Hi, I installed null on my Gear, but it gave me lot of problems so I decided to restore the stock firmware. I have done lot of searches, but since I am a newbie a didn't understand what to do. First i don't know where to get the ROM file. I found a thread listing all the stock ROMs for the various regions, but there are no download links, the author just says "you know where"... ehm I don't actually know where so I am totally confused. Plus, I don't actually know what to do with the ROM file once I download it.
Ok I know this could be a very noob question, but I am really confused, because all the guides are not so clear and sometimes they use some kind of coded language (is this cool?) and I can't get the meaning of any the expressions used, understanding anything. I just need to know what to download (just need a link) and how to flash it in order to restore my gear to stock ROM. Thanks for your patience, hope you can help.

Hello, thanks for your precious help and sorry for the late answer. I found the download page, but I just can't download the file: when I select the one I need, it redirects me to a page where I can choose two mirrors. One simply doesn't work (RapidGator) and the other one (TeraFile) redirects me to a site where I choose regular download, complete the captcha and then just wait, and wait, and wait and nothing happens (chrome acts like loading a new page, showing the tiny "spinning wheel" near the title of the tab but nothing happens). Hope you can help finding a new link

Hi, thanks a lot, but I tried again after a few hours and it did work. I forgot to post, since I was at work. Sorry, my bad. By the way I flashed the file, but it didn't work: my gear was stuck at boot displaying the samsung logo. So I tried to recover it using Kies and it did work, and now it runs it's own original ROM. Sorry again for forgetting to post how I solved and thanks for your interest.

Well, i think you don't actually need those files: if you restore the device using Kies it works flawlessly. All you need to know is your device's serial number, and it's printed on the side of its original box.

It downloads from www.sammobile.com
I'm pretty sure it downloads the latest official firmware, since it actually says "Downloading" in the first phase of the procedure.
Only gave option to upgrade to latest firmware. Got the .md5 from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2631244

Check the md5 of your zip and make sure you have a good download - if you haven't already.

Downloaded it from cm site so i think it's legit, the download doesnt get a chance to start. The log says that MTP is enabled, but it dont know if that affects the installation.

Even if "legit" you can get a bad download. I won't flash without checking md5. Bad downloads happen.

I've followed the instructions on how to pull the OTA files for my S5 Active on AT&T (G870A). I have the file as a .zip and it seems to have the right things for an update in the archive. Size is 929MB.
TL;DR - See reply #7 for download link.
My AndroidFileHost account is not for a developer, so I can't upload yet. I've requested access to upload. I'm currently uploading to Google Drive, but it will about an hour until that is completed. I'll follow up tomorrow, but the end is in sight. I'm running 6.0.1 on my S5 Active and it seems to be doing alright. Definitely less bloatware than the 5.1.1 build.
I will post updates to this thread as I have them.
Edit: same bloatware
My ISP keeps taking me offline about 200MB into the upload to Google Drive. Maybe they think I'm torrenting Mr. Robot S2E9 or something. I'll try dropbox next or wait for AndroidFileHost to give me upload rights.
You can split file using WinRAR.
Right click on your file and select "Add files to archive"
In the opened window, give a new name to your to-be-split file (e.g. G870A_6.rar). Under "Compression Method", select "Store".
Input your desired value inside "Split to volumes, bytes" box, about 100-200Mb
Click OK and you're done.

I wouldn't split the files, considering it's a file that needs to be flashed, too many opportunities for corruption.
With that said, I think Dropbox is your best choice. You could also give zippyshare a shot, it's a fairly popular hosting site with straight forward downloads (ie. No misdirection on download buttons, pop-ups, etc).
Edit
Also, thanks a ton for this, I've been waiting and waiting for someone to upload a zip of the Ota for the Active.
I was able to use the desktop Google Drive sync and I believe the file is intact. Uploading via HTTP is not very reliable.
I'm checking the link now before posting it. Should be ready in an hour or so.

I'm not sure if it's even possible, or if you'd be willing, but it'd be nice to get a checksum created from your original capture. Then we could download the uploaded capture and checksum to verify it's intact.
Here you go
I downloaded on my Mac and unzipped. The archive seems intact. For your flashing pleasure...

Now that I finally have the option, I'm really debating whether I'm ready to lose root or not. Another thing, since I'm on of3, I'm not even certain I can use this to update, as you have to be on pa2, 3, or 6?
I no longer have AT&T, nor have those updates been released as flashable zips, so maybe I don't have an option after all. Lol

I was in the same boat. I had to plug in an AT&T SIM to let it get the update. It was on PB5, so it had to go to PB6 and then PH2. I didn't think to try to recover the PB6 update. Sorry.

