[Q] Some apps looses it settings on Z1 - help ! - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am general happy with my Z1, but 1 thing is quit frustrating. I got 3 apps installed (1 home banking, 1 personal files app, 1 account widget) Theese 3 apps all Looses there settings over time. Example - I used them yesterday, but this morning ALL have lost their settings. I tried to test what happend, if I log out of the apps, and login Again - all settings are still there. If I turn off my phone and start it up Again - ALL settings are there. But it seems that overnight - or over some time, the phone "erase" the settings. I dont know if the Z1 somehow clear the cache and settings for programs. Anybody know a solution - or have similar problems???????????

Really? Am I the only one with this problem?

Try going into settings > applications > manage applications and clearing the data for Market as well as uninstalling the update. Then go to Google Services Framework (still in manage applications) and clear it's data as well.
Go back and reopen the market and see if that fixed anything.

Did that.... Had to reboot for market to run... Acceptwd the terms again nd the top paid tab completely disappeared... dunno what the problem is.....

Well, I got some help on it.... I installed market enabler nd changed the code to another provider, cleared market data and the market was back to normal... I could see the paid apps as per country spefic.... The only thing that I dont understand is thaT I got the working market after I factory reset the phone, my operator remaining same, but it stopped working gradually... I was using network data connection all the time, did not use wifi... Any ideas what the problem would be??

Watch on in notification bar

Ok this is driving me crazy, randomly the app watch on will pop up in my notification bar. I disable it and it will just pop up again at a random time. Does anyone know how to permanently remove? besides freezing it of course

This just started happening to me the other day. I don't understand why because it hasn't done it before. I too disabled the notification and it automatically turns itself back on. I cleared the data and started over but that did not help. I froze the app with tbu a little bit ago because I rarely use it. It is frustrating because that is one of the only Samsung apps that I like. I too would like to know of a fix for it.

holllly cow. I have been battling this for 3 days now. I thought it was just my phone being supper glitchy. I have gone as far as to uninstall the app... witch will stop it from comming up in the notification bar. Then i re download it from play store. After about 4 reboots it comes back. I will set it in the setting to not come on in notification pannel. Boom its back. No way to stop it..... same with a few other apps. Its like they do not close the correct way and do not save the settings. My swannview dvr app is one more that wont save settings because it won't close correctly.
I don't know if this narrows it down but I noticed when I had wifi turned off I never got it but the second I turned it back on it started popping up again.
I have the same problem. This morning, while trying to disable the notification bar setting again, I got nag popup about allowing Watchon to use mobile data or only wifi. I selected the allow mobile data option and do not ask me again. Now, I can't find the setting to change it back to see if that would affect the notification bar problem. I don't want to test all of the settings because I would lose the devices that I have setup. I assume the problem is caused by an update to Watchon. The only thing I have changed recently us switching to Nova Launcher. Could this be related?

Judging by this I would assume it is the location settings that is triggering this. Try to go to system settings > More > Location services > My places > Choose the places and click none. I can't confirm this works, but it seems that this is triggering for the problem. Also note this isn't a great solution; other location services may be affected with this change.
This is caused by the latest WatchOn update.
I use WatchOn since the day I get my S4 Active (2 months ago) and this NEVER HAPPENED before the update.
I had to disable WatchOn with TB.
Another example of Samsung messing up good stuff!

It has nothing to do with location services. All of mine were already set to none, and I have the same problem.

Sorry then, it must have been the WatchON lock screen location settings I was thinking of. No clue, honestly.
So did this ever get worked out? I just got the note 3 and am already seeing this behavior.
SOLUTION!..
Here is how i disabled remote control on notification panel and lock screen.
Its on Watchon Settings.
watch work done
This is what I did:
Settings
More
Application Manger
Samsung WatchOn
Remove the check for "Show Notifications"
This doesn't stop the program from starting on powerup, but it removes it from the notifications.
This is a thread that should be closed. The problem was fixed by an update. I can confirm that it did exist at one time, but the only people that still have thre problem either have not updated or they have not changed their settings.

Please help me, how to reduce a android system battery drain ???

I m using Sony Xperia TX my drained in 8 hrs, i m using android JB 4.1.2 the android system taking above 50% of battery.
Can anyone help me ???
Thanks.
An Amateurs guide to Battery Saving
1. Disable everything that you do not currently need, such as
- Wifi
- Data connection
- GPS
- Rotation sensor
- Synchronisation, auto-location
- Don't use widgets especially not those which need constant updates
2. Delete / uninstall everything not needed, such as
- Facebook
- Twitter
- Timescape and all it's connectors to email, FB, Twitter, etc
- Gmail (use Email, no need to use Gmail)
- de-install all other Google bloat, such as Now, Hangouts, etc.
Root your phone and uninstall the above and more. Basically get rid of all Sony and Google bloatware. Or alternatively, learn how to flash another already trimmed Rom.
3. Disable everything you may need but you are not sure yet (that's in settings\apps). Install Greenify (download from Google Play), greenify apps that you downloaded.
4. Find a replacement for Task manager WITH option to close all programs at once
5. Generally, switch off auto-functions and use your phone manually, and don't install things which you think only you could use.
6. When you are ready trimming your phone and adjusting it to your needs, charge the battery to 100 % + 2 h. By using the phone normally allow it to deplete the battery uninterrupted, until the phone switches off itself. Repeat a second time. Afterwards the device is calibrated to your usage and battery. By far the biggest battery user will be your screen. Usage values in between 40 - 60 % are normal. At this stage it does make most sense getting used to a somewhat dimm screen. Therefore it does not make much sense to be too obsessed with software battery saving methods.
7. A last tip:
- Don't charge your phone always to 100 %. Charge it to somewhere above 90 %, and let it run down to 20 - 10 % before the next charge. Do a 100 % charge only occasionally.
thanks
thanks dude

