Hello people, can a mhl adapter made from samsung be used for our devices. I just need a confirmation. I don't want to waste $40+ on a adapter that wouldn't work

i think the MHL should work not the regular HDMI cable. make sure you plug in the power adapter to the cable, before you plug it in to your phone.
Hello xda!
I just want to ask if a MHL HDMI adapter with remote function does work on Xperia Z.
The exact adapter is this one:

I know that it is made for Samsung Galaxy SIII, but how can that be a problem for Xperia Z?
Someone who is more "into this kind of stuff" maybe can tell me more and give me a technically explenation why it should work or not.
Thanks in advance
Trehjulingsleffe.

Check this out this is the original MHL cable from Sony
i think this will work for you... it dose not need any adapters and all waste stuff connect and enjoy with your TV remote itself...

Did your MHL cable work for the M8?
I have a cheap one I got for my Samsung s3, and it has an adapter that goes between the phone and the cable and if I don't use that adapter it works fine. I think the Samsung interface has a switched wire that's why it needs it. So not all cables are the same but if the universal one had a removable adapter it will probably work.

How did you guys got it to work? I bought two different MHL 5pin adapters and none worked. The MHL symbol does appear on the phone but there is no image on the TV. I dont undestand and I am getting desperate, does someone has any tips?
Cheers
A "cheap" MHL cable will probably be MHL 1.0, which won't support 1080p (1080i @ 30Hz max rather than the 1080p @ 60Hz that MHL 2.0 supports)
Most MHL cables are also designed for use with recent Samsung devices, which use a proprietary MHL implementation, which is NOT compatible with non-Samsung devices.
The MHL "standard" is almost totally useless, mostly thanks to Samsung creating this confusion, plus the fact that almost no-one ever categorically states what version of the format (1.0, 2.0 and now 3.0) their devices are.
The new Sony devices support MHL 3.0, if they use a standard implementation then their adapters might be the way to go, assuming they eventually turn up and don't cost an arm and a leg.
Anyone with T-Mobile firmware can please confirm if MHL works?
Contrary to official docs, this phone is mhl compatible. What mhl version does it have?
I have an mhl hdmi adapter working with samsung s2 and an adapter for s3, andthey do not work for ascend p7-l10. What adapter actually works?
Good to knoow

Ive found a message Form Huawei...
Original message:
Thank you for your inquiry. We regret to inform you that the Ascend P7 does not have the MHL function and support accordingly. We regret to be able to make any more encouraging message. Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. Yours sincerely, Huawei Technology Team
Hello guys I'd like to share my experience, I've sold my xperia Z but left MHL adapter.
I've just bought my second Huawei P7 and without any expectation I connected it via HDMI MHL to my HD Toshiba TV and that's it, works straight away, also you need micro usb charger to plug in to mhl adapter and HDMI-HDMI cable to make it works (I used my wife's pink portable charger )
My Huawei P7 is running official kitkat B123 Emotion UI 2.3, no root, no mods at all.
MHL bought from PCWorld store UK £13.99 including 11-pin and 5-pin connector

You can stream through DLNA (P7 and all new phones support it ... evem my old Huawei G700 supports it).
No need to hurry an buy a MHL adapter
Yes, you right but my TV doesn't support DLNA, and wired connection has usually no delays too.
Do you know which version of mhl is supported??
I have a 1.0 mhl cable and it works!

Thanks for also sharing your experiences. What kind of mhl-adapter do you have? Does it have an extern energy supply?
It is a cable with 2 wires: one of them connects to the phone and the other one to an USB power supply (my TV)
