Hi to all,
I try to rooter by all means but it turns out that it's not so easy when you're on Win 7 64 Bit .
So at the beginning I had a lot of problem to recognize the usb ( ADB) my OS which is now rule .
I am now hangs when I try to run the different fashion style root " QemuRoot V1.0 , Root With Restore By Bin4ry V31 or when I try manually? Invite from control "
THE CONCERN IS THAT I HAVE ALWAYS THE SAME ANSWER: Access Denied
Exmple WITH Root with Restore by Bin4ry v31 :
Mount: Operation Not Permitted
3440 KB / s < 380532 bytes in 0.108s >
3737 KB / s < 1500495 bytes in 0.392s >
4377 KB / s < 1165484 bytes in 0.260s >
remote object ' / system / bin / ric ' does not exist
Going to copy files to it 's place
mount: permission denied <are you root?>
EXAMPLE WITH QemuRoot v1.0 :
Step 1 - Setup ...
failed on ' / data / local / tmp' - Permission denied
link failed file exists
Step 2 - Exploiting ...
/ system / bin / sh : can not create / data / local.prop : Permission denied
OR MANUAL METHOD : rm -r / data / local / tmp
rm failed for data / local / tmp , permission denied
I confirm that my tablet is well recognized in my device driver or when I type in cmd : adb devices: I have a list of devices attached with a code.
Please HELPPPPPP !

You want to download this version "Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v32: [New Root for Z1 14.1.G.1.534]" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460 Sometimes it takes a couple times.
Make sure you have ADB enabled on your tablet as well as "allow install of applications from unknown sources." I always like to set the screen time out to never when doing modifications.
I run Windows 7 64bit and it works fine.

fastboot oem unlock means that I have to unlock bootloader? I don't want to beacuse the power button is in warranty, so I'd like to root and stay with stock!

So in the [Root 4.4.X] Pie for Motorola devices thread (thanks to jcase) on page 32 (thanks to dubyajaysmith):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...ot-4-4-x-pie-motorola-devices-t2771623/page32
found this gem for Mac users. But I'm an old noob (ran CM on GalaxyS forever using Windows tools) to using adb on Mac. Tried to follow instructions but apparently not getting it right. I can get root (partial) but it doesn't survive "soft reboot" (which I'm not sure which of several methods is correct).
TiBuPro seems to work (sorta). Root Checker Basic says root access.
return from Terminal had a couple fails?:
xx-mbp:~ x$ chmod 700 mxr.sh && ./mxr.sh
5083 KB/s (1538138 bytes in 0.295s)
99 KB/s (192 bytes in 0.001s)
rm failed for /data/local/atvc/blop.asec, No such file or directory
rm failed for /data/local/atvc/blop, No such file or directory
pie by jcase
want to buy me pie? paypal-> [email protected]
Root not retained after “soft reboot” (holding power down for 5 sec - is this correct “soft reboot”?… or reboot from TiBuPro? (nope)… or?)
So did adb ./mxr.sh - returned:
4345 KB/s (1538138 bytes in 0.345s)
28 KB/s (192 bytes in 0.006s)
rm failed for /data/local/atvc/blop.asec, No such file or directory
rm failed for /data/local/atvc/blop, No such file or directory
mkdir failed for /data/local/atvc/dalvik-cache, File exists
pie by jcase
want to buy me pie? paypal-> [email protected]
After TBP reboot still lost root, adb ./mxr.sh or chmod 700 mxr.sh && ./mxr.sh
again:
platform-tools d$ chmod 700 mxr.sh && ./mxr.sh
4337 KB/s (1538138 bytes in 0.346s)
33 KB/s (192 bytes in 0.005s)
rm failed for /data/local/atvc/blop.asec, No such file or directory
rm failed for /data/local/atvc/blop, No such file or directory
mkdir failed for /data/local/atvc/dalvik-cache, File exists
pie by jcase
want to buy me pie? paypal-> [email protected]
so again, not doing something right…
Tried installing ChainFire SU & Xposed Framework, tripping at the Xposed Framework Installer's "Install/Update" Framework (using "classical"), does it's thing, cancel "reboot now" and use "soft reboot" (perhaps this isn't the correct "soft reboot"?) which after reboot leaves root disabled again.
So please forgive wall of text, suspect these fails:
rm failed for /data/local/atvc/blop.asec, No such file or directory
rm failed for /data/local/atvc/blop, No such file or directory
mkdir failed for /data/local/atvc/dalvik-cache, File exists
are the "root" (lol, pun) of trouble...
Can anyone help the helpless here? TIA

Hello everybody! I am new to xda so I hope I'm in the right place. Rooting a KF (2013) has proved to be quite challenging for me, also because I am dumb . Anyway I have tried to install the 'Permanent Root with Superuser' via Kindle Fire Utility 0.9.8 but I am not able to. I know that I am missing something but I am too dumb to understand what. I need the help of experts. So, I have run Kindle Fire Utility 0.9.8 and I got this:
HTML:

I have connected my KF Soho to the laptop through the factory cable and I have selected 1, and I got this:

Then I have selected 1 and I got this:

Unable to open /data/local/nbmode: No such file or directory
/system/bin/sh: /data/local/nbmode: not found
The kindle has been told to reboot in Normal Mode.
Press any key to continue . . .
If I select fastboot instead, I get this:
HTML:
***********************************************
* Activating Fastboot (4002) *
***********************************************
failed to copy 'files\fbmode' to '/data/local/fbmode': Permission denied
Unable to open /data/local/fbmode: No such file or directory

The kindle has been told to reboot in Fastboot Mode.
Press any key to continue . . .
In both cases my tablet reboots but checking with 'Root Analyzer' I can see that it is not rooted.
I have also tried rooting with Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v30 choosing the 1st option but I get this:
HTML:
======================================================================
= This script will root your Android phone with adb restore function =

At this point, my kindle fire displays a screen where I have to choose between 'Do not restore' and 'Restore my data' and I chose 'Restore my data' but my tablet does not reboot at all and the runme.bat file keeps running forever. I have also tried not to press anything at all on the 'Do not restore/Restore my data' screen and I get this:

My tablet actually reboots but checking with Root Analyzer I still see the message 'No, your device is not rooted'. What should I do? :'( Ask me all the questions you need and I'll do my best to answer them. Also, please keep in mind that I am not technical therefore explain me things as you would explain them to a quite smart baby Thanks for your help!
Also, I'll write here more details about my device if it is of any help for you guys:
