Hey, was it a fresh install or were you upgrading from a previous version?
Also, you would get appropriate reply's by posting on the monxDIFIED & backup thread.

I can tell you with full certainty that this is not related. Making a backup only reads data and does not write it and the restore functionality has enough safeguards in place that a hard-brick is virtually impossible .
However I had the same issue a while ago. I was benchmarking and suddenly the device shutdown, couldnt start it anymore just like you while it had plenty of battery left. Also got the same led blinking and flashing results. Had to send it for repair and I got a new one from Sony. I'm afraid you have to send it for repair as well.

Seems like you have skipped this step, this is a must!
Flash latest Sony's firmware (FTF) matching current latest monxDIFIED base rom using flashtools. Uncheck all WIPE options and exclude all EXCEPT KERNEL & BASEBAND to get latest matched kernel & baseband.

If you don't have stock FTF, try this stripped version, which gets the job done.

Sorry, seems like you have hard bricked your device. Try contacting your local sony support! Also were you able to get in to recovery?
Just use Sony Update Service to restore your phone.

Well, do you have the full package of the 10.3.A.0.423 FTF, try flashing that. Or better wait for some one experienced to help you here.
I am still learning, i can't think of any other possibility!

You don't have the latest version of Flashtool that's mandatory for Xperia Z, I guess that would be the reason that Flashtool doesn't work.

That's not that, you need to shutdown the phone first, then press and stay the volume down and plug the USB cable.
Try to get into fastboot then flash only stock kernel.sin.
I'm unable to flash kernel. I downloaded PC Companion and upgraded my software to 12.0.A.2.254.
I followed like 100 tutorials how to flash kernel but it never works!
Can you guys please explain how to do it. Tutorials here suck, half of them say you need to enable USB debugging and half of them say you don't. I'm really confused.
Here's what I did:
1. Fresh install 12.0.A.2.254.
2. Install Flashtool (0.9.11.0)
3. Click on lightning icon
4. Choose older kernel.
5. Click Flash;
6. Turn off device and connect it in Flashing mode. (Volume down)
7. Flashtool says "Finished".
And then when I want to see what Kernel I am using it stays at 12.0.A.2.254. (No change)
Help please...
Have you installed the adb drivers by any chance from flashtool? Should be in my pc then your hard drive and find the flashtool folder, there should be a driver's folder install those and then repeat the process again

I installed fastboot and flashmode drivers.
I have C5303.
Right then open flashtool click the flashmode option then select your desired kernel ftf, turn the device off and then hold volume down and insert usb, keep holding down for a while till it starts to flash,
i think the kernel version in stock ROM gave an error...
read the report on the flashtool... i think its already flashed...
if not try close the sony companion COMPLETELY then try again
Which tutorial should I follow?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2440375
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405933
1. Should I leave PC Companion on during flashing or shut it down?
2. USB debugging during flashing, on or off?
If you have more tips feel free to post them.

Even within the Q&A.. What happened to searching forums...?
If you are looking for the simple doomlord's exploit - no.
For those those who are willing to downgrade, root and then install its own modified (slightly) system file (Should work for those with locked BL too):

If you would like to try, I suggest you retry to install the drivers.
You'll need to run the installer located within Flashtool install directory. It seems you are currently run Windows. Assuming you did not change the install path, you can find Flashtool in the root of your local hard disk. Navigate to C:\Flashtool\drivers and then execute the installer there in. Tick "Flashmode drivers" and "Fastboot drivers" cause obviously you'll require it. Scroll down a bit and tick "Common drivers for Viskan board". This will install proper flash drivers.

Afterwards for the exclusive driver for your SP (I am assuming you're on stock), Open PC Companion (install it if you don't have it) then connect your Xperia SP with your cable. This will install the drivers for your SP. If you have done this before, you actually already have the drivers installed.
Note that if above methods are well executed by you, you'll find out on the first connect, flashtool will detect the phone partially and somehow later it disconnects. Don't worry, somehow through this process your computer might be installing additional drivers. Retry to connect your Xperia SP.

NOTE! Before you attempt to use Flashtool, make sure adb daemon is killed, and PC Companion (or Sony Update Service) is closed.

With lbl i like slim kat and cm11s but i have lags with cm11
@zenki1
LOL you must turn off the device, hold the volume button, then plug in, in order to successfully connect your device in flashmode or fastboot.

it's easy to create a nandroid backup in case you want to return to the previous condition. Nandroid backup creates a full backup of your device (literally everything, kernel, /boot, /data, /system) for you to restore in some manner of time. Nandroid backup makes it useful when you're looking forward to test a ROM, or just to do some quick jumps through other ROM, without losing anything and saves a lot of time.
Well, it is far more easier to jump across ROM if you find a ROM unsuitable. For instance, AOKP didn't work well for you, you can again reboot to recovery (normally vol + during phone startup), wipe everything, and flash another ROM zip file. Most ROM will include recovery with them so this will not be a problem at all.

Yes. As far as I remember it should be adb.exe or something like that. Sorry, I use Linux as a main OS. And I used Flashtool on windows for like, 8 months ago!
Hello, I'm having trouble doing anything with flashtool, all it does it gives me errors, I'm on windows 10, I installed flashtool-drivers with that 'disable driver signature' method, but I can't get it to work.
As for my phone, things are screwed up too, here is what I used:
Stock -> PAC rom(unlocked BL) -> Stock 10.6.A.0.454 (still unlocked BL it says)
Now I would like to go back to custom ROMs, but flashtool is giving me errors when I try to flash stock firmware, what am I doing wrong?

hmm well i dont see any other solution
PS: You could try un-installing Flashtool and installing it again
I suggest to download flash tool ver. 9.18.6 or lower and install its driver pack fully (not just for XZ) and lock your phone with that version
If it doesn't work ,you need to download emma flasher ( sony official program to flash unlocked xperia's and some software repair )
if yor phone got locked you can use pc companion to flash your phone with latest official rom
(Emma tool is filtered for some countries so Iran and north Korea )
