Can anyone advise if they have got BT Sport or Sky Go streaming from tablets/PC's through Chromecast?
Nope
I've just got mine today buddy - sky go works if you use the chrome extension on your PC/Laptop.
But... no sound will come out as Chromecast doesn't support silverlight. I hope it did also.

Ok, what's the best "free" way to watch TV over Wi-Fi or even 3G? Can I use a website or is there some good software. Found some but wanted to know what's the most popular.
Thanks.
www.wwitv.com
That wont work with PIE.

That's a shame, works fine here.
Dave,
Which TV channel is working? all of them?
I tried several and got blank white screen everytime.
It looks the web browser cannot execute the JavaScript ...
I use PIE with PIE Plus installed via 3G connection
Anyone can test this?
So far all the UK ones work and a couple of the USA too. Haven't tried any of the foriegn languague stations. I get the white screen too sometimes, but it goes when I restart it awhile later.
Strange ... I got white screen everytime, no matter how long I wait ... then refresh.
You meant restart = refresh, right?
I tried so far all UK "News (Live)" channels.
BBC News 24 Live
Narrowband: http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsa/n5ctrl/tvseq/n24/nb/wm/video/news24_nb.asx
Broadband:

The broadband feed works great over 3g as well as wifi in full screen.
A great way to watch YOUR TV and DVR if you have one is to use SlingBox. It works great on Kaiser.
how can i save mms file to my windows media player or??
I use MobiTV. Its not "real" tv, but it has some good stuff
Orb and Logmein.
I use Orb which is free.
But then you need a Windows Media centre that stays on line.
With the (also, I am cheap) free Logmein I can give programming instructions and record things.
And of course I have a webcam connected, to look at the see where I live.
In Casablanca it helped me very much. From the hotelroom looking at "een vandaag" or the news, instead of all those Arab ( with respect btw) programs I do not understand

A good one is the Dutch www.streamingpda.nl with lots of English spoken chanels gif it a try.. BTW it is for free
Doesn't get any better than Slingbox. Sling is king when it comes to streaming live TV and watching your DVR on your mobile.

Absolutely, but ( God only knows why) not available in most European countries. Like in my beloved Holland)

Am using the Sony Locationfree, unfortunatly it's not available yet for phones only the PSP. Fingers crossed something comes out soon.
But you can import it from UK, right?
I dont see any reason it cannot be used in the Netherlands ... but ...
PS: I plan to buy Slingbox as well and I live in the Netherlands

Orb is much better than slingbox - and free! (Well, if you have a PC with a TV card lying around like I do)
http://www.orb.com
Ehhh... I wouldn't say Orb isn't "better" than Slingbox. If you have a TV tuner card, and tons of memory space on your desktop at home, and you don't mind leaving your computer on at all times, and you don't mind waiting quite a while (15 minutes sometimes) to restart a stream once you have paused it-- then yeah Orb could work for you. Personally, I found Orb pretty inferior compared to Slingbox. Sling is a one-time fee for the hardware box, a one-time fee for the software you put on your mobile, then it's completely free. Worth every penny in my opinion.
im not sure whats goin on with mine but i can open the streams just fine - i can get sound but no video - the player goes fullscreen and everything, but it just displays a black screen - it does this on the standard windows pocket media player web portal videos too - any ideas?
So back in high school I used setup a simple HTTP server that allowed me to browse my music on the schools computers and play it there through VLC player. I figure since I have 160GB of music (way more than I can fit on my phone) I could probably do the same thing, but the problem I'm facing is what app would I use to browse the music?
Any ideas on how I could do this? Over the 3G network it should be ok, at least no worse than pandora and I would have access to all of my music.
Have a look at orb.. you can set it up to stream your entire media library to your device (even videos). It will auto-encode to a supported format and adapt the bit rate to your network speed. It's pretty sexual.

go get GMote, best app I've seen yet, works over wifi and 3G/Edge.
Another one for gmote.
Yet another vote for gmote here.
Gmote does not auto convert and will not play .avi. I use it exclusively for music, but I have never been able to get the video to play on my phone.

