Just thought I'd let you guys know that Google have released factory images of an updated 4.4 build (KRT16S). No idea yet as to what is different in this build but hopefully it fixes some bugs people may be facing or even have the GE launcher included this time.

Or is that now just with the updated image?

Just trying to see if anything was added is all.. hah
Don't see anything different yet, and I wasn't experiencing any issues prior to this that I was aware of either, so time will tell
There is a slight change with the kernel version and it shows a more recent date below it. So maybe some change in the kernel.

If it's just APN settings changes, then I'm curious as to why my WiFi Nexus 7 2012 just got the OTA? Must be something more to it than just APNs, or I can't see why Google would bother updating their wireless Nexus devices...

Yup. This was ported from the One. So expected to not work. But shouldn't be difficult to fix that.
Thanks a lot for what all of you did to getting MIUI on the Xperia Z !
I will be following this thread to give you feedback.
On the other thread, i mentioned my data network didn't work, forget that. I check my access point and it work perfectly now.
But i was really surprised when i wanted to go to my clockworkmod and i saw a "Teamwin mod"-thing... It's not very kind to do some thing we didn't want...
Somebody have a *.zip to get back my old clockworkmod ? Thanks
The MIUI V5 Rom work very well. Unfortunately, there is the SD Card problem who cause a lot of ForceClose. But i'm sure you will get it work.
Keep the good work guys !
PS: Sorry for my bad english speaking, i'm french.

The storage maybe the services.jar problem.
In services.jar.out\smali\com\android\server the all filename start with MountService
I think we need patch some code from yuga

Hey Everyone,
The factory images for KRT16O for both the WiFi-only (nakasi) and 3G (nakasig) variants have been silently updated. I've run compares on the system image files between the old and newly updated factory images and they're definitely different. If you already downloaded and flashed the old KRT16O factory images, I'd recommend downloading the new ones and flashing them.
Thought you all might like to know.

Upon further inspection it looks like the only differences between the old and new KRT16O images is the names of the radio and bootloader files. In the old package, they were named wrong but we're still the right actual versions of the files. In the new package, the names have been corrected. So if you flashed before yesterday, you should be fine.

There are no OTA ZIP files for KRT16S from JWR66Y yet. I'm checking.
I'm in the process of going back to 4.3, google maps 7x (I think) is one issue with the new os. I don't like the new maps and had to revert back to the original after updating. Now the 4.4 sets the new maps as the image so there is no going back easily. Using the Toolkit for Nexus 7 on my Nexus 7.
I've just built AOSP from master branch.
The most interesting thing is the optimized ART runtime. It's enabled by default and works with much more apps now.
I didn't try it on N4 yet, but on a similar device which basically is hardware compatible.

basically it's a mix between 4.4.3 and 4.5.
Google pushes core changes to master branch and hobby devs can use gerrit to merge changes into that branch.
The new features and UI changes are still closed source until google releases a new android update.

I use notepad plus plus and edit the flash all batch file look towards the bottom where it has - W and delete the - W and save. When you use flash on to flash everything it will install the update but you will not lose any of your SD data such as photos taken anything in your download folder. Or if you want to go the manual route you can extract the update to where you have the boot and recovery and system images and you can manually flash those in bootloader mode. Also just an FYI if anyone flashes the update and they're on a 32 gig model but they notice that they only have 11 gigabytes available you need to go into the stock recovery and do a full wipe factory reset to fix the problem.
And it brings back the memory leak bug... well done, google

Your system eats through the ram and doesn't release it.
Soon (after 4 days or so) your free ram will be so low, that there will be no cached apps in background. Everything you open, will start from zero.
Check how long you've been running since last reboot (uptime) and how much system is using from ram memory.
It shouldn't be over 450mb overall

i guess he means a flashable zip with newest radio & bootloader without full wipe, not the complete 500 MB zip.
After update it shows security update level 5th Oct. What about you guys?

I guess every OTA already includes that. Image and OTA includes same files and Flashing OTA doesnt wipe any data.

Another User also reported that on Google+. This clearly needs some clarification from Google As they have clearly written Dec 2016 with the links on their website.
Hello. Same here, security update level, October 5th. I used FlashFire and the factory image for the update.
If they fixed the goddamned System UI memory leak, I'll be glad.

May be this time they have just updated binaries, drivers and patches.
Only Google can tell why they have written Dec to this update when it is not updating to Dec security patch.

There's a thread where you can find flashable zips of factory images

This broke my heart :crying:
I don't experience any memory leak since ages ago.
FYI bootloader has been upgraded to version hhz20h

Sure about that?
Go to settings > memory > memory used by apps
Check the "System UI" values for average and max.
Don't reboot your phone and check again in a few days. See if it increased.

Yes, I know about that. But it doesn't affect me, slow downs, crashes etc.

It will, if you don't reboot within 10 days or so.
Your apps will suddenly be kicked from RAM, and boy, is that annoying...
Last time it happened to me, I was throwing a party at home and playing music through my phone. As soon as I opened Gmail to check something, Spotify was killed and the music stopped. Talk about an inconvenience...
