Low system sound , temporary fix - Nexus 5 General

For those who can hardly hear the system touch , screen lock/unlock & keyboard clicks due to the Android bug, i have replaced the system sound files with other files from the LG G2. This does increase the volume and now can be heard.
I've made a CWM flashable zip. You need to be rooted.

any details what is that Android bug you mentioned concerning low sound? thanks

That application has a ton of bad reviews
install "Equalizer". Since it loads into system it boost the overall volume to almost double. Tried and Tested, works like a charm.

[Q] Low audio in calls with CyanogenMod

I installed the CyanogenMod by Maclaw - " Jellybean 4.2.2 (CyanogenMod 10.1) 20130826 "
The audio has changed somewhat now for me. I've noticed that for some individuals the audio is so low it's hard to hear what they say if there is any ambient noise. However, this is only for some of them. For instance, when I talk to my brother in law I can hear without a problem.
Still, overall the audio has dropped, for some contacts quite significantly. And I do have maxed the audio, checked what settings I can think of too.
Is this fixable in some way? Can't find anyone with this problem that got it fixed
Sincerly,

Thanks you SO very much for that link! :good: It changed for those that was too low, but the ones that had a decent volume level was kept at that. So now I can once again hear what they say!
Well, this just sucks. It didn't change anything at all. It turned out to be only in-calls that had low volume, and it still does.
Also, noticed today that when I make a call and the audio is good, and then turn on loudspeaker it goes really low. Quite annoying..

i would recommend that next time you spend a bit more time reading up on posts before using a ROM
you should possibly considering moving to one of the stock based custom ROM's

stock base custom rom aren't anyting like cyanogenmod. they are buggy, each developer changes the look of it the way he likes it. i don't like most of them. i know what i say. tryed all of them. used Dmod V5 a while, and then it totally fu...ed it up in last version.
i got used to the problem. waiting for a fix from maclaw or oliver.

Lollipop broke the Audio?

Updated to Lollipop yesterday. Of course I'm using Sony's official update and not CM12. So yeah I didn't bother to.watch any videos or listen to music because I updated my phone very late at night. But today, I realised the Audio seems broken. How is it broken? Well, I play a YouTube video at max volume. Seems fine but a little soft for being at max. As soon as I drag it down just a bit, it's like impossible to hear anything. When it reaches half volume, it feels like the minumum volume and the minimum volume feels like it's muted. Anyone have the same problem?
Tl;dr: Can't hear jack **** on near max volume

Seems like many people are facing the same issue based on a thread on the General section.

I've reflashed multiple region ftfs. Still the same. Many people are having this problem. Maybe you just don't notice the low volume

Umm, nope, I can notice cause I consume a lot of media on my phone.
Weird thing is, bluetooth is weird. I use it in my car, and in KK, when I made a call, it'd change to the phone audio on its own. Now it stays on bluetooth audio until the call connects and then switches to the phone audio mode. This was the case even with AOSP 5.0 ROMs :/ it's weirdly inconvenient cause if I'm using the aux, I won't know if the call is about to be connected, cause I can't hear the ringtone on the call :|
I'm using locked rooted Kitkat,
updated via Sony PC Companion without wiping anything
after the updating to lollipop, it charges so slow, even when it's turned off
I used all the chargers here.
I'm planning to go back to kitkat without losing any app data.
I have no recovery and not rooted in lollipop. What can I do?
sound is definitely broken, because xloud is missing, clearaudio+ isnt working neither.

sound problems

Does anyone know the default system sound settings? I'm currently using viper 4 Android because it's the default sound system for the rom I use (chimera) I have the unlocked USA snapdragon version but there is a distinct noticable difference between the way stock sounds and the way it sounds with this rom the phone overall is extremely louder now which is a good thing but when I am listening to music it's a lot quieter and if I turn it up it becomes extremely distorted and hard to understand and it's very I guess trebley and no matter what I do I can't increase the bass to it, I can't describe it it just sounds horrible
Sounds like an issue with the customOS that you have installed on your device

It should. As Custom OSes do not have the best performance when compared to the android OEM's stock OS.

Sound mod for non rooted devices on Android 10

Hello all,is there anyone that has or is working ona sound mod for devices that are not rooted on Android 10? I am asking becaure to me,the sound level has dropped on Android 10 compared to Pie. I am not sure if it is just my device or if there are others who are experiencing this.
My device seems to have a lower max level on Android 10 than it had on Pie. Is anyone working on a way to fix this for devices running Android 10 without root ,or does someone already have a fix for this?
I have made a mod that only increases headphones volume on android 10 but it requires magisk and I don't think you can actually raise the output without root because they are limited by configuration
I have the same issue too. When I send audios the volume is really low. I told it to Sony through the assistance chat and they told me that an update would have fixed it. The update arrived yesterday, but the problem hasn't been fixed... I think tomorrow I will write again to them

I'm sure he meant audio output not recordings through the microphones on the phone but yes, need to wait for an update to fix it but the other case is not a bug it is a choice made by Sony to make their xperia audio output weak because they have walkman for that