I saw that. I was responding to the post about Orb. My music works flawlessly on gmote whether I am using wifi or 3g. I definitely give it 3 thumbs up.
So I got myself the Chromecast . Was really looking forward . Have a kickass connection so thought I wouldn't suffer from any problems with the connection.
Anyways. Besides Plex which works great but I never feel that Plex looks very sharp on my tv. I tried Tversity, BubbleUpnp , all Cast and Popcorn time from my PC . All of them gave no video and a squeaky sound . That's all. It clearly looks like there is a connection problem. But as Plex works fine it shouldn't be. And streaming whatever to my xbox360 works fine too.
Anyhow in Bubble I enabled Video encoding Ultra fast and I got good video quality casting local video via Tversity. Yet Tversity itself not.
One thing I looked forward to was using Popcorn Time. But nothing happends. No video and the sound that a cassette tape got stuck in the machine ( for whomever remembers that ).
Should I enable something in windows for the video to work ??
If I can;t fix it I will sell my CC sadly.
If anyone can help me ??
Your Internet connection speed doesn't matter so much as Chromcast's connection speed to your router.
Use the included HDMI extender or a longer one if you have one and move Chromecast away from your television. Remember that is only has 2.4 GHz WiFi, so it is subject to interference from nearby cordless phones, microwave ovens, etc.
So I got to thinking, I have the Samsung screen mirroring HDMI dongle on my home theater setup. I turned it on , mirrored the screen and put my Note in the headset. It then shows up on my 10 foot screen and I set my projector to 3d side by side and it works great. You can now have one person with the headset on doing stuff and everyone else can watch it on the big screen in 3d also
That's awesome! Wish I had the TV setup to do it. How's is a big projection screen in 3D?
Its decent mirroring quality on my 10 foot screen and in 3d just like the headset. It works great for when you have a first timer over trying it out cause you can watch what they are doing in real time, and guide them how to swipe and click on stuff or show them how to get thru the menu to try all the stuff. I have a Vivtek 3d projector that will put also put side by side image imput back together in 3d.

Can you point me to what you're exactly using? Is it this?
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-All-S...reen+mirroring+HDMI+dongle&pebp=1418645351921
Thats it. Used 50% off coupon on Samsung's site last year for it
Chromecast works too - but makes the headset stutter in the photo 360 app is vr fluid while using the allshare dongle?

stupid question time....does the mirror show as 1 image, or 2 of the same images side by side (as in 1 for each eye)?

Ive been using chrome cast just to cast the audio since the video freezes. its a simple way to feel more immersed in the VR when the headset is on. Its not perfect but it works.
I have the same exact issue. Both my Roku 3 mirroring and my Netgear ptv will not stream smoothly. It looks choppy and terrible. Does the Samsung AllShare Hub solve this problem? Does anyone know?

On Youtube, type in the search for "Gear VR / Chromecast / Screen Mirror"
It shows how to enable developer mode and an additional window to broadcast the phone screen on the Chromecast. This should work for all dongle

Thanks I found the video. It's not in English but I figured it out. Activate the dev option "Simulate secondary displays" I chose 720x480dpi secure. Now the cast doesn't lag much at all and it is easy to follow by anyone watching the TV. I read some people have projectors that can do sbs screen and cast the vrs view perfectly.
So i wanna cast my pc games locally to a tv in my house for others in my house to watch. ( not trying to game from the stream directly, as i know there will be a lag ) via chromecast but not waste my metered bandwidth by having to stream out to twitch and back to the TV. I know casting the whole desktop is not an option as the playback is super choppy and just not really functional . I came across a site the explains how to do this :http://www.davidandersen.us/uncategorized/stream-video-game-chromecast/#comment-9 but i just cant seem to get this to work. My experience with nginx is none existent. I wonder if someone else has come up with a simpler method . Ideally instead of using OBE , it would be nice to use the shadowplay ( or what ever Nvidia is calling it now ) to stream out directly to one of my chromecasts.
Any suggestions..?
