Hi Geeks,
I am having limited knowledge in phone OS and computers, I downloaded the Rooting files from Designgears but when I run the oneclick.exe file it fails. Is that still the same process to root, I am not exactly getting what process should I follow to root my AT&T Note 3, I have rooted Note 2 before but that was really eary, this looks like to many things to do before rooting and that to it doesn't work. Appreciate if one of you can help me and provide me the best link to download proper root softwares and procedure. Thank you.
Regards,
Rankitt

Did you follow all the steps as listed? By any chance did your phone take the recent update from AT&T? If it did, the the RDLV method won't work to root your phone.

Others have claimed to be able to root the new update with Kingo. You can give that a shot but proceed with caution, as there have been concerns about it's security. Read twice and root once basically :good:

I STRONGLY advise you not to go with that method there. I've tried it and bricked my phone (so have many others, apparently). There's a link on the first post about an updated method, which I didn't try, look for comments about that. But definitely don't try the original method, the only way to unbrick my phone was by JTAG, which was the last method before sending it to service.
Cheers!
I decided to pay £12.85 to Sammobile, and it was fairly easy as they gave me the code to unlock it, and was risk free as well.
thank you for helping me

I gave this phone away, didn't work with Rogers here so I tried the updated method. It worked. Just a heads up to anyone who finds this.
I used this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1296133 and was able to unlock my phone on O2.
Try this.
No bricks after using this method so far!

What is the model number of your phone?
Mine is the N900A, which is not the model that is supported on the Kingo website.
They say it works on N9006.
I just want to make sure that it's the AT&T one that this works on.
Thanks!

Kingo may send your IMEI somewhere - and also some people have felt they don't get as good battery life after rooting with kingo. A safer way if you don't want to risk your information getting sent out is evilpotatoman's way.
But it is more work than just using kingo

The TOS that you have to agree to to install Kingo states that they send no data of any kind from your PC or Your phone. So if they do send your IEMI somewhere which does not really matter anyways since your IEMI is plastered on every cell tower you have ever connected to they would be in violation of their own TOS and could be sued.
Hi, I was told to post my question here. I bought my Note 3 with AT&T but switched to T-mobile with sim unlock. The device runs fine. My device is currently running N900A....NC2 (4.4.2). It is rooted, however not much has been done after rooting. I'm able to download OTA update. However, the installation fails after 25%. It is unclear if it is because I'm no longer with AT&T or is it because my device is rooted. I tried calling T-mobile but didn't get much help from them. What are my options at this point? I'm pretty new at this so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Your update fails because you were rooted. You'll need to Odin back to stock NC2 before you can take the OTA. Everything you need to accomplish what you're trying to do is located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703006.
The NC2 files are near the bottom of the first post.

Yes it is very easy to root the Note 4 with CF-AutoRoot. Here is a great guide by @TEKHD you can follow.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n910tuvu1anih-cf-t2903733
You can also look at this guide by @jovy23 and he has all the files you need in one zip.

If all you care about it rooting the phone, just follow the guides up to that point. Good Luck!

Not a problem, take your time the first time and follow the instructions exactly. Once you have done it once, you should get it and it is a breeze after that.

Have you tried rooting your Note 4 with these instructions? I've tried another file but it didn't work. If you did, were there any problems ? Thanks

I did it this way and it worked perfectly. Had a little mishap though trying to download twrp through pay stpore instead of flashing. But, everything works now
Could you help me? I flashed a stock lollipop rom via odin and it worked flawlessly. I now would like to reroot my device. I downloaded all the correct files and when I go to flash the tar file via Odin I get an error, "security check fail: recovery". It won't flash but luckily didn't brick my device. I've tried plenty of time to no avail

Go to settings - security - reactivation unlock (uncheck it). Try flashing again, you should be good to go.
