i forgot to flash the stock recovery after rooting my phone using TWRP. Now my device is S-ON with bootloader locked and with custom recovery.I tried to use revone-0.2.1 to S-OFF and then unlock my bootloader but after few tries it says successful but when i checked the bootloader it shows S-ON and tampered.I even used firewater thta was also unsuccessful so please i need urgent help.
P.S My phone is still rooted.
You don't need to soff to flash stock recovery. You need unlocked bootloader. Unlock it using aio kit and you can flash stock recovery after that. You cannot flash recovery with a locked bootloader.
Sent from my All Metal HTC One.
Android 4.4.2 - Sense 6.0
well i tried using revone's option of unlocking bootloader shows error code -1
Hboot is 1.44
and if ur talking about using the unlock bin code i need stock recovery for that. Can someone provide me a signed stock recovery as i tried to flash a recovery from ruu but it shows signature verification failure.

well I couldn't find signed ruu, OTA, or signed firmware for your version, so best to start over from the beginning (unlock, s-off, etc), and do it again.
but one thing:

the RUU already has stock recovery, so why would you have TWRP there?
EDIT: if you have the recovery.img, maybe make a TWRP flashable zip and install it using twrp. Don't know if that works though.

Thats what I thought... restoring via RUU restores the recovery also.

tried firewater not working asking to start the process again saying nasty chaser , then tried revone it reports success but when i check the bootloader it says s-on i just don't know what to do.
What happens when you choose recovery from bootloader?
finally success took a leap of faith used unlock token from htc and it worked yay.
Thanks to all the people who advised me and helped me troubleshoot.

can you check my guide on how to do it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
RUU.ZIP method using this http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...0-01_release_312087_signed_2_4_decrypted-zip/
this is a decrypted ruu.zip, so it only works with S-OFF.
got a new problem tampered text is not going away
getting error code -2 with revone

I dont need to know your imei (dont post it) Just tell me if the IMEI is still there or it does it say <UNKNOW> ? And does your imei is present in your "fastboot getvar all" output? you might want to return back to stock and see if it works.

it's usually not a good sign, if it's not a hardware problem, possibly a ruu could fix it, and also check this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2728428

hmm, S-ON+hboot 1.57+MID+CID would indicate you are already on a 5.xx.1540.x version
to be honest, i never understood what the other guy did for it to work out for him
the latest ruu for you is (which will not work since it's a lower version): http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...8_10.38r.1157.04L_release_353887_signed_3.exe
or if you have a functioning ROM right now, you may want to try and S-Off, then you can downgrade.

you can't downgrade without S-OFF. so even if you try running that RUU it will fail
i'm saying that if you can get S-Off, then you should try, because that would allow you to use a downgrade ruu... i don't know what "triggered" the other guy's phone to come back to life (whether locking/unlocking bootloader did the trick, or something else... his solution is somewhat vague to me)

format data inside TWRP fixed his problem mate, then I had him flash boot.img and then install the rom, if you mean the guy we were both helping out the other day, I figured everything was a bit of a mess after all the things he had tried flashing.

you already tried it in your other thread, its was done inside TWRP recovery, select wipe then format data, it will leave your phone completely empty, you then have to push a rom to the sdcard to flash.
