First thing first, I'm on2.6.3.3 twrp, latest sd rom, 3,62 firmware and recently there are just something wouldn't flash and just simply shows error when I try. Like the new supersu binary update and tripdroid4,4. I'm sure it's not bad download. And it flashes everything else fine, anyone can point me to the right direction? Thanks

First: NO one will help you when asking this kind of question! Then the title of this thread... That title doesn't say us anything! Then you write that you get an error.. but you don't tell us what kind of error.. what does the recovery say.. which ROM exactly? 3.62 doesn't say a lot.. We have to look it up.. Then pls also mention wheter you are s on or s off and so on...
If you can answer these questions, I'll be willing to help otherwise I CANNOT and I also don't want to

Hi..
I decided to make an "EASY TO USE" unroot guide for the HTC Legend..
Here goes..
First..
If you want to unroot to software version 1.31
... download this file and put it in the root of your SD-card..
- This version can easily be rooted again..
If you want to unroot to software version 2.03
... download this file and put it in the root of your SD-card..
- This version will need a downgrade in order to root phone again..
When the wanted file is on your SD-card turn OFF your phone..
EDIT: *** NB: Reported in that this might not work if SD-card is partitioned with ext-partition. If not working try to use a fat32-only ***
Turn the phone ON while holding VOLUME DOWN..
The phone will detect the LEGEIMG.zip file on the SD-card and
ask you to upgrade..
Select YES.. And wait...
This should do the trick....
Nice and simple. Good work m8.
Good guide. Straight to the point. Keep up the good work.
Is there any way to. Convert the rom. Zip with the ruu to legeimg. Zip
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
Yep... extract ROM.zip from RUU and rename it to LEGEIMG.zip.
Hello,
I'm not familiar yet with rooting.
When this procedure is done, will I have a working Legend device ?
Which rom will it be running ?
How could I "upload" CyanogenMod to this rooted legend ?
I've search the web, but I do not get everything yet...
Thank you for your hep !
Yannick
Thanks for the guide, but it doesn't work for me.
"No image or wrong name!" message appears.
I've tried your first link and my own rom.zip renamed to LEGEIMG.zip .

Something had gone wrong, wipe wasn't working and it kept rebooting so I was forced to... once CM 6.1 Stable releases, I'll root it again.

The point is if you have to return it under warranty.
Can someone help me with this? I keep getting an error. I can't flash the LEGEIMG.zip by reboot & vol dn+power nor by clockwork. Tried downloading the file twice, tried my extracted rom.zip and it just doesn't work.
What else can I do?
Can you post md5 of this zip?
What I did was put the file in the root of the SD Card...
Switch off the Legend and switch it on while having the Volume down button pressed. It flashes automatically.

You honestly believe that there are psychics reading these forums?
What error? Does this error have a name? Does it have a description? Or does it just say:
ERROR
...over the entire screen?
Dammit guys, learn to post some useful information!!! If it ain't working, there's definitely a reason don't you think???
Nice work mate, i gott bored, so i tested your guide, worked like a charm
now it's, back to rooting the phone again

Sorry, I wrote about it on the previous page. This message was kind of stupid bump.
Love you too.
It says 'error' tho, before error messages, so you're right. In green tho.
Something like 'Wrong image!', 'Can't find image'. All about LEGEIMG.zip . It dissapears fast.

