Have you tried flashing a custom rom? I know CM 10 has the Russian language option. This is listed on my CM 10 ROM "русский" I assume that it's Russian. You can install the ROM and download the Google Keyboard and select Russian and Ukrainian.

Hello
Today I was forced to re-install Android on my SGS, because the former used DarkyRom9.5 was caught in an boot-loop.
So I decided to install cyanogenmod - and I'm very glad about this decision!
But after all work I recognized, that Swype isn't included in cyanogenmod, so I used RestoreSwype (apk: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841603) to restore it from an old backup.
It works fine (SwypeBeta throwed errors over errors after install). BUT there is no german layout for the keyboard - just english.
Is anybody here, knowing a way to get the german layout back??
Best regards

Install Swype beta, it has German language and layout. Sign up for it if you haven't already.

I did this, but Swype Beta crashes if it's activated, so I think I'm forced to use the "old" swype from the former installation.

Swype beta won't work when you have had a preinstalled version on your phone.
This Guide will help you get your previous swype properly uninstalled.
Okay - after removing the libSwypeCore.so I was able to install SwypeBeta correctly! Works fine - but the old (2.6....) keyboard-layout was a little bit better...
Thanx a lot!

Hello guys!
I am posting this question here because i haven't found a solution for the problem i'm facing.
Recently i installed the newest nightly cm 11 from cyanogen website and i am not able to get the swype feature to work with the stock keyboard.
Is there anyone facing the same problem ? Is there a workaround for it other than install an alternative keyboard ?
Thanks in advance,
Regards!

Just install Google Keyboard from the play store, its basically the same as AOSP keyboard but with a GUI and themes, it should work..
Only work around is install another keyboard, I don't know of any fixes(other then waiting) but using Google keyboard is the way to go, if you want to delete the AOSP keyboard afterwards use a root explorer and navigate to System/App>Deleted LatinIME.apk and reboot.
Untested by the way, might not work on google keyboard, but I don't see why it shouldn't, its 3rd party!

Okay so I live in Canada and recently got the Rogers update for KitKat on my HTC ONE. For the most part I am happy with the update except two issues that I have noticed. Please note I am on Stock with no Root.
1. I lost my Flash support in my browser. I used to love being able to have flash in my stock HTC browser I hate that it is gone. Is there any way to get this back? Some one mentioned that another browser from the app store may support it. Does anyone know which one and also is there a way to get it back on the stock browser?
2. My MuraCast is now broken. Before I used to Muracast to my iview Muracast Dongle which would work with slight lag...Now once I connect it keeps disconnecting like after 5 seconds and I can no longer get a stable connection it just keeps disconnecting. You would think Muracast would work better not worse under 4.4
Anyone else see these issues. Are there other things you do not like about 4.4?

thank very much for this, nice to know firefox implemented this!
As many users here are finding Samsung have limited the Gear apps shown to certain devices. As such I thought it would be good to catalog the apps each phone/model can see. This way we can use build.prop modifications to get all the apps we want.
To get apps to show three lines must be edited in the build.prop:
Code:
ro.product.model
ro.product.name
ro.product.device
The following two posts show the two phone models that I have currently tested.
Hope this helps someone.
Edit:
Seems that the S5 model number seems to produce the best selection so far. See below for details.
Phone/Model: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - US Sprint
Build.prop edits:
Code:
ro.product.model=SPH-L900
ro.product.name=toltespr
ro.product.device=toltespr
Apps: See attached
Phone/Model: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - UK Vodafone
Build.prop edits:
Code:
ro.product.model=SM-N9005
ro.product.name=hltexx
ro.product.device=hlte
Apps: See attached
Phone/Model: Samsung Galaxy S5 -
Build.prop edits:
Code:
ro.product.model=SAMSUNG-SM-G900A
May not be needed but I had them set as they are my defaults.
Code:
ro.product.name=hltexx
ro.product.device=hlte
Apps: See attached
Categories same as for Note 2
Edit:
Some people are reporting issues with Samsung apps upgrading their stock apps to those available on the s5, upgrading s health will stop it from working and you will lose any data when downgrading to your stock version. You have been warned.
Also works with ro.device.model=SAMSUNG-SM-G900T

I don't know myself because I use a note 3 but this thread might be a good starting point for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723862

Don't have any problems with : ro.product.model=SAMSUNG-SM-G900A
I've got a S5ized rom for the S4 with everything coming from S5 (apps and so on ...).
Working perfect ! I don't understand why they'd do that, if they want us to stay with the Gear, they should allow us to use most apps available here lol
This is quite a trick!!
I have a Note 2 with stock rom (with root, because with DN3 I couldn't install some apps in my gear 1, so I reverted back to stock).
I use SAMSUNG-SM-G900A in my build.props and almost every day I have new apps coming! absolutely amazing!!:good:
thanks man!
Hey!
Some users which have nearly full access in the gear manager app store to the apps are able to upload the app files of the "free" apps for the peoples they don't have root?
This where really great!
On my Sony Z Ultra I see the Tizen apps and a few will install however the majority of apps will give an
"Installation filed: Try Later. (0) error.
Anyone else have this issue and /or a solution to fix?

You may to get a "certificate-registration.xml" from samsung and then copy the file to your gear in the following directory: "Home/Developer"
Then you're able to install apk's which are not from the gear manager store.
I wrote a guide in german language, so i think it not help you.
Can't write it in english because my english is not so good and not enough to do this
But you can try to look on it:

You can get around this by installing the s5 health service as well to go with it then s5 s health will work for most
Is a must to clear data and cache for to work
