hey mate, edit your post and remove IMEI and serial number, we don't need to see those.
Anyway, most of the details you showed look just fine, except hboot 1.43 As far as I know the lowest hboot for the One is 1.44
You may want to try this RUU instead (slightly newer, but still for you MID & CID): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
Remember that since you're S-On this (and any OTA after) is a one way trip, ie you can upgrade, but cannot downgrade.
And of course you're bootloader has to be locked/relocked to be able to run the RUU.

Flash hboot 1.44 and then try the 1.28.401.7 RUU. That's how I got my device back to stock 4.1.2 and then got 4 OTA updates
1. 1.29.401.1
2. 2.24.401.1
3. 2.24.401.8
4. 3.62.401.1

Hi guys, byesterday I did full backing to stock using this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082) and everything works perfect (Locked, S-On, removed tamperer...) except thing that I not receiving any OTA.
I checked my getvar all and saw that my hboot is 1.43.
Here is mu getvar all:
C:\adb>fastboot getvar all

I have 2 questions: Can I upgrade hboot (1.43) to 1.44 and run correct RUU with Locked Bootloader and S-on or I have to unlock bootloader again, root phone get s-off...?
And if i need to do all of this again, can you provide me the easiest way (links)?
I need to get back my Htc ONE to RMA (camera issue)..
Thanks!!

you can change your hboot to 1.54 during upgrading your firmware to 2.24(it comes together)
you can find steps there:

good luck

Ah ok. That's what I was looking to confirm.
Do you know anything of an ENG BOOT? Any pros\cons for that?

The latest firmware brings updated touch screen drivers and a newer radio amongst other things and it's worth flashing for that alone as many feel it makes the device feel that little bit snappier. If you already have s-off then you won't lose that updating the firmware but if you haven't then you will not be able to s-off with hboot 1.54 at the moment so s-off before updating.
However available roms based on 2.24 will run ok on your existing firmware and the radios can be flashed independently so it's not essential to update if you're happy with your current setup.
Regarding the eng hboot I would advise against that as any modified hboot brings with it an increased risk of permanently bricking.
Most say that updating the firmware improves the device but as I say it's not essential at the moment so basically it's your choice.

There is no eng hboot for this phone, at least not one that will boot.

Thanks a lot for the clarification!
I flashed the "Combo" RUU from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316726) and removed the HBOOT and Recovery images from them to avoid updating my HBOOT and overwriting my current custom recovery.
Does this still achieve what you noted in the first paragraph of your response? Do I have to update my HBOOT to achieve any other benefits? I guess I'm just trying to get at, what exactly does updating the HBOOT (the phone's bootloader) achieve?
Currently as I see it, I see the "firmware" as something other than the "HBOOT" (the other files within that same "Combo" RUU), correct?

I'm not sure to be honest as I always flash the full firmware package so I don't know if there will be any mismatch if the hboot has been left out.
If you are already s-off then I would flash the full 2.24 firmware package from the thread you quoted and then reflash your recovery in fastboot (no need to reboot into RUU mode) either CWM here or TWRP here following finally by flashing your rom
I can't open the link to download the firmware package for that post..... I used this 2.24 firmware package which I assume is the same as in the page you used but I would suggest this as I know it works fine
I stumbled across this when trying to find out what parts do what and are apart of what:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43328416&postcount=3375
Apparently the HBOOT is part of the "firmware"
So again, if I update the HBOOT to 1.54 from 1.44, could I theoretically go back and forth between 1.54 and 1.44 whilst S-OFF?
EDIT: I just upgraded using the RUU from the link I posted, using the non-"combo" version.
I modified the android-info.txt to match my CID with the SuperCID I currently have, and I reinstalled my choice of recovery afterwards (TWRP, same version I had before.)
I'm now getting these 2 lines at the end of my 'getvar all' command via FASTBOOT:
commitno-bootloader: dirty-d16dc66985
hbootpreupdate: 11
what do those lines mean?
EDIT #2: I successfully switched back to HBOOT 1.44 whilst still S-OFF and got rid of those weird messages

I have the 64 gb dev edition, non-carrier branded and using TMO network. Already updated to 2.24 with AndroidRevo12 and didn't have S-Off first, so I gather there's no going there for now w/o going back to pre-2.24. But the whole reason I started down that road was cuz I thought I needed S-Off to flash radio by itself. I just want the new radio for the LTE bump since I seem to have such good LTE coverage at home and work.
If I don't need S-off to flash radio as "that can be done independently," then can you offer any possible reasons why I'm getting a signature verify fail when trying to push first revone (via adb), then later (once I gave up on S-off) while trying to flash the new radio.img fia fastboot?
(radio img is the new TMOUS 4A.17.3250.20_10.440.1150.04L)
Fastboot and adb seem to be fine otherwise, and phone settings are all proper (debug/etc). Bootloader obviously unlocked, etc...HBOOT is 1.44.
Hi Guys i am following this guide to restore my phone to stock for HTC repair (camera issue)

