Not unless you backed up your data or did a nandroid back up. If you didn't, all your data is lost.

Here's a list of commands. I imagine you could push a rom over or try installing a rom via a USB drive. I pretty sure you're far from bricked. Make sure you flash the RIGHT one too. Don't go flashing versions that are not made for your phone

i would use the all in one toolkit.
first: erase cache
second: flash recovery
third: adb sideload
you need to be in bootloader and it should say fastboot usb at the top if it doesnt then press power button once.
if you are having trouble with adb you might have to reinstall the drivers. that can be done with the toolkit also

[Q] Corrupt Data Partition

Hi
I just tried flashing ARHD 20.2 coming from rooted stock 4.1.2 via CWM touch. The rom won't install, halfway through the phone just re-starts. Also whenever I try a factory wipe or data re-format from cwm my phone re-starts immediately. So I have recovery but I can't flash a new ROM.
Have I corrupted my data partition somehow? Is there a way around this? Maybe via a new recovery or kernel? My searches on xda haven't come up with much. Any ideas? Thanks.

HI, thanks for the advice although I don't understand what you want me to do. I guessed you might have meant try going back to stock which I just tried but that didn't work. I do not seem to be able to flash any ROM.
I can enter in and out of CWM recovery but that is it. My phone is formatted and wiped (excepting my suspect data partition???). So I am doing all flashing etc by adb and fastboot.
I tried a TRWP flash over the top of CWM but it only briefly flashes the twrp logo and then restarts the phone, so I have gone back to CWM which at least works.
In my CWM log I see this
I: Can't partition non-vfat: datamedia
I: Can't format unknown volume: /emmc
Any attempt to format data still just restarts the phone.

to add more info to my situation: if I choose the wipe data option in the install of ARHD 20.2 the phone immediately restarts on the commencement of the installation.
If I don't choose the wipe data option the installation seems to fail when it has finished unpacking.

[Q] Easiest way to unencrypt?

Hello, I am running a kernel that doesn't force encryption, with CM12. What's an easy way to keep all of my data, and then take off the encryption? Simple question, need a simple answer. Will give thanks.
I don't necessarily need to keep my stuff, just back it up and restore it.

For me the quickest way is to flash a kernel that doesn't force encryption and format the data partition from recovery.,
OK, now what is the quickest way to get that data back immediately after I am done?

Back it up and restore it via USB OTG. It works perfectly from recovery and maintains the correct permissions. You can also do the same with your nandroid.
I don't have a USB OTG cable. But can I just back the whole system how it is via Nandroid, then restore it back just with no encryption afterwords?

Flashing kernel is the easiest way to get rid of force encryption and flashing kernel doesn't wipe date. Then why are you even worried about loosing data?

no because when you format data/internal storage both need to be formatted to unencrypt and when you do this it will delete your backup you need to backup to an external device.
Alright, so I guess I'll backup to my PC with Nexus toolkit before I format data.

EDIT:also be my 100th THANKS!!!!!

Tried to flash update on wife's phone and it bootlooped. Am I screwed?

I have no clue what happened. Everything worked fine on my 3T, but when I tried flashing the rom on my wife's phone, it hung at boot screen for one hour.
I ended up rebooting it as the phone got really hot. I had made a TWRP backup for her but now when I go into recovery it asks for a password.
It says Encrpytion unsuccessful and I cannot access the TWRP backup folder anymore. I cannot mount the data partition my my computer anymore.
Is there anyway I can get her TWRP backup back? Through adb or fastboot commands?
Can you erase back up through and and flash it again using ADB? Not sure if that'll help

I had to factory reset and even though it said internal storage would not be deleted, it got deleted....
Is there anyway I can recover the Win and MD5 files for the backup? Does anyone know?

Factory reset will wipe everything. Its a format. The boot loop was likely from using an older TWRP. You can restore the backups and extract from them, or you can with Linux.
Next time, don't wipe, just make sure you have latest TWRP (3.1.0) and then flash stock ROM to recover. Then when the coast is clear, start again

As a sidenote, I would advise that you make TWRP backups directly to a USB flash drive through USB OTG. It is a little bit of a hassle, but it ensures that you always have a backup on hand in the event that something like this happens. TWRP is able to save and restore nandroids directly to and from flash drives, this also saves space on your phone.

Sadly none of that worked, and I was running the latest twrp.
Something happened to the rom itself being installed and the encryption process.
Definitely going to just write a backup to a OTG flash drive next time.

off system backup is the way to go, otherwise its not much of a backup. You can also use ADB or MTP to transfer to another system.
Did the md5 match on the download?