You guys can try, my guess is it will fail, I'm in the same boat, think we need to be on pb* for it to flash.
Give it a shot and report back, quite a few people are curious, myself included. Worst case, it'll fail and you have to reboot.
Edit
I should add, I would try, but I'm still on of3 and not certain I want to lose root, but you guys already have. If it works, I'll definitely contemplate updating. Good luck!
How would you actually flash this? adb sideload? Put on device and install via recovery? I'm in the same boat and currently stuck on OC5 in Germany without ATT service.

I was on PB5 originally and it wouldn't update. I took an AT&T SIM out of another phone and let it run through the update path. The first thing it went to was PB6 which was 200MB+. The AT&T site mentions that it has to be one of those three to get the update to PH2. After that, the big download started.

I tried that already, filename doesn't really matter. I looked into the files itself and this update is mostly patches from a previous version so unless you're on one of the approved previous versions this probably won't work unfortunately.
Does anyone have any pointers towards the other OTA updates? If I knew I could just order an AT&T Sim card and proceed through them I would extract every single one of them myself and post them here. Unfortunately I don't even know if an AT&T card will do anything useful here in Germany.

I have scoured every corner of the internet looking for those files, to no avail. And unfortunately, you are correct, I don't believe that it would do any good in Germany.
I'm glad I at least have root, for those stuck on oj3, I'd be pretty upset. Anybody able to get us a required pb* Ota capture, please do, you'd be a hero!
I'm looking to find the official update zip (flash able through stock recovery) for that particular build.
Does anyone happen to have it, or know of a link to it? I've looked around and all the OTA zips I've found are too old.
Please around and thanks.

Well, better late than never. I am sure you found it by now. However, a quick search on duckduckgo.com with the terms "verizon stock firmware +s6 +edge" results in many possible sources. Feel free to add the build number you are looking for. Here is a site I trust (also happens to be the second search result next to xda-developers.com ).
http://www.galaxys6edgeupdate.com/galaxy-s6-edge-stock-firmware/
Scroll down almost halfway down the page (passing T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T) and there you have it.
Good to know. Thanks.

Thanks to the thread below, I was able to snoop around and found another source for you.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...25vvrs4dqd1-odin-nougat-7-0-firmware-t3597591
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=312978532265361703
Yeah I might just need those Nougat fw files. I store a lot of stuff offline.
I know, double post, but my problem now is that I uploaded the ODIN PI2 package originally WITHOUT the HOME_CSC file. The original package came with both Home and Carrier CSC files. To complete the work, we need the HOME_CSC file for PI2, to upgrade from PH1.
And back in the day a few of my files from GDrive for the G925V got deleted because of others. A couple files I can't get back now because that was my last backup.
Ok so, I kinda effed up. Originally my Play Store among other google services had been acting up and were unusable so I was troubleshooting for a fix. I tried everything except a factory reset, so of course I do that , but as I was reseting I also lost my root. It had been awhile since I rooted my phone so I followed the steps of the video I was watching. (How to Root Galaxy Note 5 on Android 6.0/6.0.1 Marshmallow!) He happens to reformat his phone in the video so I did as well, brainfarting on the fact that I would lose my backups. I start tinkering with stuff because after factory reset in the ROM I still have no access to any of the Google services. I deleted System and was gonna re-flash/use my backups (that I thought I had) to fix everything. Well, I tried downloading the stock firmware for my model but it's not flashable via Odin as it's in ZIP form, and when I attempt unzipping I get an error, tried firmware from multiple mirrors. So I tried running a custom ROM since there is a lot more support on that now. I tried the Nemesis_V3_N7-port first, it flashed succesfully, tried booting for a solid 30 minutes or so before I shut it down and tried a different rom. I think it was then or after I flashed the latest MOAR that I started bootlooping into TWRP.
Please help!! I can normally figure this stuff out once I break it, but I've been fixing this phone for the past 12 hours and have yet to find a solution.
So you wiped your phone and have no rom? so you can either bootloop, go into twrp or go into dl mode? Right?

All you really need to do is re flash your twrp so it will re root the phone again! After you flash twrp you can easily use adb to push the files back to your phone. This is all I did to a phone I repaired.. You can even use fastboot flash Your920PFirmware.tar..

I FIXED IT. It was my computer, I don't know what it was and I don't care lol. But I tried the correct firmware through Odin on my other Windows PC and it worked flawlessly. If anybody runs into any issues unzipping or flashing through Odin, last resort just clean install on the pc or find another one.