it mentions that can brick if has a modified HBOOT when re-locking the bootloader

s-on is OPTIONAL, it's up to YOU to decide that
still having trouble, found my original stock backup of 4.2.2, but now have HBOOT 1.44, i really need a full Vodafone UK RUU the .exe version would probably be best but just cant find anywhere, cant even flash the OTA RUU probably because I have mismatched firmware, recovery and HBOOT now,
well UPS is picking it up tomorrow so i'll just have to hope they don't refuse repair due to software not being 100% stock especially as the issue is a hardware fault
wish me luck and thanks for you help

don't forget you need "stock recovery" for OTA to update correctly, and do not go from s-off to s-on on 4.3 (hboot 1.55) it will most likely trigger a "tamper detected"!!
if you did get hboot 1.55 just keep s-off, otherwise you're gonna be back on square 1.
I have to sign off now, but you can PM me if anything comes up before tomorrow.
if my guide did help you in any way, i would appreciate it if you posted your details, in my thread (whenever you get a chance), it will be helpful to others.
and hit the thanks button in the guide
good luck :fingers-crossed:
Yeah I flashed my original stock backup, flashed stock recovery and locked bootloader , I had forgot to change my CID back, it wasn't till u advised that I post my " getvar all" that I noticed, I haven't checked if my HBOOT is still 1.44 or updated to 1.55 yet, I left s-off hope it still is, again many thanks mate

Yeah I'm on HBOOT 1.55 now but still s-off, I take it if I s-on again I won't be able to get it back, I used rumrunner s-off last time but I that was on HBOOT 1.54 iirc, not that it matter now anyway

Keep s-off, otherwise u may end up having to start at square 1, and if I read correctly, u have to send it off in the morning.
UK repair centers seem quite decent, and they can't really prove it wasnt s-off to begin with.
"what's s-what anyways, hmm, no clue what u talking about"

the variant error shows up when your OS in the bootloader and Software number inside the ROM doesnt match, you need to find a compatible ROM, the ROM you are using (3.63.707.3) is for India/Asia with cid HTC__038 and HTC__044 and MIDs PN0711000 and PN0714000 respectively, what's your Model ID? can you post the results of "fastboot getvar all" excluding your Serial No. and IMEI? if you can tell me your Model ID i can suggest the compatible stock ROM reset or RUU for your phone

can you gain s off using Rumrunner? because i cant find a stock Reset Guru Rom that matches your Model ID and CID, but there is an RUU for PN0711000 and HTC__J15 , it downgrades the OS so it requires s off , @nkk71 what do you think, man?

Found a compatible RUU from the thread you gave. But couldn't flash the RUU zip, always got different errors.
Got sick of this after 11 hours of research and stuff. I've just SOFF'd my M7 with Sunshine, revert back to 1.29 (Sense 5 and 4.1.2 ) now installing all the firmwares one by one.
Thanks for your help mate.

did you relock bootloader and use the htc_fastboot.exe? then it should have worked just fine.
anyway, S-OFF is a much better thing to have imho, and since you're S-OFF you could consider changing the modelid to PN0710000; obviously it wont give you LTE (since the hardware is missing), but would allow you to get the "regular" .401. OTAs
but guess you wont need to worry about that for the time being, since PN0711000 is also on new version now.
Help please?? I am trying to RUU my HTC One. I successfully relocked my bootloader.
However, when I start the process, it fails (unknown error). I am told that I need to use the "correct" RUU and try again. My problem is that the one I am using claims to be correct. Sprint_HTD_One_m7wls_1.29651.10_RUU.zip
I have noticed that when I am going through the RUU process I am shown the screen that asks to compare the current version with the new one. The current image version is blank. Nothing there. No current image version at all.

The RUU you are trying to flash is a downgrade, thats why you can't flash it. 1.29.651.10 is for hboot 1.44 and you are on 1.56. You need s-off to downgrade with a ruu.
Refer to the sprint htc one forum to see if this is possible to s-off your phone on hboot 1.56 and then downgrade using the ruu
or
flash a rom for sprint htc one.

first your bootloader is relocked, you'll need to unlock it.
flash twrp recovery for M7WLS (sprint variant)
then download a sprint compatible rom. You can find them here .
push it to your phone and flash it.
If you have questions about how to do any of these steps ask me here, we'll go step by step...

