I don't think USB can be mounted, you could use adb sideload instead if you completely wiped the internal storage but I'd wait till you boot the phone and then do it instead. Remember to make a nandroid backup you're safe to factory reset in recovery if that's what you meant, as that doesn't touch system or your internal sdcard.

thanks could i be cheeky could you tell me how to use adb sideload as ive never used it before thanks:good:
No sorry.
Jokes, so in recovery press 'install zip from sideload' then plug your phone into your PC. Now put your rom zip (rename to rom.zip) in the same folder as your adb file, and put this folder on your desktop. Now use
Code:
cd Desktop
then
Code:
cd 'NAME OF FOLDER'
now use
Code:
adb devices
and check your serial number appears.
Now use
Code:
abd sideload rom.zip
and it will transfer and install

Ok, no it doesn't but first we need to find out why adb isn't working :/
Grab the driver from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=963042&d=1332595157
Extract the drivers
Now go to Start menu and right click on my computer and then click manage.
Now go to device manager and there you should see your connected One listed as being without a driver.
Right click on that entry and select 'update driver'
Now tell it that you have the driver on local disk and then browse to the folder you extracted.
Update your driver.
Disconnect and reconnect the device and try ADBing again.
Should work.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2325853 - it's a sticky at the top of the Q&A page, it happens all the time, don't panic...
"just calm the fu** down", that is what I said to myself when it happened to me, because i panicked a little too...
you should follow the guide in the link that redbull123 provide
but if your fear is taking over you, there are two other and "for me" easily ways to install a rom if you fuc*... wiped your internal sd
1 - install HTC drivers as the provided link (above), then use DROID EXPLORER (look for it in google and install it) to copy a rom into your ONE, then flash!!!
2 - get a OTG cable copy the rom into usb and flash the rom using the usb memory with the OTG cable.
I remembere when i wiped my internal SD, it was because a skin for the recovery TWRP that changes the buttons, so I accidentally deleted my internal SD lol

don't worry about hboot.
try selecting Advanced -> ADB Sideload in TWRP then in cmd command
adb sideload name_of_your_rom.zip
(make sure the rom is in the same folder as your adb/fastboot drivers and your running the cmd window from that folder also)
Hold shift and right click on your folder then click 'Open Command Window here' before you command anything.

Does adb recognize your fone?
Cmd: "adb devices" it should display your fone, while being in recovery.
If not, try and flash latest twrp again, due to fastboot.
Sideload worked fine for me, as I formatted my sdcard..

It wouldn't sideload or anything... But all is well now.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Without OTG Cable
Boot TWRP, then select “Mount”, then select only “Data” and connect your HTC One to your computer.
Considering you have adb.exe (Windows, part of fastboot.zip) or on Linux:
cd Downloads\ROM.zip
adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/
Replace ROM.zip with the ROM filename you copied earlier to Downloads (or any other) folder, then install the ROM.
It should be nearly same running CWM recovery. Hope that helps.

The Issue:
At the moment there is no data or OS installed, however I can access recovery mode.
1. HTC one device does not appear in file explorer; there are no issues with drivers, I've reinstalled and installed all Htc drivers, multiple usb cables have also been used.
2.No OS installed; third party programs require android debugging enabled to recover data.
The Story: was running the android had revolution rom when the I used the Xposed framework uninstall application.. This malfunctioned and set the phone into a boot loop. After which I accidentally formatted my phone.
The Questions: is it possible to fix this myself? Can I recover the data from the formatted storage? How do I get it to connect?
Every piece of help is much appreciated!
Update #1: i attempted to adb push a rom but the "device or resource is busy"

update#2: attempted to reformat again, following android HD revolution's guide.

