[Q] *#*#4636#*#* does NOT work any more? - Moto X Q&A

Does anybody have any ideas that this not work for Moto X?

Use the app LTE OnOff from the play store. It will take you to that settings menu.

Lost the gsm signal! please help!

I tried to change between 3 and 4G by an app but my gsm signal has lost after that. Pls help me how to make it back!
Thanks, Greg
It would help to know which app and what you did. From past experience only reflashing gets you going.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDEsIm5ldC5hbmRpcmMubHRlb25mb2ZmIl0. LTE OnOff
This is the app I tried to use but it's ruined everything. Can you help me? I scrolled down the menu and I accidentaly pushed the "cellular", then the GSM sign has lost and I couldn't restore it.
Thanks, Greg
Use phone info app and try to change it back

and how? I mean I have that app but how can I change anything? this app just gives me a list of system options. how can I apply things with that?

Use the Phone Info app like this.
Now if you go to Phone Information, menu, Select radio band, there are 4 choices:
-USA Band
-Cellular
-PCS
-2-GMHz IMT2000
If you select any of these then some of the frequencies are turned off and there is no way I know of to turn them back on except reflashing the phone. You should only back out of this menu,
and if one of them turned off I should flash with the original stock rom or I can use the batakang too?

in phone info app, click phone info, and then scroll down to set preferred network type. gsm is edge, wcdma is 4g ( my preferred batterys saver), and lte is 4glte. gl mate this should fix it, the other 4g changing apps cause me to lose signal too.

[Q] Dialer in 4.4

Hello,
I just switched from a Nexus 4 to the Moto X (on T-Mobile, running stock). I noticed that my dialer in the Moto X is missing the Google Now functionality (it's not searching local businesses, etc)
Is this happening to anybody else? Is there a setting that I'm missing that turned the feature off?
I found a support entry from Google (Use caller ID by Google) but the option listed (Menu > Settings > Caller ID by Google) is not available on my phone.
I'm going to go home and check on my Nexus 4.
Never mind, I figured it out. Please delete me
Thanks!
Just what did you figure out?

Probably that it's a feature only available on Nexus devices.
Yeah, That's what I came up with... which is why I asked.
Ya I read in an article it didn't make the cut, but all you have to do is install it, it's posted the forums

Has anyone figured out how to get this working with the stock launcher? I'd really like to use the Google Dialer but I don't want to have to use Nova.
Use one of shortcut creating apps in the store. See thebdialer tread in Apps forum.

[Q] LTE Only Network Mode

Does anybody know how to set the network mode to LTE only?
On the G3 I was able to do this in engineering mode. Anybody know how to do this?
Open up the phone app and dial *#2263# and select lte preferences, and select all lte bands.

As soon as I hit the last # it instantly clears out the dialer box and nothing loads.
I am on Dynamic Kat 1.2. I wouldn't think that the ROM would prevent me from doing this.
When the last # is entered on stock it clears out as well, but then the service menu opens. Dialer codes might not work on that rom.

Is there a way to see what is currently selected before enabling all?

After doing this, I was unable to make a call, why is that? Do you know what the original setting was? I selected "LTE/WCDMA Auto" but I am not sure if that is correct.
I would go for lte/gsm/auto or wcdma/gsm auto
This way you always have chance for fallback to gsm when needed

Hey man ive finally find the solution but first your device must be rooted so as to access the buold.prop file. To enable network selection mode edit build prop using root explorer change the following line from ATT to OPEN root is required for this.
Chek the photo to know to line. That's all enjoy dude

What's the purpose of enabling preferred network? Should I do this? I have a D950.
I just tried this now. I am here in Florida with Cricket wireless and service has been spotty. I think the mod stops priority of the LTE and allows for other speeds to function. Stopped getting spotty LTE and now 4g but at higher bars.

hello,
Thanks for ur trick..
It works..
But I am facing some issues with it.
1. I cant type OPEN. it shows only 3 digits "OPE"
2. Changing this changes sms list view to go invisible/ white .in list view it shows nothing.o nce i open sms thread then i can see sms
3. Changing this disables hidden menu.
I really dont know why this happening. But i have confirmed this by doing/undo changes many times.,.. but is it because of issue no 1?
I made the change in the build prop file, gow do i select carrier now?

VS980 39A Google Play not working

My google play store will not download any apps after the update to lollipop. I have cleared the cache and the app data for both the google play store and for google play services. Both are the latest versions. Is there something else that I'm missing?

What is the error you get?
There is no error message. It says it is downloading, but it never makes any progress. Other functions that require internet still work.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm on my Wi-Fi network and it is still going me the same problem.

@Kraken14 i had this same problem. I was getting failed to download error. I made a complain to my isp and mobile service as well. It got fixed after few days.
Try Google DNS: 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 this may fix the problem.