My basic problem is that my radios were not connecting with Sprint at all. So, I understand that I need to do a RUU to fix that. Flashing a custom rom won't fix that (?). Now, I am unlocked with S-on. I have TWRP available. When I reboot, I am taken to the HTC lock screen, but if I unlock it, I get a white HTC screen that lets me do nothing.
I just want to get it back to what I had when I took it out of the box. If you can walk me though this, I would appreciate it. I am NH if we can do this vocally.

download this ruu.zip http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip-m7_wls_jb_50_sprint_1-29-651-10_ruu_decrypted-zip/
save it in the same folder where adb and fastboot are
reboot your phone in bootloader mode, select fasboot, plug your usb cable.
open your command prompt from fastboot/adb folder
type:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
(make sure you use capital letter for RUU)
your phone will reboot in ruu mode, a black screen with a silver HTC logo
then type:
Code:
fastboot flash zip <name_of_ruu_you_have_downloaded>.zip (without < and >)
wait for the ruu to flash. It will probably output something like: failed, flush image again so do the same command again
Code:
fastboot flash zip <name_of_ruu_you_have_downloaded>.zip (without < and >)
then
Code:
fastboot reboot
your phone should boot to your stock rom.

The download has begun working but all my attempts truncate/stop at around 20MB... Nowhere near 1gb. I will keep trying -- because right now I have an HTC One with working Cyanogenmod... but no connectivity at all with Sprint.
Do you happen to have a copy you can throw in dropbox for me?
And... this is the first time I've ever used these forums, so, I am still learning what I am doing. Thanks for your patience
I did download a rom called
Sprint_HTC_One_3.04.651.2_Stock_Rooted_Odexed.zip
If I flash this, will it fix my radios or will it just put me deeper in the hole?
I am on my 10th try for the htc1guru ... but none has made it past 40mb

I finally was able to download the entire file. Then, I carefully followed instructions as you sent...
At last step, I received a "failed 32 header error"
so, I repeated the flashboot flash zip command again. same error
repeated a third time. same error
did fastboot reboot and.... nothing still at cyanogenmod with no connectivity. It didn't take.
It went as planned up until the Failed message.
Please tell me you have another idea or a way to deal with this.

I did finally get the entire file... and did everything you suggested. Unfortunately, I got a Failed remote "32 header error"
I repeated the whole procedure a second time. Still nothing. I checked the MD5 of the file and it apparently was corrupt.
SO... I was back to Cyanogenmod 11 with no Sprint. As a last ditch try before retiring to bed, I came upon a zip file that said it had Sprint radio files. I figured, heck, what have I got to lose? So, I flashed the small zip. and POOF... works! My phone is back AND I didn't have to go back to stock.
I do want to say THANK YOU for all your help. Knowing you were there to help me along encouraged me not to throw my phone under a passing truck. I am sure that once we got that dang file downloaded correctly, it would have worked.
Even though it didn't turn out as we started.... your help was immeasurable for me. Thanks again.

Did you flashed a sprint compatible custom rom? You can't flash custom roms for the M7_UL on your m7_wls, both phones haves different partitions layout. Reflash a sprint custom Ron using a sprint compatible custom recovery or flash the latest sprint ruu from htc website (Google search: htc support rom download).

I just bought an HTC One which is unlocked but it shows the O2 bootscreen. I wish to debrand the phone but will that lock the phone? I am not sure how the phone was unlocked by the previous user. Thanks

No it will not lock the phone, unless you want it locked. Post a fastboot getvar all except remove the imei and serialno and we will be able to direct you how to rebrand your phone.

I dont know if you are talking about sim unlock or bootloader unlock but anyway, both sim and bootloader will stay unlocked even if you flash another rom or if you debrand the phone.
I see
@alray Yeah I mean sim unlock, Can you post a link of a guide to install stock htc rom to debrand. Will I be able to get OTA updates? What steps are needed Unlock bootloader, s-off, change cid custom recovery and install rom? Can you link me to a stock rom with ota for europe or international version. I had a look at the first link in your sig but its kinda confusing.
@nkk71 can you help?

If you want a full conversion, you can s-off the phone, change cid to HTC__001 and flash a x.xx.401.x RUU. Your best option to s-off on hboot 1.57 is probably sunshine s-off but its a paid exploit (25 USD) or you can try firewater, its free but it will require more steps and you have like 50% chance it will not work.
or the easier way, if you only want a debranded rom, you could only unlock the bootloader, flash twrp 2.6.3.3 and then flash a rom (like arhd 71.1)

@alray Hey I did everything and am now trying to get the right RUU for europe or international. I flashed this : RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe and it seems to be fine except I am still s-off and an for some reason an option while doing the initial wizard called Tell HTC tells me this is a test device so this option will remain on. What is causing this? My device is a test device?! Wrong RUU?
Edit: I am updating the phone but it wont find the latest after every boot it finds the next. Now installing 4.3, it was 4.1.2 to begin with..

Tell HTC/test device is normal. You'll always get this message at the initial setup with s-off phones, don't worry with this.
The ruu will not turn back s-on and thats a good thing. Keep your phone s-off.

Yeah I thought it was the s-off causing this. Thanks for you reply, gonna install update after update and see if it comes up with the latest. Bit strange it doesn't install the absolute latest, but I guess the final update size would be huge to have all the fixes in previous versions in one.

updates must be installed incrementally, don't worry you'll eventually be on the latest version.
