Is there any way to download applications from the android marketplace to my desktop PC without using the G1 as the downloading device?
Any software/websites out there that facilitate direct downloads to the PC?
Anyone know how its done? Downloaded quickoffice, connected HTC to usb, selected mount. I seem to be able to transfer to sd card, but cant see them on the phone.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

Apps Installer
1) Install Apps Installer (from Market)
2) On your computer, download the apk of the application you want to install
3) Connect your phone to the PC and mount the SDCard
4) Put the .apk at the root of SDCard
5) Run Apps Installer from your telephone
install "ES File Explorer" from market (free)
search for your package and click it.
"ES File Explorer" chooses software is needed for application
@be0ne
@restecool
There must be some faulty information since I wasn't able to find both...
EDIT:
ok. it must be searched as "appsinstaller".
this is cool!
I'm using the "ES File Explorer"
Now...I need a .apk file to test that out

Why don’t you have internet or mobile data signal? Solve that problem first.

If I understand you correctly, you want to install the apps you have using file explorer and you don't have internet on your mobile for downloading and installing the fire explorer, right?
If so, you can download the file explorer apk to your computer and install it by connecting your phone via USB and using ADB
Connect your phone to your computer, make sure you have Android SDK and USB driver installed properly on your computer and have USB Debugging turned on in Settings-> Application Settings-> Development.
Then use this guide:

to install your APK files to /data/app or /system/app directories.
I found a program that lets you download all the free applications in the Windows Marketplace as xap files. Go to this and download the program. http://www.addictivetips.com/?attachment_id=46003

i do select all contacts and send via bluetooth to pc .
i think .. it saved with .vcr at pc ..
i dont remember exactly, but
i think the KIESS make tha for you without app's of market,
phone list is sure that kiess make backup, so try it
Kies cannot take a backup of SMS!
u can use myphoneexplorer for complete backup including installed softwares to apk's
Titanium Backup creates backup for sms in the form of xml. You can copy that xml file to ur pc and open it with notepad++
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
sms backup + can copy your messages to gmail. Or sms backup & restore can save messages in xml file. They are both free.
