[Q] Can't connect camera

Hi,
Today i noticed a problem on my SGS. I tried to use camera and i tried several times but every time try to use camera, same message appears on screen

Hey come on! Some one please help with this! I just want to know is it hardware fault or due to rom.

Arent you using semaphore x.x.xS version which is dedicated for hugemem config eg. slimroms?

Just normal, not s version

Two option
1. Try clearing gallery app data from settings->app
2. If the above dont work then go to recovery wipe cache wipe dalvik and fix permissions.
It will work...

The problem could be for many reasons - hw or sw.
What change did you make before it stopped working?
If above recommendations don't work:
1) Turn off your phone, take the battery out, and wait for a few seconds, then put it back in and turn it back on -- May fix simple hw glitches
2) Try another camera app, such as fxcamera, camera 360, etc -- To see if its the default camera app
3) Do you have other apps that use the camera? Like mirror or flashlight apps or something? It might be interfearing. Actually it could be other apps interfearing too. I'd make a back-up and start uninstalling suspicious apps.
4) Go back to stock rom, and see if camera works. If yes, then root and re-install custom rom. If no, then take to a repair store? Can't think of anything else.

Just curious, what was the issue and how did you fix it?

I don't know what was the issue but i rebooted my phone because it was a bit laggy
and i noticed that the camera works.

[Need Help] installing Ativ Camera on Ativ S

hi guys . I tried and searched many times to find a way install Ativ camera and make it run on my ativ s but I didn't find any way to do that .
Now I have an unencrypted appx file of ATIV Camera and hope to find a way of installing this using this unencrypted file (downloaded from the store )
any of you guys have any idea about how to modify this to make it run ? or what registry tweeks we need to do that ?

When I installed it this app didn't work. It showed picture from camera but couldn't take a pic (button did nothing). App was looking like a prototype. It was several months ago.

i dubt about prototype . because 10MB is a little large for a prototype

So it needs a driver maybe.
If it works on Ativ SE i interested in running in to drivers on this phone

Weird, the ATIV Camera app is still available for download from the Microsoft Store, but other Samsung apps like RSS Times, Photogram and Artistic Effect are not.

It works with no issues on mine. I use it as my primary camera app on my fone

First of all, thank you very much for your reply.
I downloaded and installed the link you posted.
Im running Chroma 6.0.1 Build number MMB29M.
I wiped system, data, cache, dalvik cache, and installed the build + rom + gapps (Dynamic gapps in the chroma thread).
then when i was done, i installed the M9 port you posted, it installed everything successfuly.
Thing is, when im trying to start the camera, it just crashes. "unfortunately, camera has stopped."

The FV-5 is just bad compared to the HTC cam app, why doesn't it work

Im having the "unfortunately, camera has stopped." Issue as well. So maybe the newest one doesnt work? Thanks anyways

NEW ERROR (Unfortunately, Exchange Services has stopped)

Hi everybody. I've rooted my phone today and I deleted some of system app. After deleting some system apps, my phone is not running good. I backup(ed) some of apps but still my phone is not running well.
Note: Whatsapp etc.. is working fine.

EDIT: I flashed my phone. Phone is working well now. Thanks

I think you deleted related to google playstore and youtube.So flash the new firmware to work with and than download any custom rom that is already debloated or search which file you can delete and which cant.It will be pain for the first to see which file is useable and which not but for the next time you already know which to delete.

Thanks for the answer. I have BL . is that problem for the firmware? And i can't open chrome browser too.(so not for only youtube,gp)
Any different way to solve this problem without reset my phone? I have game scores

did you delete google play services? if yes go here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/ download and install
PS: Be carefull which one you install, before you download check the version. You want one with the android version you have

MAZE ALPHA update V09_20180117_20180117-1052

I have a maze alpha which got this update, when it tries to install the update, it gives the android error before even getting to the installation screen ( in recovery mode), no matter what I do it just does this with the update, the phone is the 4GB MODEL it is not routed, and it has the stock ROM, when it does the error it doesn't brick, you just have to hold the power button to turn it off and then it starts up normally.

I haven't received this update yet. I still in the V08... Did you receive an OTA Update or did you find the Firmware in somewhere else?

I got this as an OTA update, I am in the UK, they may not have released it in other regions.

I'll try to update later. Need to flash stock recovery again first.

It's the one I used on my 4G Maze Alpha. I was rooted with Magisk and it installed fine anyway. I just had to re-root after it was done.

thanks for that it now works, it is annoying we had go to this much effort in order to update our phones, also you are aware you can root your phone in the developer options on your phone.

Hmm no, I don't seem to have that option.

my mistake, i am pretty sure i saw the option in a previous version right underneath the OEM unlocking option in dev - options but it does not appear to be available in this version.

Can't get this update to install. Get the error every time. Hope did you install it?

How have you managed to root your Maze Alpha? I am guessing it is a 64GB/4GB version?