With stamina mode on, your phone should last a day, at least. But if you keep toggling your phone all the time, 8 hours is good.
Running it 2 hour screen on..cpu speed is 384-12xxmhz but battery cant even last..im just using whatsapp for the first hour and the rest I use to fb and web surfing, does browsing in desktop mode consume more battery??

There's a thank button for a reason.
Use an app called Greenify and hibernate any apps that can potentially reduce battery life. Facebook is an example.

Alarm Manager drain can be avoided by always closing all applications with the back key (not with the home key, as some users do)
Try it, might work!

It is not the alarm manger itself which does this, but connected apps and widgets, I think. It can be Google Talk. Or if you have Google syncing constantly enabled, in particular in the instance one of the sync services can not complete it's task bcs it's broken, that causes big battery drain. Or if you have a weather widget which updates frequently especially if it can not bcs you have no data connection. Look for all these things and switch off what you don't need, disable non essential notification, remove hungry widgets or try another one that just keeps the last data displayed as long as there is no connection or shows "no connection", and not keeps on trying. Many apps also offer the possibility to set the auto-update frequency. For example updating a weather app more often than every 2 h does not make much sense.

Mobil mode uses about 50 - 100 Mb for my websites, I observed desktop connection uses 200 Mb and more. Sure that will effect battery drain at least indirect.

Everything you mentions is off or disconnected.
data connection off, no sync services in background,
Disabled Google apps, talk, hang out ect.
Weather apps updates every 12 hours or unless I manually do it by switching on data connection or wifi..
Then wifi / data connection is off

[Q] Mobile data acting weird [Urgent]

Hi all,
So today the mobile data of my dad's s3 mini started to act weird.
He can access facebook, and some other apps while in data ( the apps are installed through play store... )but the youtube app, or accessing youtube, facebook, google or any other site on the internet browser is impossible.
He can use about 1GB of data and it resets every month, but he only used 600MB over the last 3 months so that can't be the problem.
I tried googling it but haven't seen anything that helped me.
Is there any fix for this, if yes, then please tell me i don't have to put it in default settings
Thanks in advance
-ozi
EDIT: Okay so if you happen to have this problem follow these steps:
Go to your menu and press settings.
Then go to mobile networks, located under the connectivity tab
Now there are some options, one of them is called "access point names", click that
Then you got 1 or more circles which you can check, see which one has a green dot in it, for me it was the first, keep that one in mind
Now hit the menu button and choose "reset to default settings", this will set everything back to default, obviously .
Now choose the circle again which you kept in mind, enable data and ur done!
He just told me that some stuff happened in his pocket but doesnt know what
Also fyi, its on stock, not rooted, not unlocked... Pure stock
Aight I fixed it, see the first post for the fix

[SOLVED] Cannot load pictures in some apps

Hello, I have this strange problem that just appeared a few weeks ago. I can't see any pictures in 2 apps that I use frequently - eBay and Mobile.de. In eBay for example when I search for something I do see its image but when I click on it - no pictures at all. Although it shows me that there are let's say 4 or 5 pictures and I can scroll through them but they won't load.
Mobile.de is not showing any pictures at all no matter what I do. Strange is that the problem appeared on both of them at the same time. I believe it has something to do with my phone as I have no issues opening those 2 apps on my tablet and they work fine. Another thing that I see is with one specific web site - tomshardware.com. For some reason it loads in Chrome in some compatibility mode - text and links only. No background and no pictures. Other sites are loading ok.
What's my setup and what I've tried so far:
Xperia V, root stock 4.3 (9.2.A.2.5). Removed the mentioned apps (and Chrome as well), restarted the phone, cleared the cache partition and installed the apps again. I have an AdFree app so I also uninstalled it. Nothing changed. Spoke with Mobile.de's support - they said that's a known issue and they're working on a fix. However as I mentioned, I've opened the app on another 4.3 Android. I do get some errors when looking at the logs but can't understand them. So if you can advise on an app that can collect the logs, I'll do that and share them.
Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Did you find a solution?
Yes, turned out that it was the AdFree app. It's an app that blocks ads. Uninstalling it won't bring back the original hosts file, so you have two options - the app itself gives you the option to restore the original hosts file. Or you can open the file with a text editor on the phone and delete i.ebayimg.com (I believe that was the one, I don't have it anymore so can't confirm it ) Now both ebay and mobile.de load pictures.
Haha, just found this old answer to my question. It was same for me