Also post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (phone must be in bootloader mode), don't post IMEI/serialno

Well it looks like you have a problem with your adb, uninstall it and re-install the latest android sdk tools. You sure your phone was booted in twrp when trying "adb devices" ?
You won't be able to see your phone in the file explorer with twrp 2.6.3.3
You won't be able to flash newer roms with your old firmware (1.29.980.2).
You could flash CWM recovery and restore this nandroid backup and then update your phone

Yup, recent versions of TWRP have MTP support unlike 2.6.3.3
but im getting an issue when i try to restore the linked nandroid back up where it says "couldnt open directory" then "no files found" in CWM recovery.
Click to collapse
Extract the backup folder from zip file and save it in your CWM backup folder: /sdcard/CWM/backup/backup_folder_here
TWRP recovery cant seem to locate the back up either, it just comes up as blank in TWRP.

A cwm backup must be restored using cwm only, it will not work with twrp.
edit1: i was just looking at this guide http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com.au/2015/02/how-to-find-proper-firmware-variant-on.html and "If your device is S-ON then both modelid and cidnum must match."

The backup linked above is for your phone, the version-number match yours so the CID and MID will also match. But reading this wasn't a waste of time, now you understand what to look for when searching for a stock rom :good:
so is it okay to flash that nandroid back up?
Click to collapse
Yes, 1.29.980.2 is for MID: PN0714000 and CID OPTUS001, TELNZ001, VODAP021 or HTC__039. If you type the "fastboot getvar all" command, you will get PN0714000 and one of these 4 CID listed.
"Extract the backup folder from zip file and save it in your CWM backup folder: /sdcard/CWM/backup/backup_folder_here"
After i did that CWM gave me the same "no files found".
so trying to work backwards i made a CWM backup and tried to find where that was saved, which did not appear in file explorer. Turns out its in data/media/clockworkmod/backup ugh but it finally boots now  :victory:
is my firmware the reason why when i flash android revolution HD custom rom, it gets stuck on the HTC one beats audio screen?
Hi there!
I have a TX1085, it is already unlocked and rooted and has the CM Recovery installed. But before the CM Recovery I had the TWRP Recovery installed and tried to use it to flash CM12, which I had put on the SD-Card. It kept on telling me that mounting the system failed. Unfortunately I wiped everything via TWRP Recovery without creating a backup. Then I installed the CM Recovery to try again. Now, if I try to flash via CM Recovery (apply update) it doesn't show anything in my internal storage and I can't connect via adb using Ubuntu (Terminal tells me either "device not found" or "device offline".)
Any suggestions?
Greets
I have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm still learning all this, but in your case, from what I've learnend so far I'd maybe try the "fastboot boot recoveryfile.img" command, loading TWRP or CMrecovery into the ram of the phone and start flashing from there?! (just an idea)

Thanks for your suggestion! Unfortunately I don't know how to get access to my phone again via computer, which is - I think - because I deleted the system on it. Or how else could I get into the ram? This is my first time to flash a phone, so I really need some guidance.

Look for adb in 15 seconds and install it, go to directory where fastboot is located.
Download twrp image and rename it or something and copy recovery.img to fastboot directory.
If there is no recovery.img in that directory it will fail.
After you copy and rename recovery.img then you will be able to do what I told you.
If you are new at modding, you have to take it easy and ask everything before doing it.

I managed to get TWRP working again. I have the .zip-File in my Internal Storage, but can not mount System. How can I do this?
Edit: Wiping data seems to be working but I get the output "E:Unable to mount '/system'". When I try to install the ROM it fails to mount an unmount /system and gets stuck at "Patching system image unconditionally..."

Next time, please ask everything you need before doing something.
I have been modding my phones since the Motorola L7 and I always ask for everything on a new device before start modding.
That way I never bricked my phones.

This post seems to be aiming for Windows users, but I am using Linux. Could I still use it? If yes, how?

That is why I asked you how to get CM installed with TWRP. I had the mounting problem at the very beginning already. How can I get CM installed now?

The commands I wrote before, use the same steps but instead use the cm recovery.
I hope you understand!

In the newer versions of TWRP the first screen should show a Mount button. In that screen you should be able to mount any of the partitions.

If I use the "fastboot boot CM_recovery.img" command the phone installs it and then starts into TWRP. Except for that nothing changes. How can I continue?

If I try to make a tick (as to mount) system the phone vibrates but doesn't tick system, so I can't mount it this way.