One of two problems..
1) You did not put the download in the ROOT of your sd- card or
2) you have renamed the file..
One of these things are causing the error..
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
I'm 100% sure I haven't renamed the file and it's in the root (astro file manager shows it in /mnt/sdcard). If ROOT means sdcard top folder then there it is.
edit: clockwork says "Can't open /sdcard/LEGEIMG.zip (bad)". Hence the request for md5 - but I doubt triple download would cause some inconsistency in file.
I got CID incorect error, what does it mean?
Hi!
Today I bought a brand new HTC One (not locked to any carrier) and I wanted to install ViperROM. I did probably something stupid, because I bricked the phone and I have no idea how to fix it (please note that this is my first Android, I was an iPhone user so far).
After following a guide how to root my device tried to install the latest viperROM and put it in the "download"-Folder on the device (I guess this was my mistake). When I tried to install the ROM in TWRP (version v2.6.0.1) the installation got stock with "Flashing Kernel". After waiting for 10 minutes or something I rebooted using "adb.exe" and tried it again (this time putting the ROM on an USB-stick and using an OTG-cable). This time the flashing ends up with:
Code:
Done!
Unable to mount '/cache'
Unable to mount '/system'
When I try to restart TWRP warns me that I have no OS installed. Normal booting gets stuck on the white HTC-screen.
I'm totally desperate. :crying:
Is there anything I can do to save my new device?
Greetings
MJFox
Your just soft bricked..there's so many threads on this I want to throw up
I know that I'm probably a pain in the ass, but I was not able to find a solution for my problem yet using the search
maybe you can point me to the right direction?
greetings

So you come charging in here using a new phone and OS (so basicaly fullly clueless) and start modifying stuff and now you`re surprised somethng went wrong.
Well, try installing a rom with adb sideload in TWRP.

since I'm usually not an idiot with those things and I followed the guide I'm quite surprised that something went wrong
anyway, thank you for the sideload-hint, but it didn't help, the ROM got transfered to /data/media/sideload.zip and the flashing process starts after that but ends after several minutes with the same "Unable to mount"-error as before :crying:
in the mount-menu, which entries need to be checked before starting the flashing?
any further help would be greatly appreciated

as a newbie I'm not allowed to post links, but it's an article with the title "Rooting The HTC One The Right Way" at cultofandroid.com
and yes, the device is deteced in sideload-mode, the rom gets transfered and the flashing starts, but it seems that no matter what, "system" can not be mounted after the flashing
greetings

ok, I was able to restore the device with the stock firmware, woohooo!
I'm still not sure why flashing of viperROM went wrong the first time
any ideas? I would like to try it again, but since I have no idea what I did wrong the first time I don't want to mess up the system again
greetings

THAT'S THE EASY WAY ONCE THE system boots you can start the whole process again but more carefully. Or you can flash the Rom.zip from the ruu

Try again, make sure you have the correct device type ROM, there are several M7 devices around... may depend on your provider... I got mine yesterday, "m7ul" and succesfully flashed cyanogenmod 10.1, and even it´s still a nightly, I´m quite impressed...
Good Luck

they don't seem to be various versions of the viperROM, all I could try is to install an older version
do you think this might help?
I found just one person that had the same problem in the viperROM-thread, but I couldn't find any solution for that

If you're on the Sprint One, it won't work. The rom doesn't work on our device at the moment.

I don't think you can install a factory update via custom recovery. I might be wrong though. Someone smarter than me will surely chime in if I'm wrong.

If you're already on 4.2.2 I HIGHLY doubt you need it. IF it's a firmware update, then it might include things like a new screen touchpad update (which I don't recommend installing because it could possibly break your custom recovery) and a new radio file and irl. The most important part of that is the radio update and I wouldn't even really call it "important". More like USEFUL then anything else. So what you can do and what I recommend you do is: don't worry about your failed update. Find the latest radio.zip (flashable through custom recovery) file and install it. Let me know if you need help!

In order to receive and install an OTA update you need to have stock recovery... you have a custom recovery (CWM) which is why the update fails.
You have 3 options..... search, find and flash the stock recovery for your device, flash a custom rom based on 2.24.401.8 or stay as you are.
For radios this link is a list of all the radios released for the One, each can be flashed through CWM recovery.

Yes we have a locked bootloader. We have to use safestrap instead of the usual recovery like cwm or twrp.

Do I need to flash a custom rom using safestrap and then flash the script, or can I just use safestrap to flash the script on my ATT stock rom?
