Hey guys i'm just a sucker for customization was happy with ADW EX, then yeah i came across this thing called CM7 which supports amazing themes.
So i upgraded to 2.3 n rooted it. . .but i hardly had a clue about installing custom roms. i kept researching on the net n then one day decided to finally go for it.
The first step i s obviously installing the CWM Recovery n that's where i commited the BLUNDER!!
I flashed CWM from ROM MANAGER and then my phone was bricked like totally dead, i tried all the online solutions but nothin worked but luckily my warranty was still intact n the samsung guys rescued me.
after spendin considerable amount of time on the internet there are
3ways A GALAXY MINI can get BRICKED
1. FLASHING CWM Recovery From ROM MANAGER
2. Downgrade 2.2 from 2.3 using a 2.3 OPS
3. BY Flashing stock Rom on top of a Custom Rom
i've also found out that CWM has bricked quite a few HTC devices while PARTIONING SD CARD.
SO BE CAREFULL GUYS, any experiment u wanna try on, search for GALAXY MINI only.
Hope i was some help! If u know any other way then please post n make this thread as usefull as possible for first timers like me

Well, never bricked my phone either. But, rom manager does NOT support s5570. So, you shouldn't even try installing cwm with

I flashed cwm from odin (5.0.0.x). I also have ROM Manager installed on my device. Everything's working nice and smooth.

If u flash CWM from Odin n use ROM MANAGER its not gonna harm mini, but yeah DON'T EVA try flashin CWM from ROM Manager. HARD Brick is surety guys trust me.
Usin ROM MANAGER alone will not brick the device howeva if u flash CWM then like i said its a surety.

Not completely true... Have read reports of people that used ROM manager only to enter CWM. And still, they bricked their phones. It's just a weird piece of software... I decided to stop using it... It ain't that hard to enter recovery mode manually...
I flashed once the stock rom over cm7 had no prob...!...haven't tried other two...anyway thnks for the info....

Yeah totally agreed i just dont undastand the hype surrounded by this app, its just not worth especially when it does a job of 'ONE CLICK BRICK' software lol.
Why not just launch manually totally agreeable mate. Just wanna spread awareness.

Not sure this is a real cause of brick. Sometimes, yt's necessary to upgrade base FW as part of custom firmware updates.
I've done it in the past without problem

Had it not been for your post, would not have known that there exists a separate ops file for 2.2... I'm also kinda newbie here
So thanks a ton for this valuable info. Will keep that in mind when I downgrade my phone...
Guys my intention was just to warn u. All i can say is ROM MANAGER is the cause for ova 90% of galaxy mini bricks.
The other two however i'm not so sure, neva tried it nor i wanna try it.
btw downgradin with wrong ops or flashin stock rom DOESN'T cause HARD BRICK, but it bricks nevertheless, just google "GALAXY MINI BRICK"
N don't blame me if it didn't brick ya phone lol my job is to warn the newbies, n those who think/are smarter than me they can continue their own thingy

At first: watch your freaking language... Cursing is for in the church.
Second: If you've been so stupid to install the CWM recovery that was created for another device, than you've got what you've deserved. There are so many guides on how to flash recovery on your SGM... So it's kind of your own fault...

Hello everyone,
how are you ??
First of all I have Galaxy Ace Gt-s5830i
with these specifications:
android version 2.3.6
gingerbread.JPLB1
based version: s5830iXXLB1
and of course I had rooted my phone!!
The problem is that I can't install adobe flash player from anywhere !!
I need to your help plz..
Flash player is not meant for ARMv6 devices (HTC Wildfire has flash support though).
You need to install the ported version. It's in themes and appz section. Search a little before posting.
Thank's for reply,
I found the right way to install flash>>
I need to install CWM first and then install flash by using CWM !!

Hi used this method on my Galaxy Ace with Deodexed_DDLA2(XXLA2)_ace(s5830i) rom and it soft bricked it!!! Anyone else tried this with this rom an got it working??
thanks
I'd recommend all s5830i users to trade in for a proper s5830. You'll get a thousand more ROMS and a lot better support.

HI Guys of xda
i've flashed jellyblast V3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1972961
and i've bricked my galaxy mini(this cfw is for y not for mini) it does not turn on
JIG USB can help me?
Download mode?
With JIG USB I should do this... i'm waiting in order to arrive it
now my phone does not nothing is bricked
excuse me for my bad english i'm italian xd
As you've already ordered the jig, you might as well try that first, but if it doesn't work, there is an alternative method.
There are various versions of this method floating around, here on xda as well as other forums. But there's a fairly detailed account here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33811021&postcount=12
All I would add is:
Don't give up easily, and
Get a friend to help - it's almost impossible to keep pressure on three buttons while inserting the battery at the same time.
Good luck :fingers-crossed:
