Not sure if I'm the only idiot user who has attempted to sideload an app and been frustrated with an error I would receive.
Using ADB Install I would get: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK]
In Wondershare it would fail to install as well with a similar message next to the install line in red of Older SDK.
When trying to install it through Root Explorer it would kick back a parse error right from the Gear Device.
Explanation: Inside each APK is a AndroidManifext.xml file. That file holds the instructions/parameters for the install of the application. One such delimiter is the MINIMUM version of Android to which it will install. (its actually the SDK version but for simplicity sake we will call it the Android Version because the SDK revision holds the info on what Android Versions it supports.) In my case it was Maps.apk. When downloading the APK using Real APK Leacher I was using my google login with my S4 ID. My S4 was running Android 4.3. The play store spit back a file compatible with my device. When I attempted to load it on my Gear which runs Android 4.2.2 it would puke/fail. Scratching my head I searched like a ***** only to find explanations/definitions/work arounds for developers in articles they would understand. Low and behold I was able to find a nut and figure it out.
Resolution: Use an older APK that is compatible with the version of Android I was running. In this case Maps 7.1 was compatible with 4.2.2 so I scabbed that APK and it installed flawlessly. I wanted to post this because I searched like hell and spent quite a bit of time trying to figure this issue out and wanted to save some other poor sap some time.
Anyway I hope this help someone.
Thanks!! it help me!!:good:

A very good vnc solution that is *actually* useable....It's beyond me as to why this isnt on the market (maybe its the $25?)
Play around with it...its quite fun...
Where's the link?
Is this it: http://code.google.com/p/android-vnc-viewer/ ?
Android VNC Viewer
So last night i saw a post on googles own vnc viewer which is coded to work on the g1 and the android emulator.
Well, I forwarded my ports correctly and setup my server accordingly. I am using TightVNC as well as UltraVNC at seperate times.
I am able to establish a connection through all services on my g1, (3g edge and wifi). Only when I arrive on the connection
I am greeted with only a black screen. I switch to mouse control on my g1 by pressing trackball and can see me moving the pc mouse from my g1.
So my connection is working flawlessly but my only error is that i cant see anything on my g1.
Is there a special mirror driver i must install??? somebody please help me for i use remote desktop as a part of everyday life
Latest androidVNC viewer
As long as none of these are shown as released on http://code.google.com/p/android-vnc-viewer/ I'll keep compiling and placing them here. I'll edit this post with the current latest so it's easy for everyone to download without spending the time getting eclipse up and working.
r17 allows saving of multiple servers for quick-connect profiles.
I do not know if you need to uninstall the previous version before installing this one. I always uninstall before installing the new one with a project that changes as much as this one has recently.
Thanks buddy!
Thanks so much! I hope this app gets the development it deserves. This, and an rDesktop app are needed badly!

Android-VNC Viewer Compile?
How do I go about compiling the source code for the Android-VNC Viewer located at (http://code.google.com/p/android-vnc-viewer/).
I looked around and seen a post that said I would have to compile it on linux / mac... I do have Ubuntu setup on this machine as a separate OS but I'd rather not boot into Linux just to do that...
Anyone run native Linux that can compile the APK and add a link? If not then I will as long as I know how
just download the apk they have for download and use that.
The APK that is on there is far outdated compared to where the project currently is. For instance, there is a post that links r17's release on it which allows you to save settings, change color mode and a few other nice features... The current build is up to r28 now so I'm sure better support and newer features were added since then.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3199765#post3199765
I think that build is only a few days old.
r31 is now the latest and the developers have released it directly:
http://android-vnc-viewer.googlecode.com/files/androidVNC_build090125.apk
They compiled it this time around so I didn't have to
Thank you! Cant wait to try it. =)
Hmmm, I tried the linked apk and it won't install. The older version still works.
I checked out the trunk but it is the same as the previous release.
I checked out the antlersoft branch but it doesn't compile: package com.antlersoft.android.dbimpl does not exist
Has anyone else tried the latest version apk or compiling?
I've tried it, and it won't connect for me. However, I haven't tried any previous versions, so I may have it set up incorrectly.
The R17 build won't work for me, so chalk it up to that. Or my stupidity.
Well I downloaded it to my laptop and then installed via adb and it worked.
Usually I download with steel and install from the sdcard. But that didn't work this time for some reason. (new JF1.41 or new vnc or user error?)
This wouldn't install for me from the sd card. Any ideas?
Yeah it wont install for me either, I tried both AppsInstaller from SDcard and adb - neither were successful... I noticed the build is now at 33, any chance we can get someone to compile it? Maybe the issue was fixed but not repacked?
There's an "official" build/apk out on http://code.google.com/p/android-vnc-viewer/. The filename calls is 090125 which, I assume, means January 25th I downloaded it and tried to install it from my phone (not via adb) and it failed to install for me (BTW, so does the -17 version in the first post). Could be that the key is installing via adb, I don't know. I'll try it later when I have a chance but I thought everyone owuld be interested in the update.
I reported this as an issue on the project, however after fully uninstalling the previous app and downloading the file directly from my G1 it installed successfully. I did not use the SDcard / AppsInstaller or ADB - I just used the traditional method of going to the site on my phone and installing it from there, after I uninstalled the previous version.
Hopefully this works for you guys as well.
Anybody has experience installing JBED Java re: these instructions on the Nexus One?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563964
I got as far as installing everything but the Java runtime FC everytime on load.
Works fine on my Magic.
Hi olgs
I searched and tryed a lot till getting this to run.
Finally I extracted the needed files from the MoDaCo Custom Rom for Nexus One "r14 with default MoDaCo additions" and installed them with the same instructions and it works on my Nexus One with cyanogenmod
To download just search the Forum for: 27/Apr r14 - MoDaCo Custom ROM for Nexus One *Chinese Input*
The needed Files are:
system/app/Jbed.apk
system/lib/libjbedvm.so
For all others which wanted to install Jbed on an Android 2.1 devices such as the Nexus One, i think it should work as it did for me
I also uploaded the needed files but since i'm new to the forum i can't post URL's maybe i can send them via PM or else email just ask

Can anyone tell me how to install this on my Desire HD??
I copied the two files to the root of the sdcard, installed the apk, but when I open the jded app, always facion force close process...
What is the .so file for?
First of all you need a rooted phone!
After that you need to put the files where i mentioned:
system/app/Jbed.apk
system/lib/libjbedvm.so
You can do this with some kind of root-explorer or with the android-tools on your PC via USB (command "adb push file target" or similar - google for it)
This "jbed" work on every 2.1 android phones? (SE X10i)
And after that can I install .jar/.jad files?
I had several jar games and apps from my previous symbian phone. Can I use them in SE x10 mini with jbed?
Thanks.
Hey my lib folder thats under system has only 1.35 mb free and the .so files is more, so any way i can solve this issue... any suggestions
any solution in froyo with this whole jbed stuff ?!
Its working with sbbmobile on a hero with cm6 here.
With my N1 and froyo roms its crashing all the time.
Fortunately sbb finally decided to develop an android app till march 2011.

use root explorer open system in r/o (butten upperleft corner)
Hey all -- so i flashed back to JH6 with ODIN, got the JH7 update through Kies Mini, and then rooted. I also decided to use Launcher Pro as my default homescreen launcher.
Now i'm trying to use SWM to sideload some apps, but I always get the error (something like this) FAILED INSTALL PARSE UNKNOWN EXCEPTION ... the program recognizes my device just fine and loads up the .apk just fine but fails on trying to install it onto my phone.
anyone have an idea of what might be going on
SWM is unnecessary after root isn't it

The 2 are not related. You do NOT need to root to use Sideload. The SWM just uses the ADB command from the SDK. You can do this all day long without root.
If you want to install apps from your phone (not your PC) then you need to root and then you need to edit the settings.db file to allow sideload on the phone. You can't get to settings.db without rooting your phone.
Does that help?

sort of not really, as i'm trying to upload apps/widgets from my pc. i want to hold off buying Root Explorer, and apparently Droid Explorer doesnt work on win7 64-bit systems yet ... just kind of odd that SWM can't load to my phone. i either get the INSTALL PARSE FAILURE UNKNOWN EXCEPTION or INSUFFICIENT SPACE or OLDER SDK errors. doesn't make sense to me...
turn debugging on ,
don't put the .apk files in the sideloader folder at all. caused the whole no space avaliable for me when i did that
try that... works for me.
updated with the ota an i'm rooted.
yeah i had debugging on, left the apks in a completely separate folder (didnt put them in the payload folder). the main failure i get is the install parse unknown exception one
im thinking it might actually be the apks i'm trying to upload. i got one apk to upload successfully, so maybe the other ones have some bad code in them. *shrug*
specifically i've been trying to upload the REVOlution transparent apps. all of them fail for me. then i uploaded minimal icons apk just fine.
Perhaps these might help some of the devs here.
The installer helper app didn't seem to do anything (as expected since this is for an Archos) but maybe ripping it apart to see what it's doing may help.
I downloaded the apps from within apps.zip as well but the only ones that would install was media uploader and maps. The rest gave parse errors.

This would be great if it work for our device. I shall look into it but I have close to no experience with android programming

I have a (speculative) feeling that the version of Android included with the Archos tablets may be more complete than what ships on the Nooks. Still, this may be helpful. I'm 'bouts to tear into it.
Interesting to see this thread started today. Last night I found the gapps for Archos and tried a few things but to no avail. The error that I was getting was that it only ran on xxx. I can't remember the exact wording. But someone that actually knows how to read/write software code might be able to make something out of this Archos package.
This works for Archos because the '/system/app' directory has aliases to the '/data/test/froyo/system' folder. Basically, Archos sorta knew we'd manually install the Market.
If the Nook has something similar, it could work, but you'd have to see what writable directory the Nook has if they even do this like Archos.
If they don't have the files like this prefixed with a 0 then you'd probably need full root to get the market going. However, I'm not root expert to guide Nook users nor do I have a Nook... (=

Hi there anyone!
This is my first post ever so I'm sorry if it's not the right place, but I really need help with this thing.
I used to have XPosed Framework running on my old Doogee DG550, and it was real fun. Now I got a Doogee F5 running Android 5.1 and I decided to put XPosed it too.
However, I'm finding it extremely difficult, as I got "stuck" while trying to follow the guide in this post.
I've installed the XPosed Installer just fine, I can see it in my apps, but of course it still says I need to install the Framework. So I downloaded the version mentioned in that post, which is xposed-v85-sdk22-arm64.zip and then the Official TWRP App I found on the PlayStore.
Then I simply tried to open the app and find the file while searching through my folders, but the app couldn't recognize it. So I tried extracting it in a folder and then pointing out the entire folder to the app, and this failed too. I tried opening every single folder within the .zip file, but yet no usable file was found.
Now I'm kinda stuck: I don't really know what I'm doing wrong, and as you might have already figured out I'm a real noob at this.
If any of you people can help, that would be great!
