My mom told me she's looking to get this phone unlocked but it doesn't specify a model number. I suspect this is the international phone? Anyone know if this particular model will run on ATT/Aio LTE?

The frequencys won't work for Att or north American carriers I am actually looking for one with Att freqs.

What do you mean the frequecies won't work for AT&T?
850/900/1800/1900
LTE frequency does not work however. But San Juan (as far as I know) doesn't even have LTE.
As for as "unbranded with AT&T freqs" you're not gonna find one. The Veloicity is their carrier unlocked, unbranded version. So just buy a Vivid.
I have a Vivid.
I was referring to 3G and LTE freqs And San Juan Has LTE since December.
I want the Unbranded one for use on The Claro Network who also has LTE in San Juan and works on the same frequencys as At&t.
I already found out that the Vivid will work and just purchased another one.

Since we don't have a way of unlocking the phone yet via root methods, you're going to have to pay some unlocking "company" to get your phone unlocked.
I called at&t and asked for the unlock code they said they will send it by email but I checked some unlock sites for pricing and it would cost about 25 usd

You're kidding! In Australia, Telstra give us the phone already unlocked if we are on a plan, with the only exception being the iPhones that are easily unlocked for free from the carrier anyway.

AT&T sucks, that's why.
I fly the Aussie flag on my profile because that's where I'm from; I'm currently based in the USA right now, though.
Hey guys.
Just wondering, Is it possible to Unlock the ATT, Sprint, ..... whatever version of the HTC One to work with any network worldwide? I didnt see any threads about this .
thanks
It's possible to unlock any phone. You'll have to go through your provider if you live in the states.

Thanks for the reply, thats the thing , I dont live in the states. im in New Zealand.
You might want to check that the phone has the correct radio bands enabled for your region, the US carriers use unusual tech, you'll be unlikely to be able to use 4G.

Hi all, because sprint is removing my discount (I've been a customer for over 10 years) it is cheaper to move to T-mobile, but it has already been over 14 days and I cannot return my current sprint phone.
I currently have it rooted and unlocked, but I'm wondering if it is possible for me to just somehome keep this phone, but use it on the T-mobile network instead of having to sell this, and than buying a new one and losing money.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated,
Thank you!
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they make it illegal to take your phone to a new carrier without your current carriers permission. Granted I do not know the details. But from what I understand the networks are not compatible so I do not think you would be able to do that. One is CDMA and the other is GSM.
I'm surprised no one's answered this simple question.
To answer your question, no. No way in hell. Sell your phone and get it T Mobile Phone simple as that.

They removed your discount when you upgraded. Go back into the store, fill out the form and fax it to Sprint. You will then have your discount back. You just have to re-verify every 2 years.

No, for two reasons...
1. The phone won't do GSM inside the US.
2. Even if it could do GSM in the US, it lacks UMTS 850, UMTS 1700 and LTE 1700, hence performance on T-Mobile as a smartphone will be poor.

You could easily make 550 off of your One, assuming it's in like-new condition.

Indeed it is sim unlocked (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277572) and I am planning on getting a sim there in Europe.
Thanks for the help.

Yes, works great here. Just make sure you put in the correct APN settings.
Using First in Italy without any trouble, 4g mode is available...
I use the HTC First in Germany with Vodafone and it works great. Also with 4G. Just check APN from your Provider and then lets go.
Have fun!

Wouldn't the T-Mobile version be locked to T-Mobile? If you pay it off in full will T-Mobile give you an unlocked model? I wonder how quickly the HSPA+ model would get flagged on medianet.

Well, I am now having the C6602 HSPA+ version of Xperia Z. Frankly, the speed is satisfactory, but after I tasted the LTE, it seems to be slower and slower
No, they won't sell it to you if you're not their user. And even though you got a way to get the device and pay the full retail price, it will still be locked to Tmo.
Rogers now have the device for 599.99.....I really need to find a way to get that one!

Did you try using it on the cheaper medianet plan or only a standard smartphone data plan? I have no problem with HSPA speeds if I'm paying for HSPA speeds :/

It looks like the Z1 C6906 model is available in Sony's Mexico store. The price is $1080 US. I want one, but I think I'll wait.

All are the same except for the fact that they are locked to the respective companies + different bloatware - and of course the bootloader is locked.
There is also a 4th option - purchase the phone from Sony Stores directly - and it will be factory unlocked just like iPhones at Apple stores.
Rogers currently has the cheapest listed price - but they will charge $50 for unlocking the phone (as will all the other carriers) - not sure if there are other costs as well - I have read that the listed prices are only valid for Rogers customers. You may need to sign up for a plan and quickly cancel.
Also factor in the sales tax.
I'm currently on the C6906 model my Canadian friend gave me that he got from the Sony store. It is working perfectly fine on the AT&T network here in NYC and I'm getting LTE. It's kind of weird seeing HSPA+ sometimes but either way, I'm loving this phone. The Z1 that Bell and Telus carry will work on AT&T's network but only if you get Bell or Telus to unlock it after purchasing it off contact. There is absolutely no bloatware on the Sony unlocked version (guessing there is on the carrier models) but there are also no headphones.
I'm not sure if or when the U.S. is getting the C6906 model but I'm sure they'll be popping up around the internet for everyone to purchase soon.
